The white one in CHCH? Ive been trying to contact the owner, but i see its now been withdrawn, now i know why. Looked like a fecking steal.
-
Thanks for the photos, interesting to see as i dont think ive ever actually seen under the valve covers of a valvetronic engine. Could you see anywhere on the old headgasket where it might have been leaking?
-
Be interesting to see the datacard, do you know what the old rego is (and care to share)?
-
Dont go with the 320i, they have a terrible rep for reliability. Go with at least a 323i or 325i as the sixes are better engines.
-
I presume if its anything like Merc, once the car is in your name you should be able to order a key direct from BMW (pre-cut and coded)? If its abandoned, i guess its deregistered too?

All situations are different?

Christchurch =/= Wellington If you want a 3 bedroom house, with a big garage, in a decent outer suburb, be prepared to pay through the nose for it. We werent able to compete even with a sizable deposit and looking at houses for $400k. They all sold for thousands over asking/rv and someone prepared to take the risk of unconditional would snipe it out from under you. A couple of years ago we would've been fine, but now its gone to hell. I'd take the CHCH market any day.

That bodykit is vile. I'd also be interested to know how many minutes that RB20 gearbox lasts behind that engine.

Not meaning to derail the thread, but wow there are some lovely BMWs on that site, in NZ. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C705239# http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C718026

and all your Auckland housing problems are now causing huge issues down here in Wellington. Houses selling for hundreds of thousands over RV, and too many buyers going in unconditional (3/4 of buyers atm!). We've decided to put off our house hunting until the market crashes.

Fantastic choice in colors, looking good!
-
Dude no, i thought of all your cars the 750i would be the one to keep. Anyone can buy a 740i on TM any day, but a SWB 750? Nope.

acetone, aka nail polish remover.

Your link doesnt seem to work, http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1056820723 How stupid does the seller think people are? its really not hard to see that it was first registered in NZ in 96. And since when do the LVVTA (which i presume is what he means by LVTA) cert bodies for being rust free?
-
This seems like a bargain for what it is? Very high on the "want but cant afford" list. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1054027676.htm Im sure i also saw a grey one pop up the other day too, but that seems to be gone already.
-
ill ignore the huge price, but god damn that is a beauty! Isnt the owner on here?
-
Bump. Patience isnt one of my strong points. Will probably end up with a subaru or something soon
-
damn a manual 330ti motorsport would be cool, wouldnt it?
-
Still plenty of time for the price to increase, and the seller sounds like bit of a prick.
-
If they were utterly the same car, same options, history and condition, then i would go with KM purely based on resale value. Otherwise its best history, options and condition, regardless of KM.
-
are the early 3.0 disks floating, or only the evo ones?
-
i'd be real worried, either its been sitting around doing zero miles all these years, or its got really high hours and low km. Either way its bad. Cmon Dave, add it to the fleet. Not like you will get many more chances to buy one without leather!
-
THis is interesting. Never seen an E38 without leather, no PDC, and it looks like it may not have a sunroof. Looks like a super duper early one, would be really interesting to see the options it has. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1045499023.htm

whats up with not posting a link?
