The car yard next to mine has just traded a very tidy 1990 320i in green. Done 160,000 kms, Auto but they are only asking $3,500.00 for it. The car's at Just Right Cars on the corner of Great South and Portage Rds in Otahuhu. This could be a good buy for someone. Don't ask for pics as it's not my car.

To fit what?A Compact, Coupe or Sedan. What year etc. There are a lot of different ones so you have to be specific.
-
And they are everywhere, so be careful.

Due to a cancellation, I have one extra ticket to the Top Gear live show in Auckland at 8.00pm Saturday 14th Feb 2009. The seat is in row 'C' ($125.00) and I am selling it at cost price. There is another Bimmersporter coming with us so whoever buys this ticket will be in good company. If you want to buy this ticket and live out of Auckland, I can supply overnight accomodation, that way you can enjoy a few beers and a bit of a do after the show. BTW, this show is sold out. If you want this ticket, then please PM me.

Happy birthday Tony and don't take to heart what Glenn said. Go out and get as pissed as a parrot, today's the one time of the year when you have a legitimate excuse.

Well Graham, you've seen my car. I Bees Wax the body mouldings and interior vinyl and it not only looks good but lasts a lot longer than any silicone treatment.Only problem is keeping it off the paintwork when you apply it.

I looked at putting a 4.0ltr V8 in my E36 coupe and was told that it is not a viable project. You have to move engine mounts, cut into the firewall etc. and once the project is complete you will not be able to change the oil filter. That was the advice I was given by two BMW specialists.

The best product I have found is good old Bees Wax

you've been waiting for them with bated breath, so without further ado here are the 2008 Darwin awards. Eighth Place In Detroit , a 41-year-old man got stuck and drowned in two feet of water after squeezing head first through an 18-inch-wide sewer grate to retrieve his car keys. Seventh Place A 49-year-old San Francisco stockbroker, who 'totally zoned when he ran,' accidentally, jogged off a 100-foot high cliff on his daily run. Sixth Place While at the beach, Daniel Jones, 21, dug an 8 foot hole for protection from the wind and had been sitting in a beach chair at the bottom! When it t collapsed, burying him beneath 5 feet of sand. People on the beach used their hands and shovels trying to get him out but could not reach him. It took rescue workers using heavy equipment almost an hour to free him. Jones was pronounced dead at a hospital. Fifth Place Santiago Alvarado, 24, was killed as he fell through the ceiling of a bicycle shop he was burglarizing. Death was caused when the long flashlight he had placed in his mouth to keep his hands free rammed into the base of his skull as he hit the floor. Fourth Place Sylvester Briddell, Jr., 26, was killed as he won a bet with friends who said he would not put a revolver loaded with four bullets into his mouth and pull the trigger. Third Place After stepping around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door, a man walked into H&J Leather & Firearms intent on robbing the store. The shop was full of customers and a uniformed officer was standing at the counter. Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up! and fired a few wild shots from a target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, and several customers also drew their guns and fired. The robber was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics. Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from 7 different weapons. No one else was hurt. HONOURABLE MENTION Paul Stiller, 47, and his wife Bonnie were bored just driving around at 2 A.M. so they lit a quarter stick of dynamite to toss out the window to see what would happen. Apparently they failed to notice the window was closed. RUNNER UP Kerry Bingham had been drinking with several friends when one of them said they knew a person who had bungee-jumped from a local bridge in the middle of traffic. The conversation grew more heated and at least 10 men trooped along the walkway of the bridge at 4:30 AM. Upon arrival at the midpoint of the bridge they discovered that no one had brought a bungee rope. Bingham, who had continued drinking, volunteered and pointed out that a coil of lineman's cable, lay near by. They secured one end around Bingham's leg and then tied the other ! ;to the bridge. His fall lasted 40 feet before the cable tightened and tore his foot off at the ankle.. He miraculously survived his fall into the icy water and was rescue d by two nearby fishermen. Bingham's foot was never located. AND THE WINNER IS... Zookeeper Friedrich Riesfeldt ( Paderborn , Germany ) fed his constipated elephant 22 doses of animal laxative and more than a bushel of berries, figs and prunes before the plugged-up pachyderm finally got relief. Investigators say ill-fated Friedrich, 46, was attempting to give the ailing elephant an olive oil enema when the relieved beast unloaded. The sheer force of the elephant's unexpected defecation knocked Mr. Riesfeldt to the ground where he struck his head on a rock as the elephant continued to evacuate 200 pounds of dung on top of him. It seems to be just one of those freak accidents that proves... 'sh*t happens'

Yes Graham, I am fitting a set of headers, getting rid of the cat, putting on a twin exhaust system and Remus muffler, Simoto air filter, and remap. Hopefully I should get an extra 25-30 rwhp, but more importantly I am looking for more torque. By the way, I checked with both Glenn and the technical division of BMW (NZ) and there is absolutely no difference between any of of the intake manifolds whatsoever.

I'm glad things are working out for you ashy_aye. After rereading this entire thread, I am still adamant about what I have posted. Yes I might be a 62 year old fuddy duddy, but I do strongly disagree with the actions of a lot of younger drivers who do their burnouts and drag racing on the public roads in NZ. Some of you might call this "having fun", but when you are putting the lives of innocent members of the public at risk, these actions become a definate no no. Guys, don't get me wrong, I love my cars especially my Beemer. Yes I like it to go fast, in fact it is booked in next week at Hi Velocity to have four grands worth of performance work done on the engine, So I am not an old "stick in the mud". Have your 'skid pads', go to Meremere or on private property, but PLEASE keep the madness off the public roads, including the quiet industrial roads at weekends.
-
Yes we have all broken the law and in my case more times than I chose to remember, but there is a big difference when you are putting others lives at stake. This 'boy racer' mentality, doing burnouts racing their cars etc. is putting the lives of the general public at risk. To hell with the lives of the boy racers, let them kill themselves, it's no loss, but putting the lives of the innocent public at risk is an absolute no no.
-
You are so totally wrong. There is absolutely no justification for this sort of inane behaviour. If I were to catch you doing that sort of thing, I'd do to you what the 4X4 driver in Tauranga did and smash your car off the road. FFS everyone on here are Beemer drivers and SHOULD show a sense of responsibility. If this forum is going to end up justifying this sort of immature behaviour, then I will be one of the very first to resign.
-
Well when you're old enough to grow pubic hair you might just understand.
-
I'm a petrol head too Graham, but I certianly don't go doing burnouts and racing on streets. My rear tyres cost about $450.00 each so why would I want to wear them out quickly? If you want to do burnouts, then there are days put aside at Meremere for just that purpose. And as for the last comment of yours Graham, what a load of crap. How many people have been killed in NZ in the last year by boy racers either doing burnouts, speeding and driving unsafe cars?
-
Why is everyone giving this clown sympathy? Look what he posted. " the car (which is knowen by the police) " So he has a history of doing 'burnouts' There is no place on the roads of NZ for people who do this sort of thing, so if he has had his car impounded, whether it was his fault or some one elses, he got what he deserved. These idiot boy racers have to be stopped.

I'm a dealer, and if I could make $4-7k a vehicle I would be over the moon. To be honest, if I can gross $1,500.00 a vehicle, I think I'm doing well. Out of that I have to pay GST, rent, rates, water, power, phone, advertising, salesman's commission etc. Being a car dealer these days is hard work for a small return.
