Assuming the heads ok ( hasnt been overheated) why not take it off,get it checked,replace rockers yourself,new gasket & bolts=$500 maybe & u have a good engine.

Its not a DIY. Outfit called FixIt ( I think) & are in Tauranga too I think. I believe they have just got new equipment & are able to repair all units now. Washer pump should be easy.

They drive surprisingly well but a 540 is best & they are def not the fun an e30 is. You could just buy my tech2 or my 2.8 schnitzer for $13k or my 6spd 540 e39 for $13k LOLZZZZZ
