  1. OK, so not Natalie Portman on a GP bike... Gonna be one beast of a motor! Hope the build goes well.
  2. Only reason I can think of to go to BP is a reasonable pie For gas, I have mostly used Shell as my last cars all seemed to run better on their 95 (odd I know). That and they take Countdown vouchers... Wouldn't go to Mobil unless it was a life or death emergency.

    Tractor Pulling

Not just any V8's either - 500+ cubic inches of blown and alcohol injected Keith Black hemi.... Perfect for herding sheep, or combine harvesting etc.
  4. Now you have me speculating as to what 400hp in a tidy package could be.... Natalie Portman on a GP bike perchance??
  5. Not sure I understand the point either. After all, isn't this site / forum for doing exactly the same?
  6. Yes, very likely to be genuine kms - if you are going to fake it, why fake it at 160,000 . Having owned a couple of cars at this kind of age / km's it is the niggly little stuff that starts to bug me and at that mileage I would expect it to have small issues. Things like wear in the interior, AC problems, electronic gremlins, rattles/squeaks and worst of all stone chips and carpark battle scars. Sure they are all fixable, but how much time and money do you spend sorting the niggles just for the next one to pop up?? Grrrrrrr. Every used car is different and I guess you have to judge it on its merits. Might be an absolute steal! My 2c worth anyway.
  7. That's a lot of mumbo for $8k.
  8. The bit that bugs me about this car is the 160,000 kms. Oh, and the 4 doors...
  9. Awesome! Kick the tyres and light the fires.....

Is the washer pump actually wired up (connector snug on the terminals)? If it is, you might have a dead pump (assuming there is power getting to the pump). If there is no power getting to the pump, the problem is elsewhere... You can check if power is getting to the pump by connecting a 12V bulb in place of the pump and trying it (bulb should light up if it is getting power). Or use a multimeter or test light. It is just a matter of deduction and eliminating possibilities. Washer pumps are normally pretty robust but have been known to crack under the influence of washer fluid - leading to corrosion of terminals or failure of the motor etc. Worst case scenario is you have to get an auto sparky to look into it.
  11. I'll bet! Something like a mix of lasers and black holes? Precisely why they aren't legal.... I can just see the Bosch engineers cringing after all the 3D modeling and years of engineering that went into those lamps just to see some monkey who think he knows better than the designer and put an HID burner in there.

    fuel economy

I've had the 330 down to showing less than 7l/100km on cruise control on the open road (no hills). On average I think it is more like 7.5 - 8.5 (which is still 10% better than the VR6 I had before) and about 10 - 10.5 around town. I don't think that's too bad really considering it is a 3 litre in a relatively heavy RWD car. It's never going to be down there with a Polo diesel, but then a Polo diesel is never going to keep up with me if I flex the right foot.... Just shows how fast automotive development moves these days.
  13. From what I have read here he certainly qualifies on those fronts....
  14. Hahahaha - love that line!! I just put some real bulbs (Hella / Osram H7's) in mine and the performance is loads better. There are still some (all be it fewer of them) bright and dark spots which are reflector design (Bosch must have been perfecting the design still ) but the overall performance is sh*t loads better. Much brighter!! I can't believe I put up with "Race Auto" brand blue bulbs for 6 months.... Shame on me!!
  15. Yeah Europe are a no bullshit operation when it comes to homologation rules and compliance. Basically it is illegal unless specifically allowed. The US on the other hand is the opposite - anything goes unless it is specifically legislated. I don't even think the US has a WoF equivalent - the smog cert is normally just that to my understanding. They focus on emissions only and brakes, lights, rust etc don't really come into it at smog time. Didn't know Switzerland had linked fines to income (although I had heard about Finland) - real good reason to slow down a bit....
  16. Wasn't me!! Must have pissed someone else off... What do you have to do to get your Trademe account disabled???

That black M3 JPS race car is one sexy machine.
  18. Do you need to worry about the warranty? I thought you had to use a BMW dealer for servicing to maintain the vehicle warranty? Or are Botanymotorworx and BM Workshop BMW authorised? Be great if they are!
  19. Yeah, nice work! Good idea to do it all at once - bit of a deal too by the sound of what's involved.
  20. Maybe it is the old geezer in me but I am a little tired of the 4" downpipes on evo's and WRX's passing the house at 2am. As long as they aren't too pedantic and allow some scope for sensible aftermarket exhausts I support the change.
  21. I think the VW was Ferdinand Peich's baby right before he retired. Doesn't explain why it is so ugly though. From memory the Tesla is based on the Lotus Elise - so looks like sex on wheels, and you would hope it corners on rails too. Got to love that torque curve from 0 rpm!!
  22. Imagine the world problems that you lot could solve if you just added beer!
  23. I was reserving judgement not having dealt with or met him. I can confirm the guy is a tool. Was keen on some wheels he has and was just plain difficult about me viewing before bidding. Worked out that the phone number he was avoiding giving me is on another of his auctions. Won't be bidding....
