This is my uncles old one, it's been sitting for sale in CHCH since Christmas, must be a sign of the times. Anyhoo, I got talking to a salesman there and they are uber keen to get rid of it. They are basically doing a 5k difference on my current BMW X5, an X5 I paid 61 for, and have spent about 4k on performance & wheel/tyre upgrades which I know I won't get back. They will also chuck in a 12 month comprehensive warranty that will cover the M5 for any breakages which is about 1500 bucks alone. I've only been in the car once when he first got it and this was without the M mode on, it was extremely powerful without it and a very nice unit to ride in. I've had a E60 525i before, not that the performances will be anything similar however. Reason I wanted a X5 was for versatility, towing/weekends/crib which is 130km away, however we've been to the crib once this year since Christmas making my 20k investment in a brand new ATV and custom built trailer redundant, my ATV has done 370km in total since I bought it new last year in November FFS! So I'm thinking if the X5 goes that I'm going to sell these aswell. I really like the X5 it's been the best car I've ever owned & I've had alot of cars. Step into my office

That's why they are around the 1800-2000 dollar mark for three years

Should add a * = field must be entered denotation on the registration process.

Isn't the 7 Series designed for space & comfort? Slabbing the roof down will mean that anyone taller than 5 inches will have no headroom.
-
It's obviously been someone's hack, a true shame really. That baby would be garaged & treated better than my wife, troo story, wait, my X5 gets treated better already LOL. Get it & get THE most comprehensive warranty available and then rest assured that any further issues are covered.

Pretty disgusting really, that unfortunately would simply piss me off aswell. Thieving bastards.

What he said, would be a lovely investment & Sunday car, damn he's put some work into it.
-
Yeah fair enough mate, the car is rock solid at the moment, no signs of giving out anywhere, if it does it's under warranty. I've been told these things are fairly bulletproof and the dealership said that they had done dozens of these X5's with little to no issues.

DSC For the loose on a E36 Roads are slippery as down here today too. Could be a combination of poor tyres and or diesel, chemicals on the roads.

I asked them about this and they just said all they do is remove the emissions limitations of the engine and tweak settings. They also said that they've had no direct results of failures owed to the upgrades. Apparently the upgrade is un-detectable to the dealerships and will not void warranties, hell, my dealership even recommended it to me! But yeah, it is seriously uncomfortable having your foot flat every time off the mark because it throws you back quite violently.
-
These guys finally got back to me. They sent me the unit for the upgrade pictured. All I had to do was plug it in, it read the ECU and other things? plug it into my PC, upload the data to that, it onsent it to England then this morning I have an email stating that the re-program is complete, upload that data to the module, plug it into the truck and it was done. Pretty easy all in all. I can say that from a foot flat start it's made a massive difference, beforehand when I booted it it threw you back in your seat but the power kinda died after 3000rpm, now though it keeps pulling up to the red line. After that it's history, I timed it to be doing just over 7 seconds to 100kph also after that it just keeps howling along. It's made some pretty decent differences, torque is available more through the rev's aswell. All in all it's win.

LOL you'd probably double that. Looks rough as fark on my screen, NZ New though, quite surprised that someone would have that car in that condition. Might get it for 60k though, probably all it's worth in that condition & k's

Yeah there's a few terribles in there, that was my first boat, best boat I'd ever owned, will look for pictures of it when I get home.
-
Instead of type them all out, I've decided to just scan it LOL, there are 2 missing pages from that too I'm sure of it.

I think I've only owned 5 or so BMW's. I can honestly say that the Audi I had by far had the best feel of build quality, never owned a French car, I don't think LOL.
-
No Mitsubishi mate, I can't stand em. Touareg was unfortunately the V6 petrol model, plenty of fuel consumption, but lacked power LOL Would have loved or love to own a V10 Twin Turbo one.

Yeah sorry ladies, this thread wasn't intended at all to offend anyone, I mean FFS? A 89 Failcon is not a braggers car at all, maybe the CLK55 was though Don't worry about pictures guys, just the car and some info would be good? Get posting! ROFL @ Apex - I'm not a fag, I'm married and have a kid to prove it haha!
-
I know exactly where the guy lives (not his registered company address) & he's aprox 5 mins drive from my house. I think this is one for Target, I'd approach them and see what they can come up with - you might get some TV action!
-
Post cars you've owned - must have pictures! Ok, so I've owned probably more than 100 cars, I actually made a list and it's somewhere at work but the thing is I don't have pictures of them all, so I'll post the ones I've owned that I do have pictures of. Will post the rest tomorrow when I have some time at work!
-
Hmmm. No I dont have it on my list lol, probably didn't have it long enough LOL.

Just as common I think, maybe a little more towards the auto though. If I ever got another one it would have to be a manual, me uncle has a S4 convertible, quite rare I understand.
