Easy Tiger, not havin a go...............simply saying if you were looking to buy one what model you go for is secondary to the enjoyment of owning one.................... As an everyday driver 535is is more practical and cheaper in every aspect of mechanical side of things, but to be fair it aint quite the same........90% but not the 100% But then the same can & will be said about the m325 vs m3 e30's 635 v m6 m535i v m5 e28 etc etc etc End of the day, if you love your bemmer enjoy fella.....................

Yeah, s38 can be exy if not maintained, but improved over first gen in e23, e24, e28...... as had double timing chain and sundry other improvements............. And beg to differ, early 3.8's were mated to five speed box.............. End of the day any e34 m5 is better than no e34 m5 eh............ Cheers

Getting back to post...............you could bring a 3.8 6 speed in from uk or asia under new special vehicle rules, if you really wanted something special go for last of the touring or LE models, be aware tho that all e34 touring m5 were lhd. General consensus from those who know, is that 3.8 5 speed is best of both worlds, 6 speed box in earlier series II ( for want of better name ) was a bit fragile, and as per the e36 m3 evo's the hp claims of 3.8 were a bit optimistic, but there is very little between 3.6 & 3.8 in day to day terms, 3.8 has more boggie no doubt, but uncertain if there are any here currently................3.6 is lots of fun and not a hardship to live with to be fair............... The alternative is the Hartage b10 bi-turbo, 360 bhp tonnes of torque & rarity value better than m5 Look up piston heads uk to see what is about at the mo or uk auto trader Have fun & start saving fella.......... Hey Fella, Had exactly the same issues with my e38..............first time it was starter mtr, wouldnt even clunk as they usually do when they are stuffed................. second time it was transponder in the key............... Hope it is something simple & cheap !!!!! Good luck with it. Cheers

Yup, Re-list was a bit interesting...................there is a v tidy looking 325i vert listed for $500 more asking..........yes its older, yes its red, but hey you could own it for less than 8k & it is anicer looking machine............. Know which one I would have, no matter how gay a red vert may look.................not pink but............lol

Think, central island GM dealers are all the same...............had similar experience with Taupo Holden when it came to paper work, fraudulent personal guarantees, pumped purchase prices..............I could go on & on....... Ok Guys, Think its time to take a few steps back & count to ten !!!!!! Car is a local one owned by a young guy, seems to be his pride & joy, however did spend a long time at the local garage getting gearbox done & then not long after the head work. Just ring the owner & have a chat, failing that pm me & I can let you know name of garage work was done at............ Never had anything more than a quick glance at it, but seemed very tidy in the paint & body department, cant say for interior, never looked hard enough. Bottom line, if guys from out of area are keen, there are guys here who would probably take a look on your behalf................... Just a car boys, not the worlds last mystery nor is it likely the owner was the dude on the grassy knoll.........& if you dont know that one......maybe you need to spend more time reading books & not looking up carjam............ Good luck with it, nice little motor & could be picked up for a very good price................ Cheers

Hey Guys, Pic's of m325i, just needs vinning & rust done, took it for a quiet trundle and is going great, everyting working as it should. Opps, forgot needs an abs sensor too !! Rust in LHS rear wheel well, has new shocks & springs, nice little beastie, ex UK non p/s non a/c, leather, obc, NO I don't have weaves, comes with wheels that are on it. Done 148k mls approx............... Have offer of round $3k so make an offer if you are interested......... Cheers

Ha............always the way when you wash it !!!! Wierd with airbag, just had one come on in another car just after washing it ?? Have you been kneeling on the seat or undertaking some other activity that would put high loads of pressure on the seat in a localized area !?!?!?!?!? I know the wire that runs thru the sensor in the seat base can break when you kneel on the seat............hoping that it has been one of the kids do that in this one as with 8 bags in it would hate to think what it could be...........taking it to Hollywood in Napier, seem to know their onions & JG will prob charge arm & two legs to sus it out........
