  1. give me a shout bruce if you need some local help.Dont know much about the speciifcs of g box tho..
  2. get prices from teh dealer. They may be less than you think
  3. gee you dont have to put your street address!A town or even region will do!
  4. does the 6 speed box for the 540 also do the v12 or are the boxes different(idle curiosity)
  5. Japanese imports and the fact that you can buy a new car so cheaply. The E34 is perceived as old,and I think(perhaps some truth) that they are expensive to run esp if something goes wrong. And if something does go wrong with a S38 it is expensive.I think a huge proportion of the BMW buying public dont even consider a 5 series either.Decent E24 will always be more rare than e34 M 5,prolly more iconic too even tho the e34 is a much better car in most respects
  6. thats an awfully high ratio for track use isnt it?
  7. the BMW diffs are only 25 percent.they are in my limited experience(e34 535) good at low speed, tight turns, slippery surface aid...I dont drive hard/fast/often enough to analysse what difference it makes in my 535.I get a sense that my car has tremendous rear wheel grip, and the lsd is part of that.
  8. how does this not apply to E30
  9. no but they built a pretty good tank!
  10. very nice,a bit tider than my (new to me) R100 GSPD!
  11. google is your freind.I know for sure you can get the gaskets seerately for e 34s.They are not Genuine BMW ones
  12. its a fast response vehicle really, the ambulance itself follows, like the pajeros etc here
  13. or even (shock horror) a BMW dealer!
  14. exactly why i would get he merc over the e30
  15. merc all the way if it was me...and i fit, would prolly be the only merc i would pick over a BMW
  16. find out what oil they will use, then see how much it would cost you.The e39 takes a lot of oil
  17. sorry to hesr of the problem, prolly the only way you will kill a M30 engine...I hope the engine you bought is is not suffering the same problems.Unless the donor is written off i cant imagine why a M30 hasnt got a home.Bentley manual is the best
  18. i think the e 32 have bigger brakes just because they are heavierhttp://www.bmwe34.net/Wiki/tiki-index.php?...=Brake+upgrades
  19. i think e32 brakes can be an upgrade too.
  20. i assume the whels are balanced and alignment is good? How old are the tyres? If the rears look better than the fronts it might pay to swap them, and if any of the wheels are bent put the two best ones on the front.Worn tyres plus a little bit out of balance/bend can make these cars shimmy.

    Cramped

gee i thought 1 motorbike and one car in a typical 50s single garage was bad!
  22. yes will be the PCV valve..common m60/62 problem..dipstick removed on engine creates huge vacumn leak.....
  23. also a member...... a club is a group of people who have an interest in common. You will get out of it what you put into it.As for specific knowledge re cars there will prolly be a lead you can find wether you belong to the club or not... A car club memebr gets a discount at the dealer for parts(ten percent i think) but present your card BEFORE you make the purchase.Other places also offer discounts, but prolly no more than you could negotiate yourself if you are that way inclined.
  24. It wil be a UK car I bet.E 34 are largely galvanised,NZ new ones dont have rust issues...A nice 535is (manual) will prolly be 5-6 assuming its got all the stuff...) +1 on Porirua City towing...hope the car rolls they will prolly bring a flat deck.If you want a thorough check of the car Page European. They have a couple of E34 at the mo,some kind of swap of parts is taking place
  25. cant get a complete build sheet on the web afaik.Go to your local dealer and give them the vin(if you cant find it in the car.Mine was actually under the front seat
