  1. Hi guys, Have been busy replacing water pump, thermostat etc etc on Dad's M20 race car that we are building. When the coolant was drained it was dirty and looked like it hadn't been changed for years. Have noticed that most of the water and cooling hoses have what I could describe as orange, rusty, crunchy gunk stuck to the inside of all of them. As a precaution, we have ordered replacements for all of the main cooling hoses and the smaller ones such as heater hoses etc will be soaked and blown out with compressed air. Is there anything I can run through them to clean out this crap when the hoses are off the car, and when reconnected what can I use to flush through to lose the crap out of the system and/or do I need to leave the radiator disconnected to stop all the crap getting pushed through it Just preventing any more damage that can/could have been done already and any pointers are appreciated. Cheers, Nathan
  2. Bump. nobody in Wellington has one. Ideally want the twin pipe exhaust version, I have the exhaust manifold and the downpipe just need the rest. Ta
  3. Best of luck with the sale Si. This car to me is my first standout memory of BS when I joined, awesome car in person and one that has been used in a way that they all should be treated. If only I could convince Dad to buy it as a race car tow car
  4. Pelican parts have LSD clutch plates for E30's so one would assume they have them for E36's
  5. Looking awesome Josh. Putting it out there, I think the best part about the car is not the s50 or the wank suspension or brakes etc, it is how well it is all executed and how the attention to detail has been nailed everywhere. Plus to me, the road/nearly race car theme is what I love about E30's like this and is the tangent I have followed with my own. Awesome stuff.
  6. ^ From (vague) memory, it had LM's on it, whether they were put on later maybe.
  7. ^Cheers man, ironically I tried that just after posting the question, worked pretty good with just engine degreaser and a pallet knife then turps to take the rest of the glue off, sadly it took like 40min to do a small 30cm square patch. Will roll the waterblaster out.
  8. Anyone got any tips for removing the sticky foamy residue left behind when taking bonnet foam insulation off? Ideally I would like to preserve the paint underneath and keep it glossy. For a E30.
  9. Bump, need this relatively soon, I don't mind a catted one I can remove them later. Ta
  10. Hey Dean, Got one here man, Dad doesn't need it on the race car, you can take it off though because I'll break all the clips. I'll be around this weekend/probably going to the meet if your free to go to that. text me 0278602624
  11. Can arrange shipping if you can get it to the Chemcouriers depot in Penrose, Auckland otherwise local to me is good. Ideally for a PFL E30 325i if they are any different, and even more so without a cat would be great (think early PFL's did?). If any easier I don't need the bit from underneath the exhaust manifold to the joins on the first bends. Rust free and cheap is good. PM or post here. Cheers, Nathan
  12. Nothing wrong with a road car on a diet. You'll need door cards for a WOF. I like where this is going.
  13. Just did SH2 between Napier - Wairoa - Gisborne this weekend in a auto tragic Subaru Legacy still was a ton of fun, would have been far more fun in the E30. Nice cambered roads and barely any traffic, plus only saw one cop both ways Would recommend.
  14. SH4 between Ohakune and Whanganui is my favourite road in the North Island atleast, along with Vinegar Hill. Makara has too many cyclists and in a low car you bottom out everywhere and is far too narrow to drive remotely fast during the day. Paekakriki Hill going North is best, South isn't so good too many potential power poles to hit and banks too fall off down. Remeber the days riding shotgun chasing a E39 M5 down the Hill in Dad's Fraser Clubman, good times.
  15. Function > form. Keep it up Graham best of luck for the Targa.
  16. The OEM coupling is about 18mm wide, the IE one is 10mm Kerry and I have both had aluminium ones made up as a result of IE being useless.
  17. Ollie's (Hi tek) old Lachs E30 M3 in Petone this morning, still looking gorgeous.
  18. Unless you use washers to space it, you'll need two of the IE ones to make it long enough to sit on 'sufficent' spline either side. IE are going down the drain.... I used two bolted together in my car and it works fine. I'll go get a pic later.

    AFM to MAF?

There are threads on E30 tech about using a E36 320 M50 MAF from memory, can't be assed searching
