Yes, well put.

So, if I understand correctly the one in the pictures is different to the one you received? The picture looks like the old gen radio which it sounds like you need (you don't say what year/model it is for). I'd have a word to the seller if that's the case. It can always be remedied locally, but might mean a bit of stuffing around (or taking it to an auto sparky) - just depends what you are up for and how likely it is that you will get your money back from the seller (+ freight etc). Edit: Does the part number in the photo match the item sent?

I dunno. I don't pay a lot of attention to politics and the dirty tactics, and I know Winston has made an entire career out of this stuff. Still makes me wonder if he might have bitten off more than he can chew and if the people of Tauranga will trust him enough again. Course, we could be looking at this all wrong. He is a master of the trade and might be manipulating the media for his own benefit. Lts face it, he is on shaky ground if he relies on the party vote to get him back in, and pretty much any publicity is good publicity.

Maybe should have ordered the steak 'sans sauce'? There are loads of urban legends around that kind of thing - like the chicken tumor in the KFC, and the dude making his own mayonaise for the coleslaw (also at KFC funnily enough). Always makes me check the food grading when you walk in the door!

I know he has come back from the dead before, but how the hell does Winston expect to fear after this latest development (front page of today's Herald or link)? Surely he would have investigated the claims before telling the Herald to put up or shut up? If he did investigate the Owen Glenn donation and lied about it, who the hell is going to trust him on anything now? And if he didn't investigate at all it is irresponsible, and I wouldn't want him running my government. Sure there is the arguement about plausible deniability, but if that's the case, look where it has left him now. How can you tell a politician is lying? Their lips are moving....

LMAO Did anyone see that documentary on tourettes syndrome about 12 months back? Still can't forget the girl checking in at Heathrow screaming "Bomb, Bomb"... Bet that was an interesting 'discussion' with security.

Just as them for an account application.... They normally want guarantees from the directors etc to set an account up - so you normally need the Financial Controller or MD to finish it off. No big deal really!

This thread is depressing.... When I was looking for one I searched high and low and they were as rare as rocking horse sh*t - now they seem to be common as dirt (grrrrrrr). There is a nice red 325ci on Trademe and has been for sale for at least 12 months (the owner is a bit ambitious when it comes to his pricing - was wanting $29,990 12 months back and now $28,500) so they aren't always selling like hotcakes. Seriously though - hold out for exactly what you want. Leather is much better than the leather/cloth combination found on a lot of imports. Also, the electric sports seats were pretty common on NZ models where the imports commonly don't have them - I find them much more comfortable. As for the auto/manual thing - my 330ci is the first auto I have ever owned and I love it. I just got tired of changing gear all the time in Auckland traffic and this fits the bill for me. Sure you can still give it a toweling when you want to, but for everyday use it seems to be better. I like to listen to the revs in a manual to pick my change points, but with the auto I can just crank the stereo up.... Get one with an in-dash CD and RDS if you can - they have more power than the cassette radios and the RDS version is a world mode stereo and can be reset to NZ frequencies (if you get an import). As for the engine size, the only one I would stay away from is the 4cyl 318 - my old mk3 golf diesel would have eaten it alive.... I have driven the 1.8, 2.5, 2.8, and 3.0 litre engines and I think the 2.5 was actually my preference although they seem to be a bit thinner on the ground. The 3.0l is a very good motor and with 170kw under the lid it goes like sh*t off a shiny shovel. I'm not complaining As for colour, I personally prefer non-metallics (Imola Red or Hell Rot are fantastic IMHO) - what you get is up to you. The paint work on these is the biggest let down for me - I expected better of BMW. I have had other german cars with much better paint than my beamer (and no, it isn't from a dodgy repair). They seem to leave some areas primed only which seems a bit odd to me (every one I looked at was the same). Good luck - post some photos when you have purchased.

Are Nokia still making phones for CMDA networks?? I thought they had given up on them (as they were a dying breed) to focus on 3G and GSM. Maybe someone on the forum works for Telecom and can elaborate. I guess you might have to wait until Telecom roll out their new network....

Wonder if this would make importing ex UK vehicles make more sense? I guess it will push some prices down, but at the more expensive end of the spectrum it won't have the same impact.

