Trailer I use is an unbaked single axle 6x4 trailer.
-
Wonder if I should try unplugging the trailer just for a short distance (rear tail lights can be easily seen) and see if it happens again? Otherwise the trans shifts perfectly every other time..
-
Yeah I've heard that one too mate. Booked in for Friday to get it scanned, that said, since the trailer has been off the car it hasn't done it since...

Rust or other safety issues on cars isn't really the point here. I was amazed when I came across that auction, amazed that someone would be so thick to fit something like this to any car. You own a BMW, own up to the fact that YES, they cost a bit more than a Corolla to own & maintain the bastard. If ya can't do that, then get a pair of shoes instead. Personally, I'd be pissed if I bought a car and found that out.

interesting cars for diesel and or E39 fanatics
deeveus replied to kiwi535's topic in TradeMe discussions
These are a 2.9 diesel which is a shame as the newer 530d came with the better 160kw 500nm unit. Still... Rare as rocking horse sh*t and a good looking car. -
Word.

My E53 was around that price, thank christ I didn't pay for it and it was part of the deal when I bought it. 2.5k for a towbar is just downright robbery IMO.
-
Ok, so I've found the first fault on the car. Whilst towing this weekend I noticed that on hills (up or down) the car seemed to hold in third gear, switch to manual mode to force it to change up but it just won't. I haven't noticed this before on the car but this was the first time I was towing with it, wasn't a heavy load, just a trailer with two mattresses on it. Any thoughts?

This is what they need. BMW 3.0d motor. I seriously doubt it. Most of them are half buggered by 200,000km

One word : sterilization. EDIT: - looks like withdrawn by TradeMe ! Did someone here complain?

Appears a few have been sold.. Oxygen thief knuckle dragging muppet! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/SearchResults.aspx?from=advanced&advanced=true&searchstring=+BMW+airbag+light+staying+on%3f+-+a+quick+%26+easy+fix¤t=0&cid=1&rptpath=1-&sort_order=default&searchregion=100

Hmm. When I think performance petrol it needs 8 pots IMO. Handsome brute tho.
-
This was my thinking, I was only thinking of the danger that this thing could create. Someone probably needs to notify TardMe

Can anyone tell me where the E39 AV inputs are? I have the 4:3 screen which I believe is the MK1? Wanting to install a DVD player to keep the kids happy whilst traveling about this Christmas, also is there an upgrade somehow for the graphics like on the MK2? Cheers.

I had a 986 Boxster & the guy buying it from me wanted an AA check. They almost f**ked the sale with comments like "brakes 50% worn will need replacing" "cannot access engine" " tyres 30% worn may need replacing" sh*t like that. I said to the guy, if you're interested, I'll take it to Porsche and pay for the pre-purchase myself. I did that, gave me a good report, only issue was "weeping" rocker cover gasket, was absolutely minute.
-
I'm not sure the govt would be interested as they spent millions bailing Ford out for it to only fall over a few years afterward, which shouldn't have happened. Ford have more money than a bull can sh*t, they should have bailed out their own subsidiary company, not have innocent Australians picking up the tab.
-
Well yeah, no point taking it to the AA because IMO their checks are or at least used to be as good as a knob of goat sh*t. Take it to a BMW pre-purchase and you'd be up for 10% almost of what the car is worth!
-
2000 Nope, but drove the car for half the day before I bought it. At $2700 I wasn't really too worried, it doesn't make any noises, it has been fully serviced ontime, transmission works perfectly, engine runs & starts perfectly, new rotors/pads front & rear, registered until November 2014, fresh WOF.. The only issue I have left (at the moment) (have fixed the boot myself) is the smell of burning oil which is just the rocker cover gasket.
-
It's probably not a bad car but I agree a 2 litre in a car that size must have it's limitations in the reliability department, that & the fact that people that buy these big cars are after performance & space at the same time, not that I'd personally call a bog standard Failcon/Commodore a performance car.
-
I'm still yet to read that Holden are actually confirming they are shutting down operations... There's the Cruze for that application. The whole point of buying a Commodore is the room that they offer & the power. Take a look at the Failcon Ecoboost, they've been a bit of a flop for Ford.
-
As I said to Glenn - @ $2700 if it goes bang, chuck the whole car in the wheelie bin & walk away!
-
Do likings those wheels!
-
I was at a friends place yesterday for the national crate day. Had the E39 & we were having competitions to see how much people thought the car was worth. I had people pegged for 7-10k mostly. When I told them it was 2700 they were blown away!
-
$2700 but immaculate inside, immaculate outside bar a scratch on the rear & two dints in rear bumper. That's it!
