Hi guys, I'm looking a buying a trolley jack and axle stands but really I dont have a clue what I'm look for. Brand wise I want to get something that will last me the mile but not be too over priced. 300 or so seems to be the average lift height, wish doesnt seem that much.. so what should I be looking for .. i was thinking 400-500 would be good. In terms of axle stands whats good and bad ? is there a specific mechanism style I should stick to or stick away from ? I've been down and looked at repco and supercheap's ones but the cheapest look half arsed like they're gonna break and decent looking ones (powerbuilt?).. well are bloody expensive - $300ish. I have one of my brothers friends owns a franchise that deals in tools, but I'd like to get opinons on brands etc first. Want to be spending under $300 on the lot if I can help it .. but still get decent quality. Cheers Andy

Sure its chrome, looks like sheet metal but other than that it doesnt look too bad for $365. Looks mean little if it is structurally sound. I'm assuming your opinion is based on the chrome finish ... what does the typical functional strut brace consist of ? this one has been supposedly designed with the help of "several racecar engineers" so would hope there was some knowledge behind its design. I'm not saying your wrong but just question your opinion as to whether its based upon fact or just how the strut brace looks.

(320i) = 2L 6 cylinder x fuel economy / cost of gas = bankrupt. At least in E30's they are anyway. Others may like to elaborate on whether this mirrors to the E36.

oil could be a start theres always your run of the mill K&N air filter, headers, exhaust etc. Depends how much you want to spend really, but realistically I doubt anything over 10horsepower is achieveable with under $500, chips I dunno.. they are questionable but often seem to disappoint from experiences in NZ at least that I've heard of. Keep us informed. Cheers Andy

sounds serious.. I'd go put a litre in just to be careful, but if just remember if you put too much oil it may not be able to function properly and put excess wear on your engine. If its off the dipstick there can still be some left at the bottom but not enough, you need to top it up, dont drive it with no oil, or you may not have a car when you get to hte other end.

Was following an SL 55 AMG the other day on my way home, my god they're cool

Im pretty sure htis is the car I took pics of on the motorway about 6 months back. Doubt theres any other E30 with skyline taillights and badboy eyebrows. Sounds like it might have been painted since i saw it, was a shitty greyish colour when i last saw it..wasnt bmw standard.

Okay sure, it might be land-locked central north island but .... Happy Birthday Sparkle! Well... well well.. the old 21st.. I'd say after tonight Feilding will never be the same again. Please, keep your pants on and have some dignity. Otherwise, slap a bimmersport sticker on and go parading down mainstreet.. Have a good one man, Andy

Oh man, you have got it tough, I had enough hassle taking out hte dash, I cant imagine how frustrating it would be putting one back in. Good Luck, Andy

not interested personally, but isnt there a couple of things missing in that pic? probably best to clarify.. is there rear cards coming with it, is there a arm rest for rear seat ? $150 is fair, looks good condition and as you said just needs a clean and it'll be mint.

they're your front and rear fog lights. If it doesnt light up on your instrument cluster, then you may have a blown bulb, fuse or faulty cluster (like you suggested in the other thread). If your fogs dont work (check both front and rear) then you're going to need to replace either No.15 fuse (rear fogs) or front left fog no. 29 front right no.30 Should have spare fuses, if you dont I'll chuck some in free with the instrument cluster. Hope this helps, Andy.
