Thanks for that Graham. However your comment kinda surprises me considering my roundels and angel eyes, and your feelings toward them. Personally I think that the lights look good on this style of car.

The ones on the grass were taken at Devonport and the other two were on a bus lane in Takapuna.

I had a few photos taken yesterday. I would like to thank Josh (Hybrid) for very unselfishly taking the photos, Peter Groves of Topline Auto Panel & Paint in Otahuhu for his efforts on the car, Glenn Osbourne of Botany Motor Worx for keeping the car running and for suggesting that I colour code the kidneys and grill, and Sonny Datt the car groomer from Team McMillan BMW for it's appearance.

You bastard.......... Now how do I stop it?

Shelly, your attitude is exactly what I was talking about. You're young and think you're bullet proof. I think if you crashed a 1970's escort into a wall at 120km/hour it would not hold up as good as a 2000+ WRX You crash the WRX and I'll gladly crash the stronger Escort, what flowers would you like on your coffin? sh*t you better not trust pilots then, as they use simulators to train before flying also There is a hell of a difference between a flight simulator and a Playstation game. They are talking about fatalities not driving ability What then causes fatalities then if it's not a lack of driving ability? My brother is the National 2WD champion and is 36years younger then you, but I doubt you could match his driving ability. Big deal, but where did I say that I was a race driver, This thread has nothing to do with race driving, if you remember it was about speed cameras and they are on the public roads, and thats where these Playstation trained drivers are driving, not on a race track

Kopua Cowboy, I have never read such a load of bollocks in all my life. I think the name Cowboy suits you. Point one that Escorts, Cordias are slow death traps compareds to WRX's.............. Crap. Take the Escort for example, a reasonably strongly built English car but pushing to exceed 120mph. Subaru WRX a 250kph plus Jappa that will fall apart as soon as it hits something solid. Point two. We have Playstation game to make us better drivers......... Yeah Right! If you honestly think that playing computer games improves your driving then you are saddly mistaken. Do me a favour, phone me every time you go out driving and I'll stay at home. Point three, most fatalities occur in the 25-39 age group. There are a hell of a lot more drivers in the 25-29 age group than in the under 25 age group, and if you think that the under 25's are better drivers then check out the insurance company statistics. Wht are insurance premiums dearer for under 25 year olds. The problem with most under 25's is that they THINK that they are bullet proof and great drivers. Okay, I'm a fuddy duddy old 62 year old, but I am a petrol head and love driving and believe me there is no easy route to experiance. I gaurantee you that my 47 years driving experiance makes me a lot more capable driver than anyone who thinks that what they do on a Playstation game will make them a good driver on real roads in the real world.

Auto vs Man, specifically '80's e30... Noob 101.
briancol replied to BLACK DORIS's topic in Performance
Quote from Bravo. "Reason 3 - Autos are less efficient both in terms of performance and fuel economy due to both efficiencies in the gearbox, the extra weight, and the power-sapping torque converter." This comment I have to disagree with. Saying that autos are less fuel efficient is a misnomer. People with Manual Transmissions tend to drive their cars harder and keep higher revs before they change gears, whereas the Auto transmission will change gear at specific revs. The difference in the manufacturers specs on fuel consumption between Manual and Auto is usually negated by the Manual drivers style of driving. -
A beer billboard that offended many Christian groups in Hamilton is coming down almost as quickly as it went up. The Tui billboards, including one on the corner of Claudelands Rd and Grey St in Hamilton, reads: "Let's take a moment this Christmas to think about Christ. Yeah right." Its message has received mixed reviews from Christians across the country. In Christchurch, one Catholic bishop said the ad was "great" and helped remind people about the meaning of Christmas, and a Methodist Church of New Zealand spokesman said the billboard made a good point. But, in Hamilton, the joke was lost on Father Frank Eggleton, parish priest of the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who labelled the provocative billboard "appalling" and said it demeaned the holiness and meaning of Christmas.

If you sometimes feel a little useless, offended, or depressed......... Always remember that YOU were once the fastest and most victorious little sperm out of millions.

They were supposed to have been modified from the LHD to suit a RHD vehicle. I believe that they do fit E39/46's etc but definately not the E36.

MY PRIVATE PART DIED An old man, Mr. Wallace, was living in a nursing home. One day he appeared to be very sad and depressed. Nurse Tracy asked him if there was anything wrong, 'Yes, Nurse Tracy ,' said Mr. Wallace. 'My Private Part died today, and I am very sad.' Knowing her patients were a little forgetful and sometimes a little crazy, she replied, 'Oh, I'm so sorry, Mr. Wallace. Please accept my condolences.' The following day, Mr. Wallace was walking down the hall with his Private Part hanging out of his pajamas. He met Nurse Tracy. 'Mr. Wallace,' she said, 'You shouldn't be walking down the hall like that. Please put your Private Part back inside your pajamas.' 'But, Nurse Tracy I can't,' replied Mr. Wallace. 'I told you yesterday that my Private Part died. 'Yes,' said Nurse Tracy, 'you did tell me that, but why is it hanging out of your pajamas?' (You've gotta love this .) 'Well,' he replied, 'Today is the viewing.'

Sure did "Glenn". Over $500.00 and ending up with the car exactly the same, did not make me a happy chappy

I have to warn everyone that these headers DO NOT fit an E36 with an M50/52 engine. Gavin from Hi-Velocity has spent over a day trying unsucessfully to fit them to my car. I believe that they fit other models but there is no clearance for the steering column on an E36. And it pissed me off, I have had to put all my engine mods on hold now till I can find a suitable set.

That's just put me off lifesavers.

Happy Birthday Andrew, hope the news on your car is all good.

Ooooooohhhhh Wet Celery Ooooooohhhh

I particularly like the last one as it is just one vehicle with a great paint job.

I have just done some quick maths and if you were to buy this car today and ship it to NZ it would end up owing you about $17,500.00 then it would have to be complied and registered. Ask your self, is an '87 E30 M3 really worth $18,500.00? because thats the least it will would cost you and remember it's a left hooker.
-
I don't know where that price came from but I definately would not be buying a car from Japan at the moment. Three months ago we were buying 83 to 86 yen to the NZ$. Today we are at 49.93 yen to the NZ$. This means that the car will be 50% dearer to purchase than it was 3 months ago. Anyone buying cars from overseas at this present moment has got to have rocks in their heads.

I am after a Simota Air Filter Model No. CF-610 BMW. I know that BNT are the local agents, but I am trying to locate the importers. I believe that they are in Christchurch somewhere. Can anyone here help with this companies name and contact phone number. Thanks Brian.
