i like to have mycar clean,but the only time the wheels come off is for punctures or tyre replacement :bowdown:

lovely car a real iconic BMW IMO,look after it.The M5 ussually had the shadowline but the chrome on the all balck looks nice. I dont think they will depreciate much more. Not trying to derail the party but a rebuild on the S38 is $$$$$$$.Put up with the occasional oil puff!

also if the high detergent content of the cleaner contaminates the oil its gone with the oil change

i run an injector cleaner through just before an oil change

keep it absolutely std IMHO....

engine is very impressive i agree.The main reason i did not buy the 540 six speeds was that they were in worse condition than my 535.Seemed silly to spend 10000 more to get a car that in most ways is worse than the one you got...my 2c.A minter however......

the 535 has a nicer steering handling and brake feeling IMHO(i have driven three e34 540 six speeds....)

i have some bbs basket weave type wheel 17x8.5 et 15 but they are securely bolted to my e34 535is

the colour of the car is on the sticker on the strut tower just behind the air cleaner..

the headlights are good,when you flashed me on the mway my whole world lit up!Was bit strange driving my car again,was adjusting the seat constantly.MPG on the climb already.....

those two statements seem at odds with one another..Mary drives the E34 only when there is no alternative...doesnt like the size,heavy clutch and slow change and even tho i see e30 as the e 34 little brother she reckons e30s are "boxy and ugly"

price basically the same..maybe a fraction less without the wheels but some may prefer the black leather to the lighter colours...nice car mate

some people,why didnt his mate just lift the car up on its suspension a bit,the jack prolly would have fitted then. :banghead: nice tyre wear tho,dont think they would have made it to Waiwera

how do you know the motor is the original one? can you give us the vin of the car and or the engine number of the engine you now have?The engine will be an M30 of some description!

one thing to do tho...if you find a car you like YOU MUST GET A CHECK AT A BMW DEALER OR AN QUALITY INDEPENDENT BMW EXPERT.i know i was shouting but it could save you hundreds if not thousands of $$$$

fwiw in the time i have had my car(2002 till current) i think there will have been 4 or 5 of these cars for sale via trademe.IMHO its not a 20 k car,as has already been pointed out E 34 M5 are selling for cheaper than that.It will continue to depreciate.I bought my 535is in 2002 for 16000,today i would be lucky to get more than 6000,and whilst not a absolute minter its pretty close.
