  12. Well doesnt that just make all the difference.
  13. That thing would be so slow he's probably still waiting for it to be delivered.
  14. I was a heartbeat away from bidding on that - it has all the appeal that the 320 doesnt imo.
  15. Yes but auto, cloth trim,2.0L-really pretty basic (tidy tho). Probably all its worth really-if that.
  16. Well,no disrespect but he has disagreed with you in his post but you have chosen to ignore it. scanner will not help you on an E30..
  17. Hey Andrew,Just in case you arent aware, apart from being a forum sponsor,Glenn operates one of Aks leading BMW service centres & is considered an expert on the marque. Just a heads up for you mate. PS brain refers to diagnostic equip.
  18. Haha you're right-that was another task-call it a senior moment. What I actually used on this was a small 10mm open ender with both edges ground down as far as you can get away with. This allows you to slide it in the very restricted space.
  19. That was Nick -good too. Ebay is your friend-get them there.Order today, have them inside a week
  20. Dont know if this will help but when I did one I didnt(read couldnt) take the glass out but using a cutdown torx tool (like an allen key)ie shorten the short end,was able to get the regulator out. It is a huge pita & took ages but perserverance & booze won the day. PS Wedge the window fully up if you can.
  21. Did bumper lights on my e30-like you 5 min job no worries-yeah right. Cant be removed from the front-had been fitted from the rear so had to take the bumper off blah blah blah. About 90 mins & some tui's to complete-mind you I think the tui's slowed it down a bit.
  22. I did one recently & frankly wouldnt bother DIYing again-get Ray to do it. As to cost, altho I'm sure you could do it much cheaper, with lightened flywheel, diff, new bearings, master & slave,Z3 short shift kit etc etc etc there was fa left out of 2k.
  23. Thanks guys-just what I was looking for-its always nice to be able to recommend someone to a bimmer newbie.
  24. So my brakes are pretty crap & my tech has suggested braided lines & trying different pads. I will do the lines so I'm looking for pad suggestions. What does everyone use? Remember this is a briskly driven road toy which might hit the track once or twice a year so I'm not looking for Brembo's
