  1. Also, you may think extra noise isnt too bad and you'll never take it long distance, but you'd be surprised at how much of a PITA some things are just on the trip to Manfeild. My seats for example, they kill my back just in that 1.5hrs. And I'm glad my exhaust is standard, cos I couldnt handle that too haha.
  2. Hmm so thatd be why my gearknob is so loose haha. I broke that piece off and threw it out

    Beautiful e36!

Cos cars on bags either look stupid with the car at a driveable height, or look stupid with the car slammed. All other setups allow you to get the look perfect, all the time. (Since you cant change it haha).

    Beautiful e36!

Yes. But you'll know for sure if you actually do something about it, and when you're driving something practical then you know you are for sure.

    Cupid.com

Not that many/any of the female members frequent the forums anymore anyway.. Haven't seen most of the old crowd on here for over a year!

    Cupid.com

Creepy. Bt very useful haha. Now how did you figure that out?
  7. Did you still want those other bits from me? Fog light blanks and rocker cover?

    Cupid.com

Well whenever a lady joins the Bimmersport fraternity it pretty much becomes a dating site for the first few days/weeks/months
  9. Could easily be a rusted sunroof drain hole, or even perished drain pipe (as they are rbber pipes leading from the drain hole down to the guard). I've removed a sunroof bracket where most the bracket was rusted through..
  10. Tried SUSPENSION the forum sponsor? He deals with H&Rs. Or visit supercheap/repco and they can order in King Springs. Clicky
  11. Allgood Jon, got them sorted yesterday in the end. Almost managed to break a lot of stuff, but got away with only sore hands from holding the top of the strut down.
  12. Pics or it didnt happen. Actually, pics of all of them would be nics

    Yet Another E30

Now has low. Pics to come later.
  14. Can't wait to see the result, at it's track debut. No doubt it will be something special...
  15. Ball joint splitter got me sorted, $40 from supercheap. Figure it's worth it cos I'll need it again when I can afford new shocks
  16. You'd probably be better off with a manuual 316i coupe to be honest. cos that thing will be difficult and expensive to insure for someone your age. 3.5l is a pretty big engine, when insurance companies would prefer you to be in a 1.3
  17. I tried to lever it down a few times, but its not budging haha. I'd better get a larger hammer I think... And unfortunately its not the steering one I'm having issues with, its the control arm. So new tie rod ends isnt an option...
  18. This is exactly what i did.... and nothing haha. Maybe I need a bigger hammer? The best I have is a carpentry hammer...
  19. Sounds like that may be the plan for tomorrow, cos I cant get it off any other way! Tried removing the top nut in the car too, came off easy. Now I have a strut with a shock and spring floating freely in the tower, with the control arm still attached and no easy way to get it off! I was trying to avoid spending more money as I'd already been to supercheap to grab a wheel socket and breaker bar to get the wheels off, but seems there is no other way
  20. I've been bashing away with a hammer for a while so far, with no results. I did protect the thread though, so no issues there . It's just really being stubborn and I'm running outta ideas. Don't want to have to buy a ball-joint splitter...
  21. Ok so I'm putting new springs in my 1985 320i, and am struggling a little with the front struts. The contral arm balljoints refuse to break free. So does anyone have any advice on persuasion methods? Or does anyone in Wellington region have a ball-joint seperator I could borrow? Also, while I'm asking, is it necessary to use spring compressors when removing the front springs from the struts? Or is there another way? And does anyone in Wellington have any spring compressors? Cheers in advance

    Yet Another E30

Ok so I'm putting in some lowering springs, and got the rears in easy as. But the fronts are being a little stubborn. Can't get the control arm balljoint off my strut!!! Any hints/tips etc? Or anyone in Wellington got a balljoint seperator and, while i'm asking, spring compressors? Cheers in advance!

    More E30 Bits

Glovebox now gone. Engine on hold for Oli.
  24. I think you have a compression leak...
  25. Or buy my almost series ready racecar. It's still for sale for the right offer, although I'm considering keeping it so you'd have to act quick!
