Awesome Ian. If I kept my 540i I would have done what you are doing. My rear sub frame bushes where STUFFED. Aside from that though, fantastic plan to do the manual conversion! Are you using a genuine BMW bell housing and gearbox? Any ideas of the total cost..

Thats quite lame. Wonder exactly what happened. Nice bend in the window frame rail I see... -
Good on ya, those ones after market ones that came with the car sure had to go!

Anyone?
-
Love it.

Yeah those sort of things. After at least half a dozen.

Hey guys I am after some vacuum actuated bypass butterfly valves. Does anyone know where I could source these sorts of things from? Any help would be great.

That is stunning.

Fortunately its not like a 1920's circuit breaker behind the dash so you wont get a fire.

I had H&R's on my 540i The ride was very good with them especially with 245's on 17x8.5's Did get sloppy on stock 15x7's for obvious reasons however. -
Think of all the BMWs that wasted money could have bought. What a A hole indeed. Not that it was his money to start with but could have been putting it to a better use!!
-
Thats what I thought, I am only in Ellerslie. Not exactly the best place to take pictures though... on a tarmac foot path, on a corner of dirt.
-
Quite obvious its the 540i isn't it? 540i! Three reasons, the other car looks like an M5, is faster and the car the camera is in sounds like a V8..
-
Marvelous. At least at that price it will go to some one that can look after it and appreciate it (I hope)

Pretty amazing actually. But it would be interesting to see how well the cars would work after all this time sitting. Complete service for everything that breaks down, fluids and rubbers... I would imagine the engine seals would be fine though?
-
A full service up on all commonly serviced items. (leads, rotors, spark plugs, coils, w/e) Complete exhaust Some intake tweaks perhaps Tune. Gets much more expensive from there on. Even with the above you would be looking at no less than $1500-2000 Alternatively, save your pennies, drop a M50B25 or better yet a M52B28 and do the same upgrades for around $4000-5000 all done. A few guys have done M52 swaps, plus the bigger intake. Quite a powerful combination.
