I won't lie, it appeals to my boyish self, but thinking about my mature, day-to-day self, I don't think it would suit. Pros - No need for vanity mirrors. - If you park it next to a building with a giant one-way tinted window you could literally enter stealth mode. - Brag to your mates about your GTA5 'paint' job. Cons - Moving glare-o-matic 9000 - You'd have to be a baller to live up to the hype that it instantly generates for you. - Its so unique that, if someone else got the same vinyl, when you see eachother it becomes mongoose vs snake.

Well, my autistic concern is there's no HID. Doesn't float everyone's boat, but does for me in that range.

Coming to work yesterday I drove past a bus (at least it looked similar to the regular type used in public transport) but I swear I thought it had e39 FL (looking?) headlights (no I wasn't 'on' anything). Anyone else seen this? It might be commonplace but I'd never seen it before.... Usually I see buses with those little circular headlights. Mind you this is in palmy so odd things do happen.... Edit: Actually come to think of it, maybe it was more like a coach that ferries people between cities. Edit2: I see google brings up a result back to bimmersport which is no longer accessible.... lol Edit3: Oh maybe I should've used the term 'coach' in my googling doh! http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1283775-I-envy-the-motor-coaches-at-work http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:TDURbDdRp8MJ:bimmersport.co.nz/topic/31744-is-it-just-me-or-this-look-like-a-e39-headlight/+&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=nz http://www.irv2.com/forums/f104/front-headlights-changed-to-bmw-e39-series-headlights-140893.html Case closed - sorry!

I always considered D&L to be 'funny pages' material i.e next to the garfield cartoon in the paper. Lo and behold I saw the drongo being interviewed by some news network for something. Might as well cite a wikipedia article in a PhD thesis.

Pretty innocuous r33. Pic was shopped as it was my main trademe listing pic. Sadly it looks as though it didn't make it to its next warrant after we sold it

Word. The Thomas the Tank Engine theme popped into my head briefly.

Feeling a little down about your car salesman skills?
dr_kahu replied to sascha's topic in TradeMe discussions
Looks like someone's got hurt feelings. -
Kinda detracting from the topic but i thought 09 was an LCI generation year? or is it a 'cusp' year? Anywho, I don't mind the front, not so much the back, although yeah the kit/wheels combo is very c63-ish....

Good looker, nice set of options you've got thurrr too. GLWS.

Not necessarily this but just throwing it out there - PCV?Other symptoms of this may be the rich smell and occasional whiteish smoke (which gets progressively worse as time goes on). It would begin to chew through oil too.

...needs more context...

When I lived in AK and was looking for some headlights I found that they didn't return my calls as promised, and neither returned my e-mails after that too. So I thought "F*** them" and moved on.

I had a crack at it last night. It appeared to be installed by some outfit in Auckland called "ThirdEye". Unfortunately it appears that 3 of the 4 sensors are not working, so might just disconnect the audible error sound and then look into it later on.

Thanks mate.

Hey, My missus brought a car and it already had an aftermarket PDC applied for the rear only (the type which just beeps, no screen/display). It appears that all but one is non-functional (did the 'click' test). Rather than plug the holes, I thought I'd try and at least fix it. My question is (not knowing the brand) are all aftermarket sensors interchangable? I do realise they can 'look' different, but is there like an 'ISO' for the plug-end on the PDC?/are they universal? I haven't taken the bumper off for a proper look yet. cheers

Maybe i'm just being a jealous hater, but this seemed moronic.

I've been in the same boat as you with previous cars and believe it or not (from my experience) $1600 for a custom bumper shipped from the states ain't that bad, but ONLY if it is definately going to bolt straight on (or if modification is very minimal) AND is made of plastic (or whatever it's called) and not entirely of some other cheap material. That kit looks pretty fresh n clean. I would perhaps try to get all the parts in one go to save on shipping. You could always look into a door to door sea freight service as well. I was quoted around $700 USD to send our house stuff (which I am guessing is roughtly the same volumetric weight to two bumpers and side skirts) from the US to here, but it just takes AGES.

Similar thing happened to our old car. We sold it to our mechanic, who, at the end of the day, decided to get it rebuilt as it was cheaper than getting a 2nd hand one at the time. I think with ours the fluid started leaking and it got fried.

CCFL was okay, a lil bit rubbish but at least you get a 'continuous' ring. However, these days i think you can get some with a higher LED count so its not too noticeable, plus some vendors design their rings to diffuse the light better. The issue with LED is that if one of the bulbs go, its noticeable, whereas with CCFL the whole thing goes on the blink. And, if your car does the periodic checking of bulbs you will get strobing (you can fix this though) when driving which looks a bit ghetto but whatever. If i were to do it all again, i'd checkout umnitza or jlevisw for LED options.

Meh seems alright but cut springs..? wtf i'd have to be 15 again driving a laurel to be sold on that garbage.

Sounds p good considering that list you have

I don't know any people/parts hookups sorry. If the site you're referring to is wanapart.co.uk, yes I do believe those are new parts, but I only speak from the experience of buying the headlight from them though, which was supplied to me brand new. I was 'suspect' of them for a while and just took the risk and I can definately say it paid off. Part arrived within two and a half weeks (it had to go from Germany->UK->NZ). All payments are conducted through Paypal. But yeah keep in mind you will get stung at the border for more expensive items :\

haha just noticed palmy. Welcome btw. Sometimes I use international sources because often I am short of $. There are a couple of suppliers on here I think who give good deals, other members may be able to point them out. RE: programming, yes (my lame explaination which you should take with a grain of salt is) the OBC will expect a signal from the headlight which it perhaps isn't sending and thus will throw up an error, but for the E60, it can be reprogrammed/re-coded to get around this but I'm not 100% on it.

I don't have parts sorry, but hope I can help in some part from experience. If you can find a non adaptive, bi xenon second hand that would be perfect but check that the internal wiring are good to go as I have read that they are wrapped in recycled materials which detereorate over time (I dunno if/when Hella fixed this, I'm guessing at least at LCI stage). Do you still have the damaged headlight? If you do, it's best to retain the ballast (or whatever it's called) and the low beam bulb if you are going to get a new headlight. A new single headlight will be about 2k from BMW NZ or a Hella rep. These do not include the 'ballast' or low beam bulb, hence above about saving what you may already have. If you are keen to keep costs low, you can pickup a RHD headlight from wanapart.co.uk for about 800 NZD + about 100/150 NZD for shipping. Keep in mind that when it hits the shores that you will need to pay import tax at customs (i.e you need to get a usercode etc) which is another couple of hundred but overall it's much cheaper than any option that I knew of at the time for OEM. All the headlights for your type of E60 on Ebay are for LHD countries, Hella E60 headlights do have a switch for 'continental' driving, but they do not flip the cut off (e.g think Depo's) , it just prevents blinding of oncoming traffic. I'm not sure if they would pass a WOF and didn't want to spend a couple of hundred finding out. If you want to rice it up a bit, Umnitza does custom E60 headlights for around 700 US a pair which uses FXR projectors with Orion V2 AEs. You need to ask them to install RHD projectors before construction, this would be about another 100 USD. The smaller FXR kinda looks a bit goofy but the V2's are crisp and clean, and, if I had the $ to risk, I would have gotten these. Good luck with the project dude. EDIT: Sorry to address your question - "Now firstly please may you help me in finding out W[H]ICH or if any parts are interchangeable from other models." In regards to your headlight, it's pretty much 'it'. The other types of headlight from this model is (as you've eluded) are Adaptive Bi Xenon and Halogen. Halogen won't work, and I don't think adaptive will work without programming. The other type is the LCI headlights which won't work without programming also.
