That's what I thought too - the whole idea of an auction is to bid without knowing the reserve... Sure it is helpful to know if it is in your price range - but when a car is listed they ask what you expect to get to refine the search facility. Sounds like a revenue gathering exercise to me. Or just trying to rein in some dodgy traders with everyone else paying the price.

I think you can still be done for vandalism or malicious damage or something like that. Believe it would apply to things like throwing a bunch of nails on the road to stop them as well. The Police are no friends of the boyracers (and rightly so), but if you put them in a position where they have to do something, make no mistake - they will make an example of you.... I would expect that guy to be charged.

Feedback says the winning bidder wanted to pay in installments... With respect to the price jumps - isn't that a by-product of an autobid bidding against someone else??

My E46 has a very slight lean as well. Biased by around 8mm towards the right rear (low) - I put this down to the battery in the right rear. Can't think of anything else it could be in a car that hasn't done a lot of work or had a major accident.

There are legal requirements that are supposed to be met with all vehicle lighting functions - and aftermarket tinting / light skins are not legal... Having said that, the WoF guys may not pick it up if the colour is correct and they think it is bright enough (obviously by eye not an actual measurement). Even if the car gets a WoF, I believe the Police can order it off the road if they think it is unsafe and you may need to prove it meets the photometric requirements. You might find the rear fog function is on the wrong side too - sometimes it is only included on the driver side (LHS in this case) although it can be used on both (not sure if this will have it on both or not).

Suggest ebay as Jochen mentioned. I got my new one there and it works well. Just make sure it is a world tuner model that can be reprogrammed.

Had being the appropriate wording.... Sold it a couple of weekends back. Only suggestion is what wild_weston and I did and importing one from the US (ebay) - unless you can find one on Trademe. The later model ones (with RDS and the twin display) can be reset to the correct region - no band expender required and US/Japanese versions are no problem. Something like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Acces...0245849150& should do you.... Actually this one looks pretty cheap! But you must make sure they have the twin display and are world mode stereos! Have a look at the other threads on this in this forum. You could always PM Hotwire - he is an auto sparky and might have one.

Ironically I sold my 2 wheeler a couple of years back - it was going to end badly (either in hospital or jail) and was costing a bomb in insurance and rego for the 1500km per year it got used. It was an absolutely mint ZX7R - kicking myself now (well, not today anyway )....

I lived there and that looks fairly tame compared to some of the stuff I have seen in Paris! They used to use my poor old Golf diesel as a 120km/h mobile chicane on the A86 ring road....
