  1. Yeap, But without pics & it's quoting frontal damage, could be one very expensive coffe table base too !!
  2. Freaky stuff huh, Have a family friend in Canada who used to do this for a living, back when he was about my age now, they got caught on the lines with big winds, while getting into the bucket he tried to turn himself into a human lightning rod, they wear big bad rubber boots & what the boots couldnt cope with blew the end of his little finger off, from the last nuckle, in an attempt to make a circuit. He used to freak us out as kids with telling us this is what electricity would do if we didnt watch what we did. Made me think twice about farkin about with electricity. At least you could say work was a buzz hey...............lol
  3. Haha, Dougs right it was too much green to take, seats are avocado or diorrea ( ? ) green. Looks like Incredible Hulk took a dump in the car...............lol Was a good way to waste sum time thou & car does drive beautifully........... Go offer them $15k if anyone wants it..........
  4. Dude, Last one of this quality I saw sell was for $500.00 on TM. There was a mint little yellow one that had been all tricked up an was a darling car, sold last year about mid year from memory $5,500.00 End of the day its up to you, all depends how bad you want one, but they do crop up all the time so be patient grasshopper & remember buy the best you money will get you........take it from a man who knows BMW's can resemble very large black holes into which you pour money. Have to say that all the bloody childish nonsense that has surrounded this topic has been mildly amusing, or at least it would have been had it not been so damn sad................grow up boys your mummy aint around to wipe any of your sniveling little noses anymore...........LOL
  5. Ok, I know we all need to be enthusiastic about our pride and joys...............but this borders on mannic optimisim http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-161145020.htm Just would like to know if the German enthusiast had his guide dog with him ??................LOL

Happy Birthday Fella, An M3 for your Burp Day doesnt sound unreasonable !!!!!!!!!! Have a goodie man, & we may see you tonite for a quiet celebratery beverage..... Cheers Grunta
  7. Ha, Wondered how long it would take for this point to come up, the X6 has got the new trick DSC etc, etc and unlike a toyota it won't tip you over on dirt or spoil any sense of fun that you may wish to have behind the wheel. Also important it has not been set up to be an interfering Nana that actually cripples the vehicles dynamic ability, so it is still a true BMW. BUT ......................... Why oh why did they decide to put one of the sexiest drivetrain and suspension combos in such an ugly wrapper....... I'm sure that there are many people out there who will love the new beastie and think it looks fab............ But I think it is niche marketing gone horribly horribly wrong................ Kinda FrankenFive............ X that is...................should be X rated so that young children are not scared for life....LOL May the debate continue...................
  8. Cheers Man, Those were my thoughts in relation to the clerance issues, so will have to take a look see when I have car in my mitts. Cheers
  9. Oh yeah, and by f*ck, it looks like great value, so less quibble & more dribble both of you.......LOL
  10. Play nicely boys, as yet I'm pretty sure that neither of you have a ride of that colour so lets not take on the persona just yet ............LOL And anyway, given Simons duboiusly coloured car and Jes we won't speak of yours.....hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm I would be very careful both of you............. The man with the pink phone has spoken The sandpit is big enough for all of us, well except for those with questionable bladder control...........
  11. Good work Dgb, you only just bet e30-318is to the mark tho...............he had designs on that beastie since before I don't know when.......LOL Good work fella, nice to know its been snapped up by a bimmersporter........... Cheers Grunta
  12. Hey, Hope it's on bags cause otherwise a few practical issues come up............. Looks like your mates would have to walk beside the car given the ride height, and also wondering if it is really that cool that everyone has to get out every time you come across a speed bump or steep drive ?? Don't get me wrong I admire everyone who individualises their ride, think its a great thing, but dude seroiusly if you cant drive it ova a speed hump or put the lads in it for a cruise, whats the feckin point ???????
  13. Hey Martyn Have a sqiz on TM the guy was wanting $20 +K for it, SA import on turbines, in white and looks tidy all though the doors look a dif white in the pics, but that could simply be a trick of the light, pics are hard to read sometimes, Si & I will go check it out for you if you would like tho.
