  1. Yeah I'd love one but the $$$ this here isn't a bad alternative.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=714800849 Cheers for that Alan. If I had to do a conversion a M57TUD30 would be the go
  2. He reckons the bearings on all the pulleys are fine. No noise from it when it was running also. Are we going to have a piss up for your 10,000th post Glenn? Come again lol? I'm a bit thick.
  3. That's what I wanted to hear! It's a wonder the check light wasn't constantly on with that sensor unplugged/cables damaged.
  4. I was hoping something along those lines. Those unplugged would easily throw the idle out you rekon?
  5. Yeah, ahh well lol. Will get it fixed up properly and look for something else I guess. Any idea what those wires are for on the front Glenn?
  6. Brother in law took it out, he's a qualified mechanic, he said it looked a bit tired. Prior to the coolant leaking out, there was no overheating so we should be fine hopefully. I'm very interested to know what those wires are for though. Hoping this might fix my idle problem lol!
  7. So yeah, N42 ownership hasn't been fun. Upon starting it the day after I'd bought it, I noticed the idle going between 1000 and about 400rpm, check engine light flashing, oil light flashing. Was fine after warming up. Also, the rocker cover gasket is leaking onto the outlet manifold creating some nice smells. Anyway, I'm getting up the hill after finishing a job and the water level light comes on. I get home and there's coolant pissing out. The hose had burst.. Nice. So I remove the front cover thing, take the hose of to get it replaced and noticed the drive belt was absolutely f**ked with pieces of it missing and all. So I've replaced the belt also. I also noticed that the belt had destroyed some wiring on the front of the motor. Have put pics below, could this be the cause of the idle problem hopefully?
  8. Watched that provided it checked out that's a hell of bargain. Would think it would be north of 116k too. That's a real sleeper.
  9. Shouldn't be damaged, it looks brand new, lights flash indicating the battery isn't dead also.
  10. If the 320i is an auto get the 323i.
  11. There was one I came across last week worded something like this.. "Da potos r $hit n wll put sm up tamarra arva and da headgskt iz f**ked"
  12. Late reply but I have an E53 burnt disk here somewhere if that would help? Doubt it but may be worth a go?
  13. Trick question ha? I'd say a decent percentage of NZ buys cars off trademe.
  14. Yup. Tried that one a few times. No go
  15. My issue with that video is that I only have the one brand new key..
  16. I've got a 2001 e46 316ti which I bought for the wife. It came with a what looks like a brand new key, the older type infa red. My 2000 e46 320d has the newer long range diamond shape key and that is a slightly older car but is NZ New, the 316 is a Jap import. For the love of Christ I cannot pair the infa red key to the 316ti. I've been through forums and tried several different methods none of which have worked. I would have thought the 316 should have the diamond key??? Has the previous owner somehow got the older type key to start the car? Any help would be appreciated in advance!
  17. Close the door when you get out and open the boot leave the boot open while you push the button? I'm thinking it's got the wrong key fob to be honest. Dunno why it would be the older type on a newer car?
  18. So I've got it here. Couple issues, but only minor. One that's annoying is that the keyfob isn't paired to the car. The remote looks new and is the older infa red (have to point at the rear view mirror job) whereas my NZ New 320d which is older has the newer 3 button diamond shape key.. I've looked about but nothing seems to work, what is the easiest way to pair this bloody key to the car?
  19. Thanks Charles, but yes, that was my first port of call once I'd won the auction Do any of you guys use the Txtb4ubuy system? I.E text the numberplate to 3463? Costs $1 I think.
  20. We'll we're on again. I have a date with the owner tomorrow morning when I get off my kite in Christchurch at 8:30am There's a 15km drive back to their place apparently so if the car isn't doing what it's supposed to I guess I can just jump out at speed and spend the 3k on plastic surgery. There's a few cars for sale I'd like to look at in Christchurch if this sale falls through so not all will be lost hopefully. I just don't know why the vendor had to go through this process, it was really UN-necessary. I'll probably end up coming back with a M50d X5 and spend a few weeks on the couch after the wife sees it coming down the driveway tomorrow night. I guess we all secretly hate trademe, especially if you sell on there often. But it has it's good points & has a hell of a lot to answer for especially when you look through my garage! I've lost count of the times where I get asked "WTF do you need that for??"
  21. True this. I spend over $200 a month on fees. Well, an update, I complained to ShitMe and I get a text this morning asking me when I want to come and collect. I replied saying, yes I'll book more tickets but at the sale price of $3220. I swear this car better be worth it. I'm worried that the vendor has gone septic and will sabotage the car or something..
  22. Does the horse come with it?
  23. Haha. No because then he'd want his $3220.
  24. Don't think I do. Their next auction with the car is going to get assholes!
  25. Ahead of ya. No I didn't get to the airport. The f**ker is living in a 2 million dollar GV house too.
