  10. A good car that could potentially have some surgery done to make her better... But all in the pipelines until I can sell my car.. I think the kick would get him from here to China on a cheap one way fare Edit. Fare. Not fair. Sent from my KM-UQM11A using Tapatalk
  11. Got a bit more time than that Owner can come too if it helps sale Sent from my KM-UQM11A using Tapatalk
  12. I think I could work in a special offer You never know, she could even add another horsepower to your total.. Or kick the crap out of your car in the attempt to place her fine build quality to the engine.. Could always tie her to the front for those heavy loads to help 'pull'.... Sent from my KM-UQM11A using Tapatalk
  13. Will only be a replacement if I can sell this in time... Don't want to jinx it by mentioning it but a rather rare sort newer BMW And thank you, intended on keeping her around for many more miles, but things change. Sent from my KM-UQM11A using Tapatalk

  15. After much deliberation and time spent on the thinking train, I have decided to offer my much loved E39 up for sale.. Why? Well 2 potential reasons: - After having a taste of the 540i, I would like to either upgrade to the M62TUB44 + Motorsport OR - At this stage, another car (BMW of course) has stolen my 'heart' and I feel extremely inclined to purchase her... I am making a great loss on the car, as I have spent a lot of time, money and effort into getting her running the way she always should of, as most of you will have followed her progress. All the hard yards, and big things have been done, and there is really nothing left to do on her.. She runs really well for her age, starts first time, cruises happily and can give you a few G forces when you ask her to open up. 1997, 175,000kms All the bells and Whistles (Rear blind, Rain Sensing, Headlight Washers, Cruise Control, Traction Control, Dampening Control, Heated Seats, Steering wheel adjustment, leather interior, steering wheel controls, 6 CD changer, Nav System, OBC etc etc) Washed, Waxed and Polished on a regular basis, and the interior is cleaned and conditioned weekly. I am an extremely pedantic owner, so rest assured this car is in fantastic condition. Despite having a towbar, only been used to tow twice, with both loads being under 1500kg, and on open road (100km speeds) WOF until August So the list of work that has been done (repair, and preventative maintenance included) - Cam Sensor Replacement - Fuel Pump replacement - Torque Converter Recond - Transmission Service - Speed Sensor replacement - Ignition Switch Replacement - New rear tyres All the above are things that generally fail at this age/km so she should be sweet and sound for many thousands of KM's to come. She will have a fresh service before heading off. I am still unsure how much to ask at this stage - But I would like offers around the $6500 mark (I am in no way making any money on this car) Oh and if you want a horse, I have two for sale too: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=713321661&ed=true http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/equestrian/horses-ponies/horses/auction-713014776.htm Edit: Added another horse for sale
  16. Hahahaha! I was in hysterics reading this. But in all fairness my daughter did go to sleep straight away in the 740iL.. Should have a setting for 'V8 Rumble' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I have learnt an abundance of knowledge about not just my car, but many others, (majority has been from working with Ray on my car to be fair) but also a nice portion from reading the many challenges we all face with our much loved Bmw's. I came in with the idea I 'thought' I knew a lot, when In fact, I knew nothing! And come on, what German car is ever easy to figure out when you aren't a professional spending hours each day tinkering and tweaking! No harm in asking too many questions, I know I would rather be safe than sorry, but Hotwire also didn't mean in it an offensive manner, we are here for the sharing and broad spectrum knowledge each of us can bring, so don't hammer a member to hard for wanting to learn more, or to those who meant it in a pleasant way either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Edit: My car also only stalled once it hit less than 50ks.. It stalled in my driveway the first time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I live Rural - gravel drive, so either 2 washes a week or a wash and interior clean and condition.. It is my baby! I think age to be fair, and also a very blind history with that car. A lot of TLC and time to be put into her Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Welcome to the forum! The guys must all be hibernating with the lack of welcomes... But nice to see another shore person on here
  21. Ray from Hellbm spent a lot of time reading into the car, and the correlations and affects certain parts have etc, plus, I have had a Fuel Pump from the E38 test perfectly on the work bench, but not at all in the car (so was on the go ahead to replace anyway) It was idling rough, and we did one step at a time, so Cam Sensor, check, Fuel Pump, Check, and then the car ran like a dream, so just those two simple things from spending a bit of time reading into the connections and affects one part has on another, sorted the entire issue I do wish you luck! I remember how I felt when my 'new' car stalled the first night I bought her.. Guttering! But yes, sensors are the first place to go too, see how it runs from there, and keep us updated for sure.
  22. Probably way to late to input anything helpful - but the situation, to an extent, sounded very familiar to what happened to my 540.. Stalled, Started then stalled a few more times, then dead. Waited the next morning and was able to start again and get it to the pros.. Cam Sensor + Fuel Pump and that sorted the issue. Not the same engine and so on, and way to late, but go for those two things I would suggest... Scanner should point you in the right direction to a solid solution.
  23. Haha! That is gold, have never heard that one before. I will see how the Coby's go - since I already have them sitting here
  24. I am not a phased regarding a total revamp - Angel eyes can plug straight into the park lights wiring (I believe, it's on the idea list, but haven't looked fully into it at this stage) vs the wiring stage of FL to PFL lamps... I guess the cost of a revamp has me outweighing other, much more needed places the funds could be spent and a $30 halo ring import cost compared to a few bigger 000s added on pretty much has me sold. And Ideally will get the trim from a donor car, but if none is available will wrap or look at other options. First and foremost is getting the mechanical side to her running as perfect as can be
  25. Haha, there have been times I wanted to pull my hair out when reading the fault codes, but there has never been a negative side to it (yet) as the drive after a replacement or improvement gets me grinning from ear to ear - okay, technically the use of extra money on her could be classed as a negative What is up with yours? (if you don't mind me asking!)
