hahaha , yeah thats my old car, You got a bargin there as i spent alot of $$ on it, M3 cab's and melye outer ball joints, Retrofitted in the 18 button obc, new door seals, door cards up front but you will have to do the rears. New water pump and and hyd tensioner and ider bearings, new rotor's and pads all round. 3 series stainless door sills. The list goes on. Anything you want to know about it just give me a yell, Did most of the work on it myself

Mr Gray is ok but very $$$$, Try acton automotive, they know there beemers and have all the tools required and you will be presently surprised at the savings while still getting the same service (except the complementary car groom). >>Clicky me for google map<< Off topic where did you get your car. You say you have only had it a few months and has 190k on the clock. Just curious as that is about the time I traded mine in and traded up.

I did a rim clean today (since there was no rain). Getting a bit tired of the black dust accumulating every 3 days or so. I am guessing when the car came over and they did their basic service they threw the cheapest brand on the front they could find. Any suggestions on what to replace them with that will give me little dust. Oem the best option to go for ??, or is there a better aftermarket brand. Don't know if they do ceramic for mine but don't think i would go that route anyway as don't want to change the rotors as well.

14 or so it would seem. >>News Item<< , and then try and do a runner, Not very bright people at at all. Hope they get done for it, I dare say the sentence for doing the runner will be more than ill treating the animals. Our laws suck when it comes to cruelty to animals.

Yup not a fan of that at all. To be honest i have read so many posts on other boards of people that have upgraded and bought new cars this year who have said its the worst thing they have ever done. They believe the build quality has gone to the pack and so many of the basic usual features are missing and now only come if you get them as an option. Such a shame, Dunno if this was a cause of the recession so they have cut back on everything to try and save a few $$ , either way its a stupid mistake leave out the things everybody has come to love and enjoy about bmw's. In my opinion most of the older styles look so much better than anything they are putting out now. Time to get a new designer i feel.

I don't have the steering wheel controls but am in the process of saving a few $$ to retrofit them in, When you buy the unit you have the option of what package you want to go with. You can go with the boot option which just plugs into the cd changer unit or you can get the extra long cable to reach up to the front for your ipod. If you have a look at the site you will see all the options that you can get. I just went for the boot install minus the ipod cable as i don't own one and everything is just on a usb stick which is fine with me. As for control's if you have the earlier model of head unit (without the mode button) you have to push the buttons twice, if you have a later model head unit (with the mode button) then you only have to push the buttons once to navigate. Either way i have had no problems navigating around, But I just tend to have it running and don't navigate around much anyway. As for the display it does not scroll but just shows as much info as it can then flips to the next page of info.

Just a small update on this. I am going to go with the Dynavin unit as there is way more information and i know things are going to work on this unit. I am however going wait until the new version hits the street. They have gone back to the drawing board and taken on board all the complaints and changes people would like to see. One of the main things they have changed is chipsets to stop the problems that have been cropping up with a few things. They have pretty much nailed all the problems with v3 but v4 is where i am going to step in and purchase one. I have had igo8.3 (navigation) up and running on my pc via an emulator running wince 5.0 which is what dynavin runs, with maps that are dated end of 2009 so they are up to date about as much as i am going to get and it even tracks me with the usb gps receiver plugged into the lappy lol. Thats about it for now more information when i get it.

Nice to see somebody has at least had a play. I have the first base working ok and boot and its asks for the dvd. Dvd inserted and you can see it installing the various cars and models, Sometimes it gets 1/4 way through installing sometimes half and then sometimes won't even begin the install lol. Its all fun though playing around trying to get it going.

Just curious if anybody else has played around with this. I have managed to get IPNA + Ediabas working with the carsoft interface and am currently working on the SSS Prog\Man , The later would be great for being able to code the car. I have all the software required (about 7gigs) and am trying to following a guide on the net for doing it via a virtual machine. As of yet no success but try try again i guess. Anybody else played around with this at all ??

No, just have to make sure the right tools are used, The guy that did mine had the proper bmw tools for pressing them out and in on his press.
-
Yup mine were Meyle, I also did the CAB's as well at the same time and replaced them with M3 solid one's. Just a shame i sold the car not long after doing all the work on it.
