Ordered from the website. Very prompt delivery from memory. I think for unusual colours (i.e. not black) they recommend removing a small sample of the leather (e.g. from the seam under the seat etc) and send it to them for colour matching purposes.

Can second the suggestion of liquid leather. Have used it (and their dye) on my steering wheel - made a massive improvement.

My 325 (E30) does about 11.5l/100km around town, about 9l/100km on the open road. Never tried to drive it particularly for economy on the open road though. Not really the point.

Does anybody have a chassis number I can "borrow"

Available online here AE53000 will give you a facelift 325i, RHD, 06/1989 build. -
My recollection was that this has always been the case - the S class has a loonnnggg history of being regarded as "the best car in the world", dating back at least as far as the 80's. Probably longer. I don't think "little" is a word I would ever use to describe Pavarotti. On the whole I think I agree - BMW do seem to be going down the track Mercedes did in the 90's, spending to much time on gadgets. At least BMW's (by all accounts) still drive superbly.

Looks nice, but "original BMW 15" alloys"? Unless they are swapping them before sale... EDIT: Is it me, or does the paper stuck in the window of the white car say "For Sale, $17,000"? Ouch.

There a wrecked one on trademe about 6 months ago. Big Schnitzer wheels from memory, would have been a mint car except for the unscheduled conversion.
-
Those new photos are mint - got to be the hottest car on this site...
-
Seconded. Looks mint otherwise, 'cept for the oft mentioned liights.
-
Probably doesn't matter who is support act - they will be ignored by 80% of the crowd anyway. Always happens.

First one looks like a photochop

At the risk of being wrong also, the answer I have heard is that in the UK the M badge was often supplied with the car, but normally un-attached in the glovebox - left at the owners discretion. Some dealers apparently slapped them on before sale. Go to the E30zone and do a search - should be able to find some quite amusing debates about whether the 325 sport deserves an M badge or not.
-
Only if exported then re-imported once it is 20 years old. Title is about right - looks rough. Should be turned into a track slag.

And hence the finished 150i has a price tag that is higher than a new M5. Good story about the 150i. Evo must be the best car mag around.

If you've been spraying the engine bay (or underside of car) it is likely to be coming through the ventilation system. Hard to explain without a picture, but there is a snorkel/elephants trunk type thing on the firewall which (I think) drains water from under the windscreen. Can either get blocked (pull off to clean with hose) or water can come back through it if you spray from underneath. This thread has a pretty good explanation. Probably need to register as a member though (free).

Sweet cars. I think I prefer this one even though its older. It's always amusing when something like this is for sale with the owner claiming how it is such a rare opportunity, and then a second pops up simultaneously. This isn't bad either.

No. E36 M3 Evo was available with SMG - meant to be pretty average though. Some people have questioned the power output of the S50B32 - basically the 3.0 litre M3 puts out a solid, real 286hp, where as most 3.2 litre cars apparently don't get close to quoted figure (320?). I think the 3.0 has a reputation as the stronger engine in terms of reliability as well.

Normally the /4 refers to four door - auto would be 328 iA if anything. I'd guess that automatic 328's are all 5 speed anyway?
-
One less on the road If anyone buys this as a parts car, let me know - I'd be keen to have a look at the front seats (and gear shift surround if its original - can't tell from the photos)

I ride a specialized Epic - much better than the bike it replaced (after that was stolen :rambo: ) Don't ride as much as I'd like - always find other things to do. Having said that, got down to do the 42nd traverse, fishers track and craters of the moon at the weekend (all Taupo/national park region), which was good.

I agree it is a bit contradictory. I would interpret it as meaning if the model range was introduced before 1990 it is non-compliant. Makes some sense if the appropriate crash testing was only introduced in 1990 - would only be applied to models introduced after that date.
-
Unfortunately not. Page 15 of this document makes it pretty clear.

They got a bit higher than that. 1300-1500 hp in qualifying, apparently 5.5bar (80psi)

Was mentioned at club night last week - not many details that I heard, but meant to be an official announcement pretty soon i.e. BMW NZ showing off demo car etc Good point was made that if you went for a 320, it would effectively be two race cars pretty easily - 320 w/m20b20 for the "one make" race, then an easy swap to a 325 when more power was required.