  14. Martyn, Next time I'm in Welly with the old girl I'll give you a call and let you play with her ( the car.........LOL anything else may get us in very hot water with our respective better halves, especially if mine thinks I'm calling her an old girl ) Anyway short story long, given that you seem to be suffering seroius M5 withdrawls I'm prepared to help another addict get a fix............. you'll just have to give me the touring for the day.................that'll be handy for shopping !! Sorry, no I can't make it down tomorrow. Take it easy fella, there will be another opportunity out there................make a fair offer on the one here in Hawkes Bay, just use Jocks one as a price guide and let the vendor know, given that they are similar in spec condition and milage, the fact that Jocks is NZ new may well make the one here worth less & yes I realise what I am in turn saying about my own cars value.................. Oh well its only money right............ Cheers Grunta
  15. Hey Boris I'll take a picky for you and post it up for your viewing pleasure, don't know if I would change the msport ones for anything else as they seem to have the edge over most systems, a different backbox would be a different story tho............no such thing as too much straight six howl eh....... Can you pm with price of headers, much appreciated if you could, Cheers Grunta
  16. Hey Kym, There is alot you can do with a m30, Cam & head work will give around 240 - 260 with headers and better breathing, you will spend around 3 - 4k to get that improvement, with a big leap in tourqe as well, this will mean that you would be around a similar cost to V8 engine and trans. I am ( as funds and time allow ) putting a V8 & auto into an e23, so can let you know how much it will all cost if I am ahead of you.......... Who has the V8 for 1k ? Our you could talk to Topcat and do a deal on his turbo m30 that is sitting in his e28, it is a bit of a beast from all accounts............ That would be a fun way to travel sideways......... Good luck with it.
  17. Ha Ha.......... Good work Simon, keep it pure, no ricers allowed............... Not that I'm biased or anything............. The M5 must surely be in with a grin........ Its only done 205,000 tho................. Oh but that is MILES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will catch you up one day.................. In km's that is...........................cause I'll always be faster.........Ha Ha !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Hey Boris, Would the headers fit in the engine bay of the e23 ?? If so I would probably be tempted to order a set or two. Engine bay has more space but not sure of clerance issues around ancillaries. Let me know if you can shed any light on it for me, Cheers Grant
  19. Guys If it was still in a similar condition to when I saw it 2-3 years ago it was excellent buying, it makes the ChCh one look less of a buy than it did. Mine has done over 200k miles and is still going like a train, just need to give it a freshen up in the shock department and a new coat of jam due to stone chips but it is strong as anything mechanically and structure wise, so I would say that Jock's old car has one hell of a lot of life left in it yet if mine is anything to go by. I hope it has been snapped up by someone who enjoys and appreciates it and thrashes the pants of it regularly.......
  20. So choose wisely grasshoppers, there's lots of money tied up in this game and universities are big business ready to eat you without a second thought. Si, Are you a moderator or THE ORACLE ?????????? You are wise beyond your years, but could one argue that your wiseness is directly related to having taken the time to expand your mind and your learning by going to a higher education facility ( This does not include Showgirls or Firecats ). The dilema deepens grasshopper..............
  21. Si, I think in honour of all the above mentioned, you should clean you bl**dy wheels properly whence you receive your new tyre young man.............................LOL
  22. Guys, It would appear that we have all grown up and got serious in the last 24 hrs. I'm actually in real estate, and when we had a large concern in Akl I used to have a 3.0d X5, and not just for work chores and when no one else was using it. It was and still is one of the best vehicles I have ever had and beleive me that is saying something, I seem to have inherited my fathers gene of changing cars like underpants so I've had a few. Will be looking to pick up a 4.4 for my partner prior to the baby arriving as she won't do a touring, and will most likely chop in some of my less practical newer bemers for a kited or m/s e39 523 - 525, the e34 530 is lovely and has the right bells and whisles but is getting a bit long in the tooth for everyday work. Have to that so long as its a well cared for bemer its usually a pleasure, will use the e3 with the full webasto roof in summer down here, will be a blast.............. Just think of all the fun we could have if work didnt get in the way.................LOL
  23. I'm hearing you and couldnt agree more However now that Marty & I have had our wee BMW ( Bitch - Moan & Winge ) I'm sure we will put our tea cossies and zimmer frames to one side and sit happily side by side and knit one pearl one in harmony................
  24. Marty, Pleased to see you still have your wonderful sense of humour, given that no one else has come forward and made you an offer on the e23's and also given that in light of the current vehicle market I am prepared to pay a very health amount for them I must say that your current approach is less than appreciated. We have gone over this a number of times, you are aware of the circumstances that I have been faced with over the last months and I am also aware of yours. If you choose to air dirty laundry in this forum, I will be happy to reciprocate................ Needless to say, if you want to continue taking cheap shots at the only person willing to pay over the odds for some old cars due to an incurable bmw illness, I will be happy to leave you and the cars to it............. If you have something to say to me from this point on I would expect you do so in the appropriate environment, you also have my number...................... Nuf said I feel...............
  25. What a messy can of worms gentlemen, I work for IRD as a fraud inspector, currently cracking down on inappropriate use of company vehicles and fringe benefit dodges.................... Guess who I'll be paying a visit to bright and early tomorrow.............. I'll give you three.......................... Well Nah..............just one................ AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...................Mondays never looked quite so good !!!!!!!!!
