one of the coolest E30's ive seen is a Mtech II Touring ... my god was that something special.
-
sorry.. I meant the headers, once you disconnect it from the exhaust manifold .. it cannot slide off the end of the thread without running into the tie rod. Will grab a pic. Everything else is unbolted.

Sam, you should have done that ages ago. I've always had a soft spot for the cabrio's untitled.bmp

I've unbolted the exhaust @ the flange off the end of the exhaust manifold. Now I've hit hte obstactle where it looks liek I cant get hte exhaust out without taking or undo'ing the tie rod. Am I just doing it all wrong or is it possible to take it out without taking it off or undoing one end.?

bought and already put to use, a great deal in my opinion.
-
now that is what I call a staff car... *bows down* ... you need mini german flags for either side front bumper.
-
some just went up on trademe - $250 start reserve - $350 buy now.

I think there were a far few 95 facelifts as well.
-
bump - advice on this - much appreciated.

lol you gave him over night ? its highly likely he didnt see it.. why dont ya give him the rest of today to contact you.

if they're for a 4 door.. Ima try shotgun them on behalf of Graham (Bravo) .. i know how much hes busting for Mtech 2 ...
-
firstly - clarify a few things for ya, hopefully get you upto the play if you didnt already know these facts no harm in learning. 1. Hes talking about an E30 325i .. completely different manifolds to the M20B20 (320i) 2. Pre facelift E30's runned from about 1983 - early 1988 Facelift E30's went from 1988 - 1991 (some 1992's.. mostly convertables). Some key differences between facelift / prefacelift - Facelifts have black plastic bumpers / Prefacelifts have chrome bumpers with black trim. - Pre facelifts have vertical spanning reverse on tail light / Facelifts have horiztonally spanning reverse on tail light - Pre-facelift taillights are shorter vertically than facelift taillights. - Facelift wheel arches are lower on the rear .. not equal heights. - headlights are different as well The manifolds may be different, they may not. I believe the 320's ran the same engine right the way through the E30 range but enlighten me people. I'm sure it went from L-jetronic to Motronic later on so maybe there are some subtle differences. Hope that helps, Cheers Andy

I have a 318i engine you oculd buy for much much less than $1250 .. no warranty but previous owner told me it had been reconditioned not so long ago. Your welcome to bring a mechanic over to have a look over it. The car it is in is gutted, so the motor cannot be turned over. Cheers Andy

Just looked in repco brochure to find they have on sale a Powerbuilt combo 3 tonne trolley jack and 3 tonne axle stands for $180, spanning I think 138mm-465mm. This was significantly better htan the other crap they have on offer and was $110 off. Downside is, its so f**king heavy, the deal doesnt open till tomorrow (bugger) but I went and had a look anyway, looks to be quality shiz. I enquired about a 2 tonne jack and it seems powerbuilt dont actually make 2 tonne jacks. Should I bother with $180 (down from $290) 3 tonne axle stands / trolley jack ? or try and find something more economical / better suit the size of the car.

Seriously.. whats with people pwning zino's lately.. I guess they look like a target being same colour as bullseye but still. Good contest, but I win outright.

someone might know - did hartge make two styles of E30 rims ? I've seen 2 different ones, one looks much more traditional hartge than this model even though I've seen this before. Hartge seems to have a specific design they've followed through a fair few models, I wouldnt have thoguht they produced 2 different types but yeah. Maybe there is an E21 and an E30 model hartge rim or just plain and simple they made 2. edit - pre facelift / facelift models ? to go with the differing body kits ?

well done, your've seen the light . Welcome to bimmersport, be sure to come along to some of the social meetings. Enjoy your stay. Cheers Andy

where does one go to get their brake rotors machined. what price range should I expect? is machining really worth it these days, new rotors are around $100 for a pair I think. what is the turn around time roughly ?
-
Yeah, at the moment my axle stands consist of 2 bottlecaps with a few layers of plywood over the top, works liek magic. My brothers friend's family owns partmaster so I might see if they're able to point me in the direction of something good at a decent price.

I think it needs either mtech 1 or minor boot spoiler, un colourcoded to get that black trim look still going.
