a diesel should last longer than a petrol engine as they are more "heavy duty"My little 120 is approaching 100k...

ok this is my 2 c I just sold(well fairly recently)my 535 is.It was a very nice car,not perfect but the paintwork was very good and the interior was very good(note neither was perfect)It drives very nicely and i had all of my service history and it alos had the big BBS wheels.I had lots of interest and lots of watchers. In the end i got xxx for it which i thought a wee bit low but not bad.It had 260 ks with a fairly recent head gasket job done by Page European. I will PM the OP with my thoughts

E34 Check Lights – Brake Light/Tail Light/Dip Beam/Lic Plate LIght
kiwi535 replied to MrDevine's topic in Maintenance
Make sure the actual tail light bulbs are identical (I always replaced bulbs as pairs, cos i theorized if one had gone the other was due)and that the tail light contacts /holders are nice and clean ,and free up the hinge wires again. -
i think one of the posters on this forum has got a "box" that is the equivalent of a set top box
-
buy the best e 39 M5 you can find
-
i got a set but two of the tyres are NOT warrantable, you will be takin the tyres of anyways? You can have the use of them

nothing wrong with a manual deisel complete with rack and pinion ... The rack and pinion thing is relative. The OP needs to drive a 530 and 540 and see, personally i did not think my E34 535 had "sloppy" steering i was always aware of the road surface, the straight ahead sometimes a little vauge....AFAIK the steering was recirc ball. The e87 however is razor sharp but that is also an effect of lighter shorter car.

you mean Falkens?....they were fine on my e34!.However i ran the same size front and rear and soon after the fronts start to show edge wear i swap to the back, and the new ones(the rears are ussually worn out by now),go on the front.Do not swap side to side AND front to back as the keeps wearing the same edge.

rust is very unlikely to be a problem on a e 39.Somewhere on this site is a e 39 buyers guide
-
what year is it?Is it a NZ car?
-
http://www.bmaparts.com/ is a place have used when i have needed new parts,t is sorta associated with this forum, you might get a discout if you mention "bimmernut"

The e34 is a very very different car to an E30 or even a E36.
-
plus of course this weekend is a long weekend....sickies more common
-
jeepers thats ugly. The rear end is hideous
-
thats a classic symptom of a dirty idle control valve if it was an M30
-
that symbol in the e34 is as described three beeps about 15 sec before the hour
-
if the tyres are wearing unevenly and the rears look prett even(and are the correct sze) try swapping front to back
-
Keep the e30 heater setup( guess you wont have much choice.i would prefer a more manual hvac setup(air/heat distribution anyway)
-
t box is either sky or freeview
-
is it much of a mission to swap the actual seats(just the upholstered bit) side to side,to even out the wear.
-
you gong for the wrong end of the market. this car will be worth more as a m3,witha PROPER m3 VIN.If you gonna transplant it for sale,i reckon a e28 or a e34 touring...
