I am not a big fan of the lids, Used to be but not now. I would more like to have the lower style lids, But each to there own and it does not really matter what other people think if you are stoked with them then thats all that matters.

That is just so epic its not funny

I had all my door cards done not so long ago, They melted the plastc tabs off from the back removed the cloth and scrapped away the glue. When these were all made the glue was made from a recylcled material, little did they realise over time this would degrade and just turn to dust. Anyway they recovered mine in a material of my choice and it was put back in with cupscrews, Now they look bloody fantastic, Cost me $60 each but i think the quality of the work that was done and the final result was way worth it.

I think my battery is on the way out and i am going to have to replace it. I think that maybe the battery that is currently in it is not the correct type. Its currently got a N50ZL and is branded THOR heavy duty. I know nothing about what would be the best type to put into my E36 323i, Any suggestions on best ones and prices.

Ok update on this, I went into town to buy the capacitor that was mentioned and on the way i had a dead climate control. Seems we cannot get the 0.47 microfarad 50 volt tantalum capacitor that was mentioned (they rang around a few places for me as well), We went for the 0.47 microfarad 35 volt tantalum capacitor. Anyway got the part home (Climate control goes into fail safe mode and blasts you with full fan power on hot). Took it to pieces and replaced this piece here. With this piece Put everything back together closed my eyes and crossed my fingers and low and behold a nice bright display with everything working again. Price of part was $1.50, I bought 2 just incase i broke a leg off the first one or something.

Yup i think what the guy says in his article is the problem i am having, I just went to go get the part he mentions and half way there it just started working, $1.50 for the part so will replace it this weekend, Will take some better photo's of the circuit board and which one i replace so people can see it clearer and may save some people $$ on here if they want to do the same thing. He reckons 4 years down the track and its still working 100%

If its not one thing its another, This morning when driving home i noticed that the display on my climate control was dark, I thought at first the back light may have gone but pushing the buttons nothing would happen. When i got home i turned the car off waited a few minutes then turned it back on and low and behold everything was as per normal with nice bright display and everything working. I thought cool maybe it was just a glitch, so i turned the car off then back on again and now i have nothing at all, Just a black display, You can hear the little fan turning but thats it, If you start the car the little fan on the temp unit goes off and after about 10 seconds running you hear the ac compressor engage. I did a bit of a search this morning and this is the only thing that i could find on my problem, I don't think it the capacitor pack for the fans as before the whole thing went dead the fans were working fine. Has anybody else just had theirs go dead with the same problem i am getting. I don't want to go spending $100 to swap the unit over if i could fix it as per this article. >>Click here<<

While surfing around the other day i came across this blog from a guy called Doug and his blog about his bmw's. He has written a comprehensive detailed log of all the work he has had done on his 1998 328is (E36), It has some interesting reading if you care to follow the link here. >>Dougs's 328is<< . (scroll right down the bottom and read from there up) (also if you click on the dates in blue it shows a more detailed account of what was done. Some good tips in there to read). Then there is also a detailed account of when he ordered a brand new 2006 330ci (E46) which also makes for interesting reading. >>Dougs 330ci<<. Hope you find them interesting reading.

I had my box out the other day and as long as you have a long enough blade on the screw driver you should just be able to screw it out (philips). If you are taking your glove box out be careful when putting it back in as there are two lock tabs at the top and if you don't have them clip in properly you will end up with the front door sagging on your glovebox.

Yup i will grab them off you Nick, Pm sent

Has anybody delt with these guys before, This is not a bad price to do the whole lot at once, Just wanna know what their quality is like and is a just a case of swap one out for the other type of thing. >>Clicky me<<

Following on from one of my other threads i have had a look around and have found 2 different types of clear indicator lights. In your opinion which ones would be the best the projector type of the frosted type. See pics of the the two types.

Looking great mate, The back just blends in so nice, Its such a shame we have to have plates up front.

Here is a full diy on doing it, has instructions for both 7 and 11 button units, I was going to do it myself but cannot find the 18 button and stalk at a reasonable price. >>Click here <<

Do you mean these type >>Clicky<< or these >>Clicky 2 <<

Was at the super market today and had parked up the top in eastgate which i have never been up there before and i thought this would be a good place to take some snaps. My camera is a Canon powershot A630 and has functions that are available up the wahzoo but i have no idea how to use them so just had it on auto. Anyway these are the snaps i took after i got the missus to get out of the car
