I love it. I'd definitely buy this if I was in the market. Slight lift, 16" Borbet Type A's and quieten it down as Riley said, and it'd be a weapon.

That thing is an abortion! Looks like the bastard child of an orgy between an e30, z3, e46, e60 and maybe a subaru wrx

Both. Bimmersport when said by a german speaker sounds alot like beamer anyway. I think I say bimmer more often than beamer.

Top work. Got a pic with the headlights on?

f**k all. Was a total waste of time and hole saws (killed one). Looks cool though lol.

You're in luck. Forum sponsors Botany Motor Worx would be the guys to see. See their website for contact details Located on the corner of Ormiston Rd and Te Irirangi Drive behind the BP service station. Glenn and his team will take care of you.

They look like this but without the smaller holes. I drilled them in myself. Just the olt holes and large hole are there from factory. You might find that you don't have any of the mounting holes on your car so you'll have to have them put in. Might not be worth the hassle.

Some use Torx others use Allen. Is yours a hexagonal hole, or star-shaped? If star shaped - you'll need the Torx socket. If hexagonal you'll need the allen one. Pretty sure it's a 12mm Allen, but don't quote me on that.

If you want to do it right to get the benefits of a manual rack, you'll want to swap in a manual rack. The power racks are designed to be lubricated by the fluid, so just removing everything is going to mean you'll wear your rack out fairly fast. Plus, the power ones are fairly heavy without the pump connected so you'll lose a lot of steering feel. Unless you buy a manual rack, you're wasting your time. Although Foxy seems to have had no probs:

Studies show it's not the holding of the phone, its the talking. When talking to passengers, they react to the road stimulus as the driver does - pausing in conversation when added concentration is required and pacing the conversation to the road conditions. All subconsciously. This doesn't happen on a phone. I notice the difference in recollection of hazards between talking to passengers and on the phone even though I talk on the phone frequently whilst driving. I do it, yet I agree with the ban to a certain extent.

I know what you are saying Martyn. But you just have to ignore all the themed sh*t and buy the basic brick boxes. Like this You may have to go to a toy store though, not just the Warehouse or Kmart.

Because it only works if people put it in. We were going to have last names too so that people would think twice before posting rubbish (make them more accountable), but didn't for privacy reasons. It's been compulsory to put your name in on registration for ages.

sh*t that's no good Em. Buying a new door is the only way to go. Make sure they do a good job and paint right around to the inside of the door. Your car is one of the mintest e30's in stock condition ever - I'd hate to see it ruined by a bad fixit job. When I did both my drivers side doors in the 320 4-door, I replaced the front guard and both doors for about $150 or less, and paint was around $400 for th whole drivers side plus blending. So for 1 door you might get away with less than that. Good luck!

Done. I'm hanging out to make use of my new deck also.

Simon. Labour Weekend. The e30 needs to stretch its legs.

The Car 2 problem is now fixed. Thanks to all of you who have added your details. It is also now compulsory for new members to add a name when they register, but the forum software won't let us do this for location (don't ask!). Can all of the other members please police new members who havn't put their location in or if the name is obviously bogus. Esp. if they are asking for help. Request name/location before giving advice. This way over time all regular members details will be there. Cheers!

That's a dumb answer unless you explain why. It depends on what you plan to do. If you plan to do some serious engine mods - maybe add a turbo with high boost or similar, you will want the added flexibility of being able to control almost every part of the engine's tune provided by a aftermarket ecu such as Link, MoTec, Megasquirt or similar. If you only plan to run a few mods, eg low boost, or a bore and stroke plus cams and exhaust, then you may wish to look at the option of remapping your factory ecu on the dyno. It will probably be more reliable and cheaper, and you'll get a perfectly reasonable result. If you have one or two mods suited to a specific chip, and your engine is very close to factory spec, or you just want to tweak the tune slightly a chip may be the answer, but generally chips are a compromise, and there's no guarantee that they will match the claims. I wouldn't bother with a chip in most circumstances, although if your car and plans suit one it is a cheap way to do it. Edit: sorry Jimmy, you got in first - I was talking about rds's response.

I had one - looked the part, had a good CV, well presented and spoken, ticked all the boxes. Had 2 references from previous employers listed. As is our policy I asked if I could ring them. He said no problem. Rang both of them. One told me he was great for the first 2 months then started to not turn up frquently without ringing first, would disappear for days at a time and when returned blamed "family reasons". The other said much the same thing except after a couple of months he just disappeared along with all of his company-issued gear. Never to be seen again. Why would you supply those references? Seriously? Lesson - always ring the referees, especially previous employers. We hired a guy who had a really good verbal reference from a previous employer instead. Was probably the best guy we ever had. Unfortunately the $$$ in Australia caused him to jump the ditch after about a year, but he let us know he was thinking about it long before he left, so no biggie.

I have a friend with a budget of $10k or less. He wants a station wagon as new as he can afford, with as low kms as possible that doesn't look like a Mum, Dad and the Kids wagon. He's not a car guy, and just wants something cheapish, newish, reliable and able to cart camping gear etc, but still look ok. He's been looking at '99 Caldinas, Caribs and Familias. Any other suggestions?
