Hey Quailboy, Being the owner of an ex uk 635 that has been the recipient of an extremely long and protracted rebuild, all I can tell you is look for rust everywhere as you have been told allready, but most important is front guards along the tops where they bolt onto front structure, at the bottom where they attach to the sills, and up inside the guards also as you get huge rot in these areas, check sills, they tend to blow out in the rear, also check floors, boot, front brace running behind grill (open bonnet & look down between bonnet & front of car is best way from above. If it has a sunroof (yet to see one without ) check rear wheel wells as well... obviously check door bottoms, rear of bootlid under spoiler & wheelarches all round, beyond that expect the unexpected ok.........good luck. Cheers Edit- Who posted 1st fail...lol

Poor Tiger, The world is now trying to figure out how many women there has been...??? I figure given he is a golfer it pretty easy really.......... There will be eighteen, not including his wife, she will be the stable nintheenth, as every golfer knows after a hard day pounding the greens, there is nothing like heading back to the club rooms for a little bit of your favourite thing.... The question that does beg answering is this..................who did he play the back nine with......?? Hmmmmmmmmmm......???????? And rumour has it these women are only coming forward cause he was always under par !!

Dude, I may be repeating just what some far wiser heads have said allready, but............... Know it might sound really simple, but check the plugs on top if fuel pump, I went thru this a number of months back, got new pump from Ray, & had car sent to mech, pump played up few month later again, checked it myself this time & dirty rotten mechanic ( The EXCEPTION, not the RULE ) hadnt even changed it out..........charged me for it tho.......... I know this Glen as there was no evidence of pump being moved, displaced & the build up of road grime & debris made it plain to see, a reputable mech who looked at it commented same. Turned out to be a poor connection from the plug, when it plays up car will idle, & rev when stationary, as soon as any load goes on it cuts out. Fixed mine, cleaned plugs & retentioned clips, no repeat performance. good luck

Ha, Asked him this am if it had dropped a couple of cylinders or would it come with all six........................no reply as yet.............lol

Ok Rant Time...............lol There is a greater fundamental issue here guys & girls............ There is no doubt that ACC has become a sticky plaster for all wounds over the years, and regardless of who should get what etc, as I could fill pages on my opinion here, but we know opinions are like a**holes everyone got one just doesnt mean you need to listen/sniff them all right........ Anyway back to the point, ACC was never ever designed to be self funding, it was supposed to work on approx 1 - 1.5 % of national payroll, it was always foreseen that there would be ups & downs, however it was probably not foreseen that it would ultimately cover so many things & that varoius persons within the respective governments would come to the decision that it should be self funding........ Given that ACC removes a great deal of rights from the individual, e.g right for redress, right of claim, against the party that caused or provided the environment for injury, it should be liable for all claims in respect to cost related to the injury, as ACC have taken away the individuals right to seek any other avenue of restitution. As ACC will not accept this position & continues to dictate to claimants, the only fair resolution is to disband the current system & give the individual back the right to claim against the party or organisation that was/is responsible for the injury. This would however cause huge issues as most people would not have the funds to undertake a legal suit, we would in effect become as litegious as the States and a great number of people on both sides of the argument would suffer to a greater level than they do under the current system. However if certain areas were freed up, as alluded to above by Apex, it should follow that ACC levies and the like would reduce, however I am sure we all know well enough that once any government has been able to put into law the ability to secure more levies from Joe Public, it is very unlikely to reduce those levies...............Consolidated Fund anyone ??? The very real outcome will be that the current increases being discussed & those that have been passed will remain in effect & partial privatisation will also come into play.......however do not expect any of the new levies once in place to be removed, we will therefor end up paying twice as much for less cover plus have to pay for additional cover to cover the cover lost................ Governments Hey..................Become an MP and jump on the Gravy 747..................ha ha.............hmmmmmmm. End of Rant.................except for this.............Vtec victims should get support, very few crimes are worse from a trauma point of view. Sport is not work unless you are a proffesional sports person. 4 wheeler bikes have the highest % of claimants of any motorised vehicle, levie them accordingly at point of purchase,as many are not registered. And finaly thank C**st crimanals will no longer be elligable for acc in most cases !!!!!!!!!!!! Ok Done...............

From memory Si, Brocky died in a Daytona Coupe replica, the ones built by Superformance in S.Africa, don't quote me, need to look it up. Cheeta is a completely different beast, there are a few floating around, but believe the one in the pic's has been a long time partcipant in Targa and has been steadily improved over the years, sounds great, looks like a Jag when it goes past at a million miles an hour & by the look of the smiles on the faces of the driver & co, more fun than a broken down e type sitting on the side of the road..............lol Think it runs a 5 ltr v8 holden block, but could have had a repower to 5.7 ??????????????? Looks fun & who cares if it a replica ( of sorts ) if its fun !!

