The Mid's are prone to the lcd panel giving up so that may be your problem. Are the lights at the top lighting up at all ?? You can do the climate control coversion but will cost you quite a bit of $$ Here are some pics i found of the heater core. In the first pic, its the black box in the center. It's located right behind your MID and you could see it if you remove it. You would need a heater core from a 1996 or newer i think also the control panel.

Did you test that function out while you were driving, Be interesting to see if it returned a result, I know when i retro fitted the 18 button in one of the new lines you had to run from the back of the cluster was one from the back of the speedo to the obc.

Bmw only made one obc for the e36 that was the 18 button one, All the others such as the 7 and 11 button are actually "mid" displays (Multifunction information display)

Guys I know some of you know that I repair these units. Since i am getting to much grief from trademe doing these i might as well advertise the fact that i can repair these on my site and on here. If you don't want to try doing it yourself i can do it for what i think is a pretty reasonable price. Total cost to you is $55, the $5 is the postage back to you so in essence its costing you $50. This is pretty reasonable considering how much a wreckers would charge you for one. (Sorry Ray not trying to step on your toe's and i do not know how much you would charge for one, I know some wreckers charge between $120 - $160). Just trying to do them at a low price to help people out and of course make a little extra money for myself which of course would be spent on my car lol.

Yup those window regulators are a bitch to change out, That's why i just dropped mine off to the service center with a decent one from Brent and said ring me when its done

Stop teasing me you buggers i can't afford it at the moment

I was thinking of getting one but alas i feel that $900 is way over the top for just a plate, To much of a monopoly over the plate's these buggers have now if they were in the $300 ball park then i would jump one one. Damn : Mspec is gone , Knew it would be lol

And now they are on, Very easy install, Make sure the plastic sill is very very clean then peal backing and stick. The backing is super adhesive so you have to make sure your first attempt is 100% spot on. The Sills are stainless steel around the 1/2mm thickness so they are not just flimsy stick on's. I am more than happy with the final look. Pictures don't do them justice as they look 100% better in person on the car. I know this is not everybody's cup of tea but i like the look and lets be honest you only see them when opening or closing the door. Should you get a set ?? , Well everybody's taste is different, I just wanted something to personalize my car for me so i am more than happy with the purchase.

Update : Turned up today, Very well packaged and to be honest look even better in person than they looked on ebay. Going to put them on this arvo so will take some more pics then. The photo's don't do the quality of them justice.
