If it was me, try a few track days before you commit to stripping out sound deadening, radios, roll cages etc, it is hard to go back from there (ask me how I know). You can still have alot of fun with the interior still in and even better when you can drive it home unlike those pussies on trailers You will spend most money on brake pads and tyres more than likely. Don't bother turning up with road tyres really because they won't last long, buy a set of 15 x 7's and a set of Toyo R888's or if you can't afford the cost of those, just search 205/50 15 semi slicks on trademe, there are a ton of used ones on there that would work just as well for next to no money, anything bigger wheel wise on a E30 ruins the suspension geometry and won't be as effective as 15's. I (along with a few others down here) use just standard rotors along with some road/race hi performance pads, braided lines and Dot5.1 fluid works great, if any extra performance was needed maybe slotted rotors would be handy, don't get drilled ones as they are far more prone to warping. There is probably plenty more to add, but thats all I can think of now, hope that helps.

HB bro have a mean day, catch up soon
-
I have heard of people giving orange bulbs a (very) light dusting of silver paint as an alternative of buying the 'stealth' bulbs. On topic though, car looks great, best color for a E39, just leave it alone and drive it

Used both in various combinations over the last few years, Koni's seem to do the job better.

Can a mod shift this to projects, first load of parts arriving in the next day or so. Ta. Paul, interior is yours if you want it after this gets a WOF in the next month, I'll PM you some better pics tomorrow.

HB Grant, have a good one

I just need one E36 window switch bezel/surround now, for a singular switch, anyone?
-
I'd agree, spot the guard dog (cat)

Ebay Chinese DIY Re-Leather Kit $8 New Motorsport Emblem $15 Tech 1 Wheel $Freebie DIY sewing and some new bits and cleaning to make it look nearly like a brand new one unless your anal OEM homo...$Priceless @ Dietmar, have you cleaned the idle control valve and the TPS? obviously double check for vacume leaks too.

Anyone know why my wipers work when the stalk is pressed inwards but not on any other settings i.e up and down or just the washer jets? Fuse is fine, cleaned both that and the relay connections, cleaned the earths, used a test light on the plug and it seems to be getting power, tried another switch (didn't have the press in wash/wipe wiring though) but still not a sausage, anyone got any ideas?

HB Kezza have a good one, I am sure you've done a skid already
-
From memory, you can and will need to convert it to the G260 gearbox shifter mount in order to get the Z3 shifter to work. Without cutting and welding that is

^ WOF till Jan and unsure about REG but got one. Was a great deal I agree, will be ripped apart in a matter of weeks anyway so it isn't really relevant. Within two days sourced a LSD and a manual conversion, have this done in no time.
-
Kerry, I'll take it. Will send you a PM tonight.
-
If your anal like me you might want more screws for the door cards, in the hot Wellington weather they expand like balloons quality product though
-
Awesome Dave, looking forward to this
-
Ha you know it. No LSD sadly, on the hunt.
-
^ Yup. Along with the toolkit and foglights thats easily $800 ish.

Finally convinced Dad to pull the trigger on a E30 after 3 years of trying. Picked it up at Turners for $500, will sell the interior and a few bits and it will pay for the car already. SA FL 325i Sedan Royal Blue Metallic Auto 183k The good: Full SA large tool kit and trim surround Motor pulls great Blue Recaro Leather interior Heaps of potential Absolute bargain for the price Mint foglights The bad: Autotragic (looking for a manual conversion) Drives like a boat (forgotten what this feels like) Needs bonnet, bootlid, roof and guards repainted (also looking for some at a wrecker(s) in Royal Blue) sh*t 320 holy exhaust No sump guard The car will be gutted and caged over the summer with the same Race Series suspension, urethane bushes and brakes as my car (think he wanted to convince me not to cage mine by building his own). He is building it for the intermarque series/classic racing, might even convince him to drive it in the open class/I'll drive it. Hoping to have it completed by March. Should be good fun, after the last one I said I would never buy another E30, looks like I didn't need to now I have another one to play with This car reminds me a lot of what Ashkan started with, hopefully it will turn out as sweet as his race car did. Comments are appreciated. Cheers, Nathan

Also if anyone has wrecked a Royal Blue E30 I need a bonnet, bootlid and front guards if anyone has any, post here what you have.

^ He brought it to build a race car, might flick some pics up tmoro, no f**king around life is short ha, if I don't find him his own one he might start taking bits off my car haha
