Anybody know if the Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner by CRC is sold here in nz, If not what would be the best product to use to clean this bad boy up, (yes i know without touching it)

Yes it calculated on you get x amount to live on for a year which i think is around the 15k mark then anything over that you pay 18% - 1 child 24% - 2 children 27% - 3 children 30% - if you did not understand the concept of contraception and have 4 or more. So the more you work to better yourself the more you pay. Also its calculated on the previous years wages. So if the current year your working you are getting paid less then its tough shite unless you want to go through the process of getting a review done and the minimum amount of time that takes is 3 months. Lets not forget I also on top of my $270 a week have to fly my son down to me for the school holidays as i have him for a week every school holidays, they don't take that into account when working everything out. I could go on and on but i would just depress myself.
-
Yup its going to go back for it to be checked out, But i am also going to put it in myself to have a proper check done just for my own piece of mind. Its not bad at all to drive you just notice that slight hesitation, Maybe its just be lol. I am still over the moon with it, it gets way more attention than the missus lol.

Re-badged, (325i removed and ///m moved up and in) , Also my offset pin chrome bulbs turned up from the uk and now there is no more egg yolk effect back or rear looks a lot better now.

Mate you would be charging me $200 if i turned up in a skirt and smiled at you hahahahahaha

Yeah its a pity there is so much crap out there i have seen some on trade me for $80 that have a usb interface, Carsoft is ok and i have owned that once and in fact sold it to an Admin on here but requires an rs232 serial port and i don't have that old computer any more and my new one does not have the older port or a pcimica (sp) port either. Gonna put it in next week anyway to get a full and proper read out to see if anything pops up. Think the charge is around the $50 - $65 mark for a full diagnostics.
-
Yup know where you are coming from, Its just handy to be able to output the faults , when they charge you $$ down here just for a reading having your own scanner and getting the fault codes and posting them on here to give you an idea of where to go next can save you a few $$

Sigh sigh and sigh again. On the topic of child support. How they work it out is a complete arse of an idea. Currently I pay $270 per week in child support for 1 yes 1 child. My ex works and so does her partner so their combined income as well as my child support keeps them in lets just say a rather healthy lifestyle. I have no problem paying child support what so ever but the way its calculated sucks. Here i am paying $$$ when some dole arse bludger that does not want to even work pays a piss arse $10 a week. Look i can understand where there are genunie case of people being on the unemployment benefit but i would dare say there are more who are just to lazy to want to work or maybe they just got sick of paying through the nose for child support and just decided hey bugger this might as well just go on the dole. Needless to say this is a rather contentious subject with me. The more i try and get ahead in life by working my arse off the more i get penalized and the more i have to pay in child support, lets not forget i also have a partner to support (she does work part time). So yeah as i said sigh and sigh again.

Yup thanks for that Glenn will get it scanned next week to see what faults are being thrown out. On that topic can anybody suggest a cheap ob scanner that will display any fault codes. Not to worried about having to clear things just displaying the fault codes would be ok i don't mind even searching for the codes specific meaning.
-
I am getting what feels like a hesitation or bogging down on acceleration until it hits around the 3k mark then its fine after that, I have not been in to have it scanned or anything yet and a brief search around show's this fault as being common and attributed to the vanos seals. These guys here sell an upgraded seal kit that will offer no more problems http://www.beisansystems.com/products.html. Anybody heard of them before or come across this fault before. What sort of cost would i be looking at if i had to get this done but provided the seals ??. Its not a major problem at the moment just annoying or maybe the 46er's are like this ???

I have an aftermarket one that i took out of mine when i sold it, It has usb input in the front as well as sd card, lights up orange as compared to most other aftermarket one's, Has adapter plug on it so its plug and play. Trouble is i am after $100 for it so you might be better off with one of the other offer's. If not let me know and i can send you some pics if you want.

Read through this thread just before. Now don't get me wrong i am covered in tattoo's myself but to get a bmw roundel seems a bit silly to me. However different strokes for different folks and each to their own. The lady on the second page of the thread does not look to shabby though (except for the roundel). >>Clicky me<<

don't forget Plays MP3 / WMA / iTunes (AAC) files

It can handle anything up to 32gig in the form of a usb stick i think, I currently have an 8gig one that has all my music on for car use, I used to use it in my E36 because i had a head unit in there that had a usb port, But because the E46 has a completly different layout i don't want to put a head unit in that looks stupid and out of place with one of those blanking plates you can buy thats why i am sticking with oem. I love the clean no clutter look of how it is just standard, Plus it displays id3 tags of what playing on the oem setup. Will be interesting to see how it all goes i guess as it is a low cost solution to the problem i had as i was going to shell out for the DICE system but then i would have had to buy an ipod as well. There will be pictures abound once it turns up (i am terrible for that my missus thinks i am nuts lol)

I am not an audiophile so don't really care, I don't have the music playing at a million decibels i just don't want to be changing cd's all the time on a long trip hence the purchase of this product.
-
heheheh yup , Oh and it was $230.44 all up , I did it via paypal as i don't like using my credit card details directly if i did however if you use IRISH5 for the coupon you get a $5 discount USD i presume. Anyway when it turns up i will do a decent review of it but it does look promising.

Very nice welcome aboard

Do you really need a touring ??, Back seats can fold down in the sedan if you wanted extra space, Dunno just a suggestion , Really pays to look around, Down here in chch cars seem more expensive than say up in aucks for the same thing not sure further down your way. Your partner may find driving the sedan better than a touring but then again i have never driven a touring before so i am probably way off base. I love my upgrade to the e46 to bits (except for the $300 speeding ticket - Yes my fault and i fully admit it). Same with any car though pays to take it to somebody for a full pre purchase inspection. Coolant systems are the main thing i have seen on the 46'ers tend to do the expansion tank in. But also like any car if it has been maintained properly and there are records of that then things should be fine. Glenn would be able to say any other main things to look for.

Ok so i posted a little while back about getting a DICE setup for my car, Only problem is that i would also have to buy an ipod as well to use it and this all compounds into $$. So while looking around today i just happened to stumble onto this which looks very promising. Its cheaper than the DICE setup but the main thing is you just plug a usb stick into it which is what i was looking for all along. There are some other usb options out there but they are $250usd plus where as this is only $130usd. Also for an extra $20 you can buy a cable to plug into it which connects to your ipod if you want anyway. Also has 3.5mm socket for connecting other audio. Plus they even throw in a 2 gig usb stick to go with it. I am looking very hard at this device and found a thread about it and it seems pretty good. Its also firmware upgradeable which is even better. Anyway checkout the link to the product i am looking at and see what you think. >> Clicky me for the GROM USB device<< Edit : Total cost including shipping to my door is $230.44 NZD , Now thats pretty bloody good so i have gone ahead and purchased one.
-
Nice thanks for that works a charm, Pity they never mention that in the manual, well nothing i could see anyway.
-
With $45USD shipping costs via UPS (they will only ship via this) total cost for kit is $270nzd
-
On contacting them directly they said they would be able to and were going to give me a quote on shipping.
-
Am looking at buying the DICE ipod intergration system for my car but going though the checkout process to see how much they would charge for shipping (i have seen some items where the shipping is more than the product). In the end of going through all there system to reach the final price i was given this. Bit of a shame really.

I thought it was like the obc i put into the e36 Glenn where you could reset the km/l and average speed. Ie when you go on a long trip you can reset them to see how you go. On the e36 obc you could be on either of those displays and reset it so it start off from where you reset it. Maybe this is not possible on the e46 obc.

Hmmmm, Nope does not seem to do anything
