This taxi travelled a few, even if it was using three engines.

I think the first terrorist incident was about 22 years ago... Rainbow Warrior?
-
That is correct - the electronic sniffer has to be low, to account for the much lower limit for learners/restricted license holders. I got told by a mate who is a cop that a sensible person will feel too drunk to drive before they are legally too drunk to drive - don't know if it is true though.

Would love one so much. This is probably the only one in NZ - Sir Roger Bhatnagar's one was sold overseas from memory. They are having a laugh with the list price on trademe - best estimate from this Pistonheads thread was for a price of about 800-900 thousand pound sterling - i.e. about 2.5 million NZ$.

The shell looks pretty rough anyway. Aside from dates, I think all JPS cars were black w/gold trim.

Got 10 in the Red Zone - four others trying for the same group got nothing

The claims on (for example) E30zone tend to be 200-220hp at the crank, with most being at the lower end of that spectrum - i.e. similar to what was claimed by Alpina/Hartge back in the day

Lost me ??? To clarify, I'm saying the car is pointless...

again with the pointless stick

Saw the Enzo waiting at lights on Clonbern road last year. Pretty odd looking, but sounded amazing even on a slow takeoff.

Surely an S70/2 (McLaren engine) is not 100kg heavier than the S70! Also seems a bit odd that the S50 and S54 are virtually the same weight as the S38?

My E30 M325i was approximately the same - speedo read 110km/h, actual speed was 100km/h. This was on standard size wheels/tires. Friends of mine did a research project a few years back for Navman involving driving round in lots of cars testing out GPS units - almost all of the cars (Ford, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, probably others) had "optimistic" speedos.

What a pointless waste of space. Can't wait for the V10 uber-wtf version. Will have a higher disdain factor than Cayenne

11800 both ways - University of Auckland

Not too much help, but this is slightly more use than Wikipedia. The question is does the rubber change permanently after being heated? Probably, but probably be OK for everyday use after, but not another high speed run. Guessing only though.

It looks quite structurally efficient though. Columns are close together=very thin floor supporting the cars compared to conventional carpark. That plus cost of land in big cities presumably makes it economic.
-
Quite likely that all spokes are hollow - more efficient strength to weight wise. Otherwise, it wouldn't be too hard to add some extra behind the hollow spoke to even the weights out I wouldn't think.
-
Go to a BMW workshop instead - last time I checked it was cheaper than the AA (even based on AA members price), and they actually know what they are looking at, plus can give good estimate of cost to fix.
-
Don't be so sure about this. Have just sold one for a price I won't reveal, but effectively a lot more than 6-8k. Guy I sold to was seriously looking at one of the "mint" ones at around 14-15k.

Doesn't look very front engined to me. The real think doesn't look so exciting...
-
Worth bearing in mind also that the steering of E39 540i's was somewhat compromised from the factory because they use a recirculating ball steering mechanism rather than rack and pinion type found on others (528i, 530i, most other cars). Not sure why the inferior system was used, space problems maybe?

Just happened again, and have pinned down cause - seems to be using the search function? Not a biggie, now I know how to reset.
-
Clearing cache fixed it for me - cheers all, nice to be back reading things easily again...

Has a change been made recently to how topics are displayed? I now see only one post at a time, with a bunch of links underneath to replies etc - tried fiddling with board settings, but no change. I find it much harder to read quickly how it is now.