Well Guys, Can't drive em when I'm half a world away.................so here we go............ 1990 M5, ex uk car, 205k mls...............3.6 5spd...............I am second or third owner in NZ, previous owner spent huge sums of money over time, new timing chain & tensioners, new exhaust, lots spent over all, I have put new waterpump & done cap leads etc, has near new Yokkie AVS on it done maybe 500 kms..... Reg on hold & no wof as it has a leaky rear rhs shock, ( self leveling ) best idea would be to pull out self leveling & put in a nice set of bilstiens etc. Body ok, showing signs of 200k mls but not in a bad way, has pukkaroo'd boot lid due to old repair to spoiler & dodgy repair at the time, have spare boot lid & original spoiler. Interior has usual early e34 issue of door card material lifting, not a major issue & all m/sport material in good order. A/c needs new compressor. Due to what it needs I am looking at $8k no reserve start, going on TM in next few days............... 1985 635csi, again ex uk, sat in a shed in welly for two years & then in a blokes shed for three & then at my mates panel shop for about the same amount of time !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has had evry bit of rust cut out, & new paint to 95 % of the car, had paid for full job to be done but as you can see from pic's job not completed............... Has M6 body kit, front & rear spoiler's & wheel arch spats, redid the brakes with new discs, new pads & rebuilt calipers....... auto was rebuilt in Uk just prior to coming to NZ, Car will need to be re-vinned as was de-reged when I purchased it......... Will need bumpers painted, new front screen, ( I know where one is ), exhuast & putting back together due to not being finished as expected. Has had all the hard work done, time for the fiddly bits, I am kinda over it now I'm afraid............ Again going on TM in next few days..............will be no reserve start at $2.5k Any questions PM me or call 021 031 9282 Cheers Oldskool

Erm.....................why ? Can bring in M5 tourings now under new laws & be a heaps cheaper way to go......................... Still a sad overpriced motor...........................like I said last time it was on the market, lhd so its easier to watch the grass grow when you are out for a sunday drive........................lol
-
Hey, Early 530i ran same motor as e32 730i, remember my dad having a e32 730 & wouldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding, think it may have just been the car but it was a brand new nz machine, his e28 728i that was the last one imported prior to the e32 coming out was a much better car performance wise...................... Think it is an ok motor & would no doubt perform better in the e34 body, dont think that they were ever an official import, as Palazzo says, pretty sure all 6 cly 530i are english imports. Not a patch on the V8, even if it is just a baby............................ Cheers

Hey Fella, You do have to make sure you do all your checks & balances before bidding, Auction is legally binding & is deemed to be an unconditional sale upon the fall of the hammer, so if you have the winning bid once the property is over the reserve price, you will indeed be the proud new owner. Basically buying at Auction is like Private Treaty in reverse, you have to answer all your questions before you bid or make an offer, not the other way round. Pays to check property file, get building inspection etc etc, property file is important as it will let your builder see if what is on file tallies with what he has seen when on the property. Also pay to have solicitor check title to ensure it is clear & has no issues. I would suggest you ask the Agent for a no nonsense indication of the likely sales price, whilst they are as much in the lap of the gods as you, due to not knowing just what someone will pay, if they are worth their salt they will give you a fair & reasonable idea, if they are unable or unwilling to do so, then you will have to base your value by comparing to similar home you kow that have sold recently, ask for a print out from the Agent if you are not sure of recent sales. Also despite the comments made by other members who are not in the industry, be a little careful if it is a mortgagee sale, the industry statistics are currently showing mortgagee sales to be obtaining 5 - 10% above the median price in their areas, can only put this down to the buyer frenzy over a "percieved" bargain. The other thing that has made the whole proccess more transparent is the change in Auction rules, no vendor bid can be placed without the Auctioneer stating this, no phantom bids can be placed. The Auction contract is a straight forward document, however it is weighted in the favour of the seller, 10% deposit & settlement usually at sellers elective. Unless you make prior arrangements & have agreement on those points from the seller you will be bound by the auction agreement form. e.g. if you want a different settlement date or have requested a certain chattel to remain that is not listed etc. You do need to stick to your figure, it can be tempting to go that bit more, but only do so if you can afford it. remember there will be another one out there, but also remember that if this is the one you love & will be in for 5 - 10 years, an extra $5k now will be long forgotten in the years to come. Just make sure you are both on the same page & know what your game plan is for the day. Auctions can be a bit scarry, but remember the Agent needs to be open & honest with you & have earned a degree of trust from you, they will help you through the process. Auctions can be nerve wracking, exciting, fun & terible all at the same time, depends on who has the bid & at what price as to which one of the above it feels like for you at the time. If you win, you will be required to sign docs there & then & provide 10% dep, personal cheque is ok, as you dont ultimately know what you will pay for it, most Agencies ok if you say hold onto cheque for 24/48 hrs to shuffle $$ around. I wouls recommend shopping around for a solicitor as the fees can be all over the place. If the property is paseed in & not sold under the hammer, the highest bidder has the 1st right to treat at the sellers reserve price, if they don't do a deal then it will be opened up to all. The day of the Auction is the best time to buy, as just as you are there to do a deal so is the seller & you may find that you get them in the best frame of mind to sell, remember it is attractive to a seller to have an unconditional sale & they may be a little more flexible due to this aspect. Good luck, I hope it goes well, buying your first home should be an enjoyable experience as well as fun & exciting... Go well, PM me if you want any more background or info ok. Cheers Grant ( 20 years in the industry & counting )
