I took the car to a renowned painter here in Dunedin and quickly got him to look at the car to see if it had been in an accident (slightly different colours between doors) and he said that in his opinion it had not. He commented that because Audi paint their doors at different times & cycles that the doors can sometimes wind up slightly different shades from the base and or metallic in the paint. I would have been pissed if it had.

Ahaha dead right. I took the father in law for a run in it and the thought because it was the size of a Primera that it was just an old 2.0litre 4 cylinder, UNTIL I put the hammer down and went into a corner about 40kph above the recommended... They are a small nimble car & I'm very happy with it. Got it for well under 30k aswell so very happy thus far!

Aha Its a Audi S4 4.2litre V8 (253kw & 410nm) Its the go fast version of the Audi A4 sedan.

Picked it up on Saturday and she's very pretty! Sounds as good as it looks aswell, the noise & grumble is brilliant when you have your jandall up it!

If it were me I'd run a mile. I think you can get a better car for the same money, NZ New & lower mileage. That wood would make children sick. Just my 2 cents!

Yeah, its uber cheap, considering over a month ago I sold my 180km import in black for more than that. Hard to tell what its like though, mine was mint.

Yeah I seen all that, the guy from Giltraps said it must have been the shade or angle, because theres no evidence of accidents and the guy who owns the car swears that its legit. Ofcourse he'd say that, but if I get up there and all the panels are on 90021degree angles then I'm walking away. Rather waste 500 bucks on flights/accomodation/ferries than have a mongrel of a car.

Cool, thanks Glenn. I spoke to Haans from Giltraps and he knows the car as it was in for its service and WOF not so long ago - he commented that the car was in awesome condition for the 120km travelled and that the owner was one of the fussiest he's come across. Only two owners aswell.

I've always liked the S4's but only three years ago they were 60k + & way out of my bracket. I'm paying 28k for the S4 & the S4 is a more practical option for me especially with the two extra doors. They rekon the S4's are awesome handling cars & very predictable when things do let go around those corners. A few You-Tube clips helped me very quickly - the sound they make is superb! First thing I'll be doing is making the noise a little deeper, not louder, just deeper if possible.

I rang the service agents and they advised that this model has a camchain & not a cambelt He spent $1500 on its 120,000km service only 2000km ago. Also its getting a pre-purchase inspection from Giltraps in Auckland this morning - where its been serviced all its life.

Unfortunately it isnt another BMW, tried to find an M3 for a suitable price but couldn't come up with anything NZ new which is what I preferred. Its a 2003 Audi S4 4.2 V8 Tiptronic, fly up to Auckland to bring it back this coming Saturday!

Bad luck, but good they came & told you! Some would bail & do a runner. Interesting point here though, your car is illegally parked & if it was at the time of the accident wouldn't that make your claim via insurance a little difficult?
