Groan..........this is getting old.Whatever you do dont ever buy an //M car and take it in for a inspetion two.And your coolant and brake fluids are ussually changed at the annual inspection. Not all of us get our kicks from crawling around on the ground underneath our cars.

interesting one on the car club website too
-
its quite easy now in hindsight....can see a 0 or part of ot,so must be a 540 or 530.....no response to the 540 sugestion so 530 was right!Fuel economy seems impresive!Auto i assume?
-
a lot of the e 31 reputation is to with ancillaries rather than the actual engine. They were very very sophistcated for the day...(the electrics etc)
-
old skool you gotta kep that M5 just right....its a real classic....100 mph....pretty easy in a M5 Rog....
-
I am sure I saw a black 850 once in Taupo.parked on the main street prolly passing through....
-
But they do happen and the worth of your service provider is what they do after the fact....I want to see what happens when Cain goes into Coombes Johnston and complains, that should be the subject of this thread.I have dealt with them a ouple of times they were fine(brake light switch, and replacement brake light switch!)

I go all wobbly at the knees when i see those six throttle bodies....Very nice cond for the miles Old Skool...

That looks just as good as you described Em,good on ya!I The first thing i do when i get a car is clean it comletely from one end to the other, ashtrays, under seats boot linings out etc etc...........Look after it and you prolly wont lose much!
-
congratulations grant and Brooke..Thay dont do much more for a bit, much more interesting when they are older......be careful when working on the car, otherwise one day you will hear a perfect imitation of your best swear word.....
-
your wheels and lowering would count as a mod Martyn...I use Vero, their service is fanatastic, after an incident on boxing day the car was picked up the next day and all fixed by early new years and i hadnt even filled out any forms!!!!!

these are the functions for all BMW OBC?
-
A/C is worth its weight in gold!
-
the joys of preperty ownership, road cycling mostly but some MTB to come again, and volleyball, when i find another team. Some car club stuff too as well as coddling the old 535

You have learned a lesson that a lot of us have already learned...buying /selling a car can be the biggest pain in the ass......hence the success of Turners and the reason why people trade in and lose thousands..it to save all the greif that you have had.Its all over in minutes.Forget all that though now Em its yours !

.thats a good trick...just hook up the wire(s) and the connected speaker makes a noise?
-
the m20 and M30 have no adjustment for octane ,but i think the m50 does have knock sensors and so alters the timing until the knocking stops.I run 91 in my M30(Its what BMW recommend)and even up Ngaio gorge in a slow line of traffic I havent heard any pinking. The car feels smoother and nicer on 95 and gets fractionally better economy.98 doesnt feel any different than 95..If i go on a gymkhana or similar i use 95 because i will use more throttle (at lower revs) than usual.

Normal holidays for me With Family from Wellington to Tauraunga.Highlight is the road trip in The 535..serious,on the open road its amazing, and when you think its a 17 year old car.I jump out at mums feeling like I have just driven down to the shops!.The best bit of that was giving it a caning in third up the Kaimais
-
Cam I hope you mean the eight replica 5 series, not the E31 itself
-
one two three four five six seven one is a manual, trade me is down, these are only 323's!
-
....good on ya mate.....
-
as with most other manufacturers each model gets slightly bigger. The E46 seems as big inside as my E34 5 sries.Dont get it checked by the AA get it checked by a BMW dealer.More thorough and more specific.

yes....the 518 and 520 are really made for the euro market where some countries have rather large (sales?) tax /registration fees for cars over a certain capacity. They would be ok around twn /on the flat/cruisin the "freeway " bu they certainly wouldnt be high on the trafic light GP win roster. My 535 doesnt feel like a rocket ship from a standing start but on the highway its a different story.
