wrap their House equivalent of building paper, houses have a weatherproof(not nescarily water proof)layer under the cladding. The problem with carcovers is if your car has been out tin the rain and is also even slightly dirty you cover it the wind blows the cover and dirt abrade the paint in certain areas.same thing if its slightly dirty and you cover it.Or do you guys live where the wind doesnt blow ever??I bet you wouldnt clean your car with squares of tyvek

I am with Kerry i dont think they would be too god on the paint work,my garage is so dusty(near the road, when i have the car clean and ready say for a show and shine i just cover it with a cotton paint drop sheet that you can buy from PlaceMakers or similar

nikasil bores not cylinder head....Nikasil was an issue for some E34,s (NOT NZ ones)by the time the e39 came along they had switched to Alusil.I dont know if the nikasil "problem" occured in japan. These are relatively high compression engines,if the rings are gummed up a bit that could affect compression.A couple of squirts of oil will seal it up for a compression check.A bmw dealer will give you a much better check (for a BMW) than the AA.

push them for as much as you can.....its good business!.Go the 323,it will be easier and prolly cheaper in the long run AND you will prolly get slightly better resale....

only use stop leak in an emergency.I beleive the radiators can be recored.....Check out a radiator place. If you need a new one check out some overseas prices,i beleive a genuine one is about a thousand, and a new one through a radiator place will be about 600,check out BMA in the US even with shipping....if you want some E34 info here acouple of fantastic sites E 34 5 series(mainly) E34.net while i m at it BMA for parts(in the US) if you go to BMA say you learned about them though the Bimmer dot info site,i think you get a few percent off.....

would love to try a manual deisel...remember the 530 d at jefGrays Martyn, did you drive it?.Go down to She...er Jeff Grays. With the Xpo on you never know....The E34 has the inside out seatbelts too
-
dunno.....500 with the tyres?.Where are you located?
-
i have some 17s spare.... would benefit from a refinish, require 74mm rings.....two tyres are good say half worn(bridgestone g III 235 45 17),two barely warrantable and worn on outside edges)
-
sounds like a mechanical problem, could tru flush and filters ,but i dont like your chances.Any auto E34 is likely to have a dodgy trans now....
-
Fast as at the mo....ie7 on a pretty crappy laptop..phishing is on and about 10 add ons are enabled....variable speed xtra broadbad...
-
wouldnt be a certain 540is would it?. Dont drive it if you are even thinking about buying it...you will like it. Ask Cain about petrol consumption.
-
.......calling Jochen.......you there?????
-
89 will be an M20,E34s are really cheap now, except the 540 six speeds ...If you would want to make any money selling you need to get it really cheap and its needs to be in really good condition (or can be restored to really good condition)easily/cheaply.Prolly better money to sell parts.Check trademe or autotrader...
-
manual? leather? Sport seats? int colour?
-
the 540 is better value for money at the Moment than any other e39....Jochen is your man if you buy one and need tv /radio/sat nav...if you buy one see if you can get the sports seats too.
-
the repairer will prolly use second hand parts any way, specially the body parts...As a last resort buy it back and fix it yourselfideal opportunity to get kits fitted ,stone chips done etc.....look on the bright side
-
e34 clear front corners(not crystal) e34 clear side repeater and maybe e 34 red and clear rear corners)ie all red but clear for reverse or indicators(not altezza type)

young kids+holidays+road trip to far town to vist relatives=need 7xxiL....serious.You wont beleive the S&^t you end up taking....OR a 5 series touring....
-
Well.....I have an e34 5 series and like martin quite tall,My wife is average or a bit taller and our daugher is 15...Amy always suts behind Mary, notme. At holiday time tho there is plenty of romm in the boot for three, even with 2 foam matresses. In an E34,tall adults will be tight in the backseat. With a seven you would never run out of room, and as Martyn says they are really cheap.I think sevens will actually be cheaper than their equivlent 5 series brothers...I have ridden in Martyns car and its certainly not floaty...but it is extremely quiet and comfortable too.....justuse your knowledge of BMWs to get a good un..I dont think you can go wrong, but E 38 and e 39 will be less user serviceable than an E34 or E32,though the latter are getting a bit old now...
-
yes unless you got it cheap(presumably for a reaon and you can "fix it) why would anyone pay you more than what you paid for it?.Clean it love it,and revel in a true luxury car....

Johnny Reid qualified third fastest in the end, behind Germany and France, and thats the order they finished in both races
