I only do around 15k a year and i dont know if I will be keeping it for more than 1-2 years. i am tempted to go for the newer year but the 100k's service is the worry whereas the car with 50ks i wouldnt have to worry until 3-4 years by then which i would have probably sold the car. hmmm very hard to decide!

this probably can be discussed in so many different angles depending on the chassis or vehicle in topic but my question is this: would you rather pick a 2006 with 50,000ks or a 2008 with 90,000ks? i know there are plenty of other factors to consider when buying a car: nz new/import, service history, the type of driving whether short trips or highway etc. but if we consider the rest of the circumstances to be relatively the same, which would you choose? also, for this particular example, lets say that the there are no differences in terms of facelift/options or anything else so it really is just the year of registration and the kms.

Probably going to pass on this one as it will end up out of my price range i think and not too keen to buy without seeing it myself. Thanks anyway for the offers all. It was a e92 335i

first to view purchased? gotta admit, it was a very sharp price

you could always buy a 330 *cough buy mine cough* and convert to manual

LCI - also known as facelift is most easily identifiable by that updated gearknob. i thought it was 2009 for the 3 series but maybe it is 2008 for 5ers. but do be careful, there are some random 2004's floating around thats had the updated gearknob retrofitted. heck, ive even seen one in a e46 325ci lol

always had good experience with fcp. have used them numerous times over pelican or ecs. but actually just looking on trademe found some okay ish priced stuff from NZAD. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/brakes/auction-1051112277.htm and also some hawk pads http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/other/auction-1051604703.htm

i dont mind paying the money for the parts, but $225USD for shipping is insane. just looked at ECS and it was over $300usd for shipping. never had a problem with shipping prices in the past (like $50-100 seems reasonable) but those items were not as big/heavy as rotors.

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-brake-kit-front-and-rear-e46-330i-330ci-330xi-meyle-akebono-330bkfr1 Whats the consensus on these? Decent? Not looking for crazy performance or anything Im a sensible driver after all. edit: nevermind... just went through checkout to see shipping costs.. Subtotal $342.99 Shipping total $225.53 Tax total $0.00 Total $568.52 568.52 US Dollar equals 859.73 New Zealand Dollar

^ not trying to rain on your parade but why is it so important for her to learn to drive a manual FIRST? My personal feeling is that learning to drive in a straight line, change lanes, indicate naturally, and be overall confident about being on a road WITHOUT worrying about what gear you're in and how to operate a clutch, is FAR FAR easier. Once she gets confident about actually driving around without issue, then she could learn to operate a manual gearbox without worrying about everything else. Less likely to go wrong or have an accident while trying to switch gear, look left and right, indicate, etc. And to be honest, when do girls need to drive a manual anyway in this day and age, i mean unless she wants to out of choice.. just my 2c

260+gst at bm workshop botany thats including fitting and coding. At the dealers it was 446+gst just for the battery. Lol...

Currently has a 70Ah battery in our 2006 E91 325i but seems to need replacing. Can I change it for an 80Ah or 90Ah? Does it require some kind of programming? Any recommendations on where to get this one or can I simply buy a battery myself and swap it over? I called the dealers and it was 400 odd dollars so wondering if theres a cheaper option. Thanks!

your question was answered. Simply put: the original buyer of your particular vehicle only ticked the options for msport/wheels/bodykit(?) and because you said it has an MD playing that means the car was imported from japan which goes to explain that heated seats etc options were not ticked (as its not very popoular). Also, because the 735i is considered the 'low' or 'base' model, the original buyer would have probably bought it for the sake of having an e65 7 series rather than full on luxury such as automatic opening doors. if he/she wanted the full deal, then it would make sense to get it on a 740/745/750 model instead. put up your car's numberplate on vin number and we can find the options list for your vehicle. btw, the other chap you spoke to saying that your car is a "spec'd out version" - lol i dont even know what that means. each car is individually spec'd according to the original buyer's preference OR is just a standard spec that the dealer decides when bringing it in to the showroom.
