Sometimes I shake my head and wonder about you Glenn...

Driving up and down kerbs?
-
Hottest 7 I've seen for a looong time. I love borbet's with dish on e30's. yum.
-
PS PM Silverfox - he recently bought a box of an e24 - he may tell you what he paid for it.
-
Not based on my experience. Others may disagree. I paid $600 for a full 240 conversion a few years back, and $750 for a 260 conversion. Since then I've seen 260 conversions for as little as $600, and 240 boxes on there own for that much and more, but that is two ends of the scale though. Willing vendor willing buyer sets the market....

Monoblocks on e30 cabby ftw
-
That sounds about where I'd start looking if I were buying one. They are getting harder to find. Used to be they were worth more than the 240's until the race series came along.
-
Are you buying or selling?
-
Sorry Sam, but that is not a valid argument.

Flew through the cert. Just a small oil leak to fix - seals are in the post. (Not for the cert, for my peace of mind). Cert plate gets affixed next week. I'll go out to the shed in a minute and do a final beer count. I'm thinking about 87????

Oh, and now I need some 16" rims for the e30. 17" is so last decade.
-
Of all the e34's the hartge rims, and the LM's look the best IMO. I think I prefer BBS RMs to RS's.
-
Nice dude. I don't think they look better on black cars, but certainly looks the biz on your white one.
-
Oh true, I hear the rules are actually stiffer on your side of the ditch, esp in vic.???? Anyway, rest of what I said applies.
-
lol James you've been cracking me up lately. Keep up the good work.

Once you have it all in and going, you WILL WANT to change the springs to somethign better suited to the extra weight and you will find you WILL WANT to change the diff ratio to something better suited to the added torque of the 6. 320Guy is right in saying you don't NEED to, and Glenn is right in saying you should. I would wait until it is in and look at your funds. You may want to put aftermarket springs and shocks in and do it once, do it properly, or you may want to save money and use second hand items. Same with the diff, you may want to spring for an LSD, or may only be able to afford to keep what you have or just get a different ratio. Besides, susp. and diff is not hard to change with the motor in - not a lot you'd have to dismantle twice anyway. Check you have disk brakes on the back, and then focus on getting the motor in and going. Also, legally, as you are going from a 4cyl to a 6cyl of greater capacity, you would legally need a LVV cert. You may or may not get away without one at WOF time, and at the very least your insurance company should know. Just food for thought.

Got them from Gavin. Not cheap though. Must find an o-ring shop up these ways. About $8ea o-ring.

I got "rubbish duty" when I was 8 with a mate because we were caught crushing then under a huge rock. Apparently in those days the schools took it upon themselves to take over the parenting role where they saw fit. We were pissed off - they were our cars and we wante dto see what they looked like after a crash. Was even more pissed off a few days later when my mate crushed my late '70's Pontiac Firebird Transam with targa top in silver complete with firebird decal painted on the bonnet. I loved that trans am lol. It's one of the few toys I remember. Took it home to dad who was able to fix it (new wheels and axles, windscreen survived luckily, glue on floor pan, and tried to straighten the roof). So I had it back, but it was never the same again all scratched up 'n sh*t.

You're e30 should have the rear ones. e30 ones work best at night. e46 ones (and those goddam 2000+ peugeots) are bright enough to give you a headache even in the daytime. Imagine brakelights x4 for brightness.

I have an oil leak form the filter housing. I swapped over housings when I swapped motors as I wanted to run an oil cooler. Now its leaking where the housing bolts to the block so must be the o-ring. Anyone know where to buy o-rings. Real OEM says its 65x3mm which sounds about right. May as well do the outer one too - 20x3mm Cheers.

The edge's prank is fairly lame this year also. No imagination, although I was pissing myself on the way to work listening to all the gullible souls ringing in. Not sure what's sadder - their gullibility, or the fact that I've become so cynical I figured it was a prank before I realised it was April 1. I should have posted a thread saying I wrote off the e30. That would have got you all going.

Haha Nathan - don't worry I have been driving it plenty. Only way to discover the little problems. It's been causing a minor sensation amongst the car-enthusiast community up here. Word travels fast in a small town. TTYL gonna go have another beer. But as I'm not working on the car it won't count...

Anyone else get the impression Pjay has something to prove? Sorry Peter, but you seem rather eager to shout to the world.
