Ah yea first of all .... i don't think BMW have ever done a V6 engine? If you want serious performance and handling get a m3 or m5. The 530 is very comfortable and when you need to overtake you can easily but its not a car to drag race in. The/A difference between a BMW and a Subaru is that when ur doing 200 in a BMW it feels like you are doing 100 in a Subaru, when doing 200 in a Subaru i would be wondering what bit of car is going to fall off first. Not that you would be doing 200 down the motorway.

i have no need for performance mods. my filler cap says 91-98 octane .... i personally always run 98 its like 5bux more a tank meh.

That is true about the E36 Autos ... they had a Jatco box in them which is truly horrible and plays up all the time. Im Pretty sure the E39 worldwide used the same box (open to correction) i have found it to be the best auto box i have ever driven. If you are looking at cars with higher k's i would suggest having someone take a close look at it to see if it has had the box services ... bmw say the fluid in them is lifetime and you dont need to service it ...... but there definition of "lifetime" may not be as long as you would think.

There are heaps of Things you can specify when ordering the car new. Eg. on mine the interior panels that are leather (steering wheel, center console) ... are stitched with blue thread to match the exterior color. I found when looking for mine that there aren't many 530i Msport Jap imports around with leather interior, usually they have a cloth/suede interior. Go and have a look at both to see what you prefer, also note that the Leather interior on a Msport is different to the Leather interior on a Highline (mainly the front seats being better in the Msport) Every car is different ... dealers can give you a print out of the specs/options if you give them the VIN number. Test Drive/view as many as you can.

Autosure, lumley, vero are the good ones. Worth Getting if your getting a bmw of reasonable value. all warranty's have excesses. Some EG. Autosure exclude 7 series, m3/m5/m6 cars. Dont touch the small companys eg. jensens they arnt worth the paper they are printed on. Both Glenn and BMWorkshop can do stuff for autosure.

park distance control

if you're city driving then Parking Sensors Or a Reversing camera (can be installed if it has a tv monitor already) is a must ... people said this before i got mine, i didn't realize how right they were until i got it, i would be completely screwed without the PDC. How much are you looking to spend? personally i would allow 15-20k for a 530 in good condition and spec.

radar can be detected before the cop sees you, laser is the one that's harder to avoid hence the use of jammers.

its only really jamming where they can "see it" and by see it i mean not get a reading. They arn't illegal here yet so no need to really worry.

Ive also had the Escort passport 8500 X50/X50E in the past which worked very well too ... but be sure not to get the older models which are labeled Escort passport 8500 (without the X50 on the end) as alot of them tend to go faulty.

i run a v1, works great .... never get false radar alerts (all but Ka are off), occasionally ill get a false laser alert but other than that it works well. Only real advantage the v1 has over other similarly priced units is the directional arrows. can get them reasonably cheap 2nd hand now just make sure they arn't really old (there is a software version checker on the official v1 site).

give the contacts a sand on the bulbs and their holders ... sometimes if its abit corroded it will change the resistance enough to set it off.
-
Should move down automatically when going into reverse and the mirror switch is on the drivers side.
-
Bright green would look kinda cool .... duno if i'd want to drive around with it 24/7 tho
-
I thought the whole cooling system got overhauled?
-
im pretty sure the 1 at buy right failed a pre purchase inspection. As for the other one if those rims are genuine they would be worth abit. Alot of what is on trade me was there when i was looking 2-3 months ago so don't be afraid to put in a lower offer

I think they are pissed about the fact that he just randomly released it no warming what so ever. He had been writing it while he was still employed by the BBC and under NDA.
