You only have to ask any cop where the highest arrest rates are in the country - Counties Manukau.... There are areas that I just won't go in Manukau at night - one gun stuck in my face is enough for me. Interestingly, I never felt unsafe walking (stumbling) around London at night with 9 million people there, and yet some areas of Sth Auckland scare the living sh*t out of me.

So I am driving from the city to St Heliers this arvo and get caught in the thunderstorm. Not just any thunderstorm though - for the very first time ever I have not been able to see enough to continue (parked up for about 5-10 minutes) and there were cars stopped all down Tamaki Drive. It was like the incredible hulk of thunderstorms. Visibility was around 10m at best with hail and really, really heavy rain. It even drowned out my Tool CD it was that loud! I have never seen anything like it. Have we angered the rain gods?

Hmmm - a shudder in the front under brakes always makes me think about warped discs first up. Get them looked at by a brake specialist. If they are only slightly warped, they may be able machine it out.

We really need to take a German driving etiquette lesson in this country - they NEVER pass on the inside on the autobahn, quickly move out of the fast lane when flashed, and they religously stick to the posted speed limit when there is one (as in not 1 km/h over the limit). Having said that, I have blasted past a cop doing 200 on the autobahn - and held up a high velocity M3 at the same time in an unlimited speed area.... German efficiency is a beautiful thing.

I'm actually not at all surprised - I know the wheel speed sensors talk to the stereo and the wipers (which are normally pretty basic systems) without even getting near safety systems like airbags etc. The Germans put a hell of a lot of thinking into these cars and trying to outsmart them aint that easy!

Don't be surprised if they don't meet the legal specs - it is quite common for aftermarket exhausts to include a manufacturers get out of jail marking like "Not legal for street use".... You would need to confirm that the specific model in question does meet the requirements before fitting it. The Arrow pipe I had on my Ninja had that on it even though it was one of the less obnoxious ones available.
