Sleek look is good, but that wing is better! Really suits the car and especially the colour IMO. Sleek suits more plain colours, dark and light ones i reckon..

Hey guys, I'm looking to downgrade my car so I'm looking for a cheap E30 or E36, preferably manual (unless its really dirt cheap!). Looking for preferably under $2k, but might stretch to 3 if its worth it. I need to downgrade to something cheaper on gas and insurance, cos my Legacy RS is killing my wallet... Cheers ps. Would love a coupe
-
+1 Also, everyone is doing up E30 coupes... maybe make a hot sedan? Pretty sure it'd be rare. Sure a standard sedan is common as, but a sedan that can take on a commie v8 or similar? Sleeper

What gets me is people that dont bother saving anything for "just in case" their job dissapears. They rely on the fact that if they lose their job, it'll all be sweet cos they can just get on the UB. Buuut has anyone noticed that what the government spent is more than $1m per person on each benefit? Wish i got paid that much!! Oh and one of my mates on the benefit managges to have an Xbox 360 and all the latest games, and booze for every weekend... lives it up... if i didnt live at home there'd be no way i could afford any of that with the job ive got! (Maybe i should quit and go on UB? )

I definitely do not want the same economy as my RS. It's crippling me, same as insurance premiums. I can handle boring for a bit, especially once my racecars up and running again... And i agree, PFLs look damn good and I'm stoked i have one sitting in my garage

Gutted, that was a mean paintjob... maybe it'd buff out? Someone had to

You know what comes after the V8 right? Reckon you could make a V12 fit?

Lachsilber is the colour in my avatar, pretty dark/mid grey sorta colour rather than silver.

Nice car! Welcome, plenty of BMW performance gurus on here

Cheers, both engines had this and i labelled it when i unplugged it. My ECU is mounted 10-15mm lower than standard to fit beside the rollcage so it was very easy to unplug and sort out I've used the wiring diagram in one of the posts above ^^^^ to build a harness using two connectors from the PFL E30 at pickapart and one of the E34s (wow the E34s have a lot of the pins in use! Like all of them!). Hopefully i got it right

Didn't catch it sorry... think it was Grey buut i can't recall. Those Brake ducts look vicious!

Spotted one of the new skyline GTRs this afternoon First one ive seen so far in the flesh

A lot of these products work on a "Placebo" effect. You think you're saving fuel so you drive more economically, and therefore you save fuel. The hydrogen fuel-saving set-ups have been proven to have no real benefit, and i'd doubt this would be any better.... If you want to save fuel on a DD either get a new DD, or drive smoother. I'm trying the latter, see if it works

It's an E36. My parents would no doubt kill me for buying yet another car, but I do have a soft spot for them. After my sister wrote off our echo i spent the rest of my time learning to drive in a manual 316i with ALL the options. Leather etc, was awesome, and i miss it heaps.. Thats only the start price, and no reserve though so not guaranteed lol

Yeah, i figured thatd be the squeal, my sisters car had it terrible after the water pump was replaced till the mechanic tightened the belts properly Its $850 haha, how bad could it be? Never mind the $3k dad spent on a headgasket change when we had the 316i As for the tappets, i pretty sure theyre hydraulic? So maybe just needs a bit of oil additive to hide the problem
-
Hmmm E36s are totally within my budget too.... Any idea what could cause "Engine has a tappet like noise with a squeal sound sometimes when at idle" in an Auto 318i, 1992? Fixable myself for cheap? Hope so hehe 3 car ownership would piss the parents off tho
-
Parallel or Sequential TT? Im sure you can tell from the pic, but i wouldnt have a clue how haha. At a guess i'd say parallel? Since sequentials are very hard to get right!
-
Yeah, and fortunately everything seems to use different sized plugs/lugs etc, so not too tricky by the looks of it. However not swapping them over would be easier
-
Looks pretty good, and some nice plans too. But more pics!! Lots more! (Especially since i havent seen a touring in the flesh yet )
-
Haha, maybe... shouldnt be too tricky to swap the loom over tho ae? Or if there are any E30s at pick-a-part i could even make a harness for connecting them
-
Cheers, i dont know what year my new engine is but i think i'm doing pretty much the opposite haha. As long as it runs and doesnt smoke like a b**** when its warm im very happy
-
If i had that kinda money id stick with a cheapish car and be looking into an investment property, or even just a house to live in! Once the mortgage is paid the rent is $0 so you can't beat that, and then you'll have plenty to spend on cars
-
Cheers so much for that, now i have to figure out what to do about it haha. I didn't realise they changed the wiring half-way through, seems a bit stupid really... Maybe i should just de-loom my engine, and chuck the old loom on the new engine? To keep it all factory...
-
Ok, so I am putting a replacement engine in my car. This replacement theoretically speaking is the same as the engine coming out, PFL M20B20. But i have this plug on my new engine, which i cannot find anywhere in my engine bay!! And I can't find this plug, attached to the fuse box, on my new engines loom, even though its pretty well integrated into mine! Anyone got any clues? There are a few other subtle differences in the wiring loom, wires routed different ways, and grouped with other wires etc, seems very strange to me when they are supposed to be the same

More bad publicity for bimmers
