  4. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1916023479 buy these for some cheap falken 225 45 17
  5. I still think you should have waited for a staggered set or go for my 18" bbs! used to have a set of staggered 24's on my old 328i boston green have you tried bridgetstone for the potenza series in the 235 40 17 size? there is bugger all on hyper.co.nz unfortunately for this size
  6. There is a lot of problems with this conundrum. I was about to recommend going for 235 40 17 all round but tyre options are very limiting. FK452 is average at best and not cheap either. then I noticed that 235 40 17 requires 8.0 – 9.5" wheel according to the LVVT guide? what the hell? 225 45 17 front and 245 40 17 rears would have been nice if you had the staggered wheels..
  7. I do oil and filter myself and anything I cant at an independant mechanic. I dont have mechanical warranty and Im not taking it to BMW. come along if ur free.
  8. couldnt help but share, his voice overs are hilarious
  9. its going to be pretty expensive to find one of these pumps locally. theres one on trademe for $700. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1909550000 My best advise is like what Jon said. Look for people wrecking Mini's and you might get lucky. try this guy: https://www.trademe.co.nz/1914902487 also there is a guy down south called "batrust" on trademe https://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=5087646 he is a mini wrecker he might have something. you should be expecting big repair bills if you intend to own a R53 mini cooper with 178,000 kms on it. there is a reason why these car's prices have bottomed out at like $4k because they will just keep breaking down one part after another..

    Bmw 116i jerking

they will say anything to relieve themselves from responsibility. dont believe them. the model you have is an E87 116i with a 6 speed auto. Not sure what you're referring to about the adaptive transmission thing but i think that point is irrelevant. does the jerkiness go away once the car has warmed up a bit? does it happen every time or can you eliminate the problem by being "gentle" with the accelerator pedal? which BMW specialist did you go to? cant be a specialist if they tell you nothings wrong because it doesnt come up in the scan. a scan isnt going to tell you if the trans oil is dirty as hell and going to break down. if you are having a jerky shift, then it has to be transmission related, shouldnt have anything to do with spark plugs or coil packs. an engine issue you should be able to recognise it whilst not moving (idle/revving) to be honest, the 116i E87 is just not a great model of BMW, it is known to have leaky engine seals and the power is very low which sometimes means it is revv'ed high to go faster which can result in damage to the engine and transmission if its been treated rough whilst still cold. I suggest getting a properly inspection done (dont fix anything) and get a report to say transmission or whatever is faulty/worn/not good and try to get a refund from the dealership. there are so many good cars you shouldnt settle for one that has pre-existing issues.
  11. feel free to ask me if you have any questions, ive done 15,000kms in 9 months now and loving it. also had a bunch of problems too so I know what to expect. still do an oil change in my opinion, unless you know what oil they put in and if u know when exactly "recently" means because I dont trust salesmen at dealerships, they will say anything to get a sale. Hope you got it for a good price!

    Bmw 116i jerking

you did the scan? yourself? a shop? what kind of shop? bmw specialist? you have a jerky transmission but then you say "there is nothing wrong with the transmission" i guess you meant nothing comes up in the scan? Really needs to be looked at by a professional. scanned with the proper tools not just a code reader from ebay. changing spark plugs and transmission fluid is throwing money and hoping it sticks but trust me, it wont. tell us more about your car. year, model, imported from japan? when? any service history? mileage?
  16. awesome project. a nice 330i to be sacrificed but hey why not!
  17. well known car, been through 2 members who used to be on here.

  19. ill say it again but the F20 is a bloody good platform in my opinion. it drives and feels like the old e46 in terms of size because the new 3 series is just too big. Also, comfort access is awesome and fuel economy on the 116 is amazing at 7.5L/100km for me at the moment.
  20. Welcome to the forum. Long story short, I would avoid the 116i E87 model completely. 2009 - $10k??? expensive as hell. why? because stupid low kms that are just unrealistic. car probably sat around doing nothing. not good. 2007 - bit better at 7.5k but still, unrealistic kms for a 10+ year old car. BUT the big problem with the E87 model is the 1.6L 4 cylinder engine is just known to be unrealiable. will cost huge money to fix eventually so I would avoid. I personally have a 2012 116i F20, bought it for $12k with 100,000kms on it but hasnt given me any issues at all and we have done 10k kms on it so far. Oil service costs about $150, I do it every 8000kms. These models are not without it's problem also but I think they are generally much better and you get a much nicer/newer car with a lot of good features. Obviously it costs more but I think its worth it. Look for a F20 116i for around 14-16k (lower mileage examples say around 50-70,000 kms) and look for one that has the options you want.
  21. Bump. Going to get a new wof soon before sale. Happy to sel it cheap if someone needa a runabout car
