yes have done in a 525iT converted to M30 535iT. what model is the flywheel from ??? is it a dual mass one or a single plate type ? try a M20starter ? i used a M20 single mass flywheel and starter in my e36 325i when i converte dto manual not sure on the trans prog error , we havn't sorted that one either in my freinds e34 535iT . worked fine in my M30 e34 535i etc .
-
yes that one will do . just make sure you get everything . i have a set up from a 92 e36 325i if you want to swap . 021433600

. same box different output falnge maybe look at it see if you can fit the front section of the e30 shaft to the rear section of the e28 shaft .get the flywheel as well if you can so you dont have to weld a trigger point on .

heres a gearbox . http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....=18799&st=0

drives realy well , drives straight , brakes work fine , no shudders ,shakes or wobbles . handles pretty good too. nice tidy interior with the best colour leather and wood trim . can supply and fit tow bar and better stereo set up if you click the buy now option. most of the running gear in this car (engine /trans , drive shaft , exhaust diff etc )has been replace with lower k's stuff and most suspension steering stuff has had recent overhaul . come on someone buy it its a Bargain....... cheapist 540i on trade me >>>>>>>>> i also have some realy nice 16" and 17" bbs alloys as a upgrade if some wants to . linky link
-
yep black leather .i can make another one for you if you like. yes e34 so mucher cheaper to maintain . and yes 540i goes very well ,and not to bad on gas . ask the guys here that drive them
-
buy my 540i , there cheap enough to run , and only costs $4k to buy
-
easier to stick a sub in the boot with a amp if you want more bass
-
when some told him its not even his car . trade someone elses stuff
-
yes you can , i brought a e30 325i recently which had some horrible whare brand 6X9 spekers sitting on some inch + high spacers so i took the whole parcel tray out and replced it with a std one with std speakers looked some much nicer .
-
you can also use a gearbox from a 84-87 e30 325i its the same .
-
this guy might have one by its self . http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-185035337.htm

-
yea some guy in papakura , i think he can help
-
can get which door glass do you need.021433600
-
you can also use a box from a e30 325i preface lift will have the holes drilled already post faclift 325i you will need to drill the holes out same as a M20 powered e34 525i 520i etc.try get the matching flywheel if you can with the trigger point as well maybe do a trade as the later M20 engined cars dont need the castings on the box or trigger point on the flywheel
-
he , my old 88 one had no traction control but fitted with a 2.93 LSD . i do have a LSD for a 750i if any one is interested .
-
nice car . i have always liked those. i have spares for those cars if needed . i used to own one a few years ago . orsome car . pretty quick for a tank too. brought a auction for $9500 ( was tarde in the a car dealer couldn't sell for months) spent about $1k on bits a bobs sold it on for $14k a few months later and i reckom i was the only one that ever made money on that car other than the bmw dealer who sold it when new .
-
just buy a classic model then they dont go down so much or at all .
-
its a real major to do that converssion .you will need complete engine loom , ecu , afm all sensors etc( about $500-800 worth ) . also the front hub/pully from the donar engine will have to splice into your old engine loom to make it work .then reprogramme the ecu (aboyut $1200) so the car will run at its best (as the 325/525i are tunned complety different to the 525e) just mod the flywheel . does the gearbox have the castings sticking out to fit the sensors into. like in the picture ? might be easier to find the right gearbox and flywheel , you have done most of the work so far
-
could have broken the engine/grearbox mounts so gearbox is sitting on a different angle which will fowl up the gear shift mech
