I really do like how dished mags look but I don't want a polished dish lip. And decent dish mags are hard to come by... Bbs LMs were my first choice but can't afford, I want m parallels but hard to find and needs work to fit. I will see how things go in the future not too fussed with current wheels. Seems okay for now especially since its on Bridgestone potenza RE050A

Yours (and mine) is a sedan facelift. This is a coupe. Sedan prefacelift and coupe prefacelift is different too.

that red one is not that great IMO how about these http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-549338402.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-548879725.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-548032222.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-505732861.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-549991517.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-549712795.htm i would personally go for a 330i msport, otherwise a 320i motorsport with the 2200cc engine is not bad either. just need to find a tidy example that you like. i wouldnt worry about the price listed on trademe, most of these cars have been sitting on trademe for a while and owners (both private and dealers) will be keen to negotiate a deal, you can almost always bring the price down! if your budget is 8k, then a 320i would probably be a bit closer, seeing as most are listed around the 10k mark then u may be able to bring the price down a bit, but then again, whats a couple thousand when you are going to be the owner of a new bimmer? not much imo. anything less than 140,000 kms is okay i think, like most others have said, you will need to prepare to spend an extra bit of cash on repairs, general maintenance, and what not sooner than later after buying... if this is a worry then obviously a bimmer is not for you. just my 2c

i think the car is really nice but not $14.5k nice.. i think a more realistic price is about $12k in todays market..

@allanw I checked the bottle and it does meet bmw long life 01 standard. Finished doing my car. Took about 10 minutes of work and 30 mins of waiting for oil to drain out. Cost $150 including 6.5L of oil and genuine filter from bmw. Drives really well. Can hear the engine running and sounds much smoother than before Now I need to search how to reset and reconfigure how to set the service indicator interval so it's more like 10,000kms.

bmw told me they use a 5w30 castrol srs professional or something but castrol edge is perfectly fine to use it meets the a3/b4 and its a fully synthetic oil. got it for $85 ish for a 5L bottle, so i got 3 bottles for the e46 and a e39 which has the m52 engine. its been done already on the e39 and runs so much better than before, when it was previously done using a 10w40 semi synthetic oil. hopefully i will do the oil change every 10,000kms from now on seeing its not overly difficult at all long live bmw! edit: quick google tells me its probably castrol SLX professional
-
No answer to above but I decided to go with castrol edge 5w30 fully synthetic after talking to team McMillan bmw. That's what they recommended. Will update how it is after its done.

Unfortunately what's been done is done. I have driven the car a bit more and I can see why these shocks are not so great. It's very harsh but regardless, given the condition the previous ones were in and the fact that there were not a lot of places available to do the job before Xmas, we went ahead with this one.

by ipod control do you mean it has a cable to plug into an ipod? do you know if it can be changed to fit an iphone 5 assuming it is iphone capable as well as ipod capable? thanks
-
Ended up getting them done at the first place I went. Cost $940 incl gst which was for Monroe reflex shocks front pair 4 hours labour Top hats for both shocks Had the arm bushings replaced Wheel alignment Car drives really good. It seems much more stiff than standard. Similar to my msport ones.

Plastidip basically just peels off. Don't need to get it removed "professionally" it is just a plastic coating and it doesn't affect the original mags at all. If its "chipping away" then it's probably not plastidip but a powdercoat with shitty primer.

I think u should go for it. Recently bought OEM ones for dads e39 about $200 incl gst for just the rears.