I might be interested.... Are any damaged / kerbed?? What are the tyres? Can you post some more pics?

Using an HID burner in a regular lamp designed for an H1 or H7 bulb is downright dangerous. You may end up seeing a lot less than you did with the filament bulb as the light source position is really important for correct photometric performance. You could also blind oncoming drivers. Oh, and it is illegal - dunno what the penalty is, but you can bet the book being thrown if someone were proved to have hurt another driver because of it. Anyone doing this deserves a slapping.... You MAY be able to find a retrofit kit or lighting modules and do the job properly. The kits are normally sold for buses etc where the low volumes don't justify a massive investment in headlamp tooling. They are pricey, but it can be done and done stylishly. Precisely... Using more than 55w will overheat the lamps and you start to run into all sorts or problems like melted wiring, damaged bulb sockets etc. It is worse still if you have a car with plastic lenses - these will also melt right in front of the bulb position. Don't do it! The other issue with the higher brightness bulbs (same wattage) is that they don't last as long as regular ones. Always buy quality brand bulbs (Osram and Philips are up there in quality) and remember to never touch the glass.

How do I enrol in the UC track team??? Any suggestions?

I think you might find the only option is replacement if you can't love with the slight yellowing on that lens....

Love to see it - I bet it is spectacular but very understated at the same time. With loads of cool stuff naturally. Next time I am in Munich.....

Couldn't afford to drive it but could afford to torch it?? Something wrong with this bloke... Probably haven't charged him pending a psych evaluation!!

The front end looks awesome up to the windscreen. Not sure about it from there back and especially the rear guards. Something just doesn't look quite right and I can't put my finger on it. Not a real fan of the colour on anything but the Hulk himself.

That photo of the Champs Elysees is absolutely awesome. What's in the bottom left hand corner? A watch face or finger or something? Any chance of a full res copy?? I found traffic in Paris to be diabolical when I lived there - I think you have really captured the essence of it with some of the most famous city views around. I really love the Champs Elysees in the winter - all those trees have fairy lights through them. And the other pic with the car transporter is also very typical - narrow streets, cars everywhere, and loads of dogshit on the footpath.... Good work!!

Are there any markings on the back of the lamp? If so, post what they are. I'm looking for something like >ABS< or >PMMA< etc. It does look to be a little yellowed but not too bad. Did the other one come out OK? If the material is >PMMA< (acrylic) you might get away with some more polishing (use paste not liquid) but as acrylic doesn't normally yellow like that, I think they are probably >PC< (polycarbonate) which isn't so easy (the yellowing could be full thickness). Where did you get new lenses? And how did you manage to change them out? Did you try to polish them out first? Just curious...

I was wondering if Labour were suicidal... Why do something like that so close to an election? Even a blind man in Antarctica could see that it wouldn't be popular.

I think you might find that the truckies end up getting squeezed at both ends. Their customers are reluctant to accept price increases (at best) and they have no choice but to accept the higher pump prices and whatever road charges the government chooses to levy. You might also be surprised at how many of what appear to be 'big company' vehicles are actually owner operators under contract - so they feel it right in the pocket themselves unless they can pass it on. I don't remember seeing too many big rigs parked on the street in St Heliers or Remuera, so I am pretty sure that there is not a bunch of rich listers driving trucks. As for why are most of them still doing it? I suspect because it puts food on the table and is difficult to walk away from what amounts to a million dollar investment if you are talking about a new tractor trailer unit. Especially if you are a 50 year old that has never done anything else.

$100 USD may be about right, but you can't ignore the R&D, tooling and development costs which would likely be on top of this (big $$$$$$$). Of course you also pay a premium for the Apple name and reputation - and judging by some of the comments in this thread, it sounds like there is added value to this (otherwise it wouldn't be such a hot item). And then everyone that touches it before it gets to the end user will want margin too.... I do agree though that $1200 is a crock - you would hope it is significantly less than that. If Vodafone are only making $30 per unit (sounds like sales spiel to me), they must be absolutely reaming users on the monthly costs - they are in business to make money after all. My 2c for what it's worth.

I reckon the front has a real Volvo look to it, and the rear is leaning towards the VW Eos. I'm not totally sold on it, but it will probably grow on me. Certainly preferable to the original Bangle butt.
