I am doing mine shortly as i have the same problem, Mine only just passed last time but needs doing. My remedy, I have ordered some solid outer ball joints from Gavin and am just waiting them to turn up, Also on advice i have purchased some solid M3 CAB's from Gavin to put in as well. Because i do not have the equipment to do myself as the outers have to be pressed out i have been quoted around $200 to do the swap. So for me adding it all up. Out ball joints (solid type) $115 approx Solid M3 CAB's $115 Labour to swap out $200 Total - $430 , That may seem alot but for alot better handling and something that will never have to be done again in my life time i am ok with it.

Thats what i thought, Maybe its just me i think maybe i am starting to see things that are not there because i am looking to hard.

I was in at our dealership today sorting out a price on getting some work done, They were busy as hell and we were standing in the office and you could see my car out the window. He mentioned something about my car looking like it was lowered in the back but as far as i know nothing has ever been done to it. Looking underneath i can see nothing that has been changed in the way of lowering. Is there any tell tail signs that it has been lowered that i would be able to spot ??. Maybe the springs are starting to sag making it look lowered ??. Standing back and looking at it i can see what he was saying it does look a little lowered or could it just be me. I am not into lowered cars and as far as i know mine is just stock standard. I would prefer to have mine with that slight downhill slant from back to front. The pic in my sig does not really show it as its taken side on and not straight on to the side.

If you have the digital aircon then you should be able to access this function, If i can on mine i cannot see why you can't on yours.

HB Glenn , Hope you have taken some time out for the day or even better still the day off to celebrate. Thanks for all the wonderful advice you hand out here, you have pulled myself and i am sure no doubt others out of the crapper when we did not know where to look next.

Pretty sure its the 18 button one it does not work on the 11 button one, If you push the buttons they say it comes up with funkion or something like that. But the secret function on the digital air con works great i put mine on 7 and you have the digital spedo lol.

Quite often when i sit down to relax and jump on the old laptop to do some surfing and of course some looking around bimmersport i plug the old headphones in and listen to some music. Of course because i have the headphones on nobody can hear so i listen to music i would normally be to embarrassed to listen to if anybody else could hear. I thought about this the other day and thought i wonder if anybody else does this, ie listen to music but not admit to liking it. I did a bit of a search on this and the most popular music listened to that nobody will admit is wait for it. AQUA. Well bugger me i have aqua's greatest hits on my play list and yup i will come clean i listen to it , only on the headphones though i would not have it blasting on the stereo, think i would be to embarrassed to do that. What do you listen to but would not admit it ?????????

Was browsing around the net today and found out a couple of things i did not know that were available on my e36, Tried them out and blow me down they work. First one is, After you park the car you can switch on the parking lights on one side of the car only. To do this, just switch the car off and push the indicator stalk all the way up or down. The right or the left parking light will turn on. Second one i came across was if you have any of the windows down when you lock the car they will auto close, I knew that if i kept the key turned to the left while locking they would close (closes the sun roof as well), But just locking the car will close the windows but leave the sun roof open. third one was and this is something that happens on mine but did not really occur to me is the speed sensitive wipers, When i am stopped they stop and as i start to speed up, there's about 3 settings before they run at normal speed. last one was the secret function on the digital climate control. The display mode is called up by pressing the "AUTO" and "REAR DEFOGGER" buttons simultaneously. 12 displays are available and you can toggle through them by pressing the fan rocker switch. Test number Function Test 1 Interior Temp Sensor Test 2 Exterior Temp sensor Test 3 Left Heater Core Sensor Test 4 Right Heater Core Sensor Test 5 Evaporator Temp Sensor Test 6 Engine Speed Input Test 7 Road Speed Input Test 8 "Y" Factor Value . . . Anyone knows what is this? Test 9 Fresh Air Flap Position in % (99.5% Max.) Test 10 AUC Sensor Voltage (if equipped) Test 11 Battery Voltage Test 12 Software Version The sensor display functions are exited by pressing "RECIRC" and "AUTO" buttons simultaneously and also by turning the ignition off. The decimal point is not shown therefore 66.5% would show as 665 All temp displays are in degrees centigrade. Negative values are indicated with minus sign... Anybody got any else they can add.

I recieved the cover the other day, Took way less time than i thought as i mentioned in another thread. Took it to a place this morning and the guy put it on for free for me, What a legend and a bloody good bloke. Took old center unit out cut carpet away where i needed to so everything would fit and about an hour later and a couple of trips to get some proper bolts etc its all done. Following are some pics. First is it covered followed by center console removed and main bracket put in place, then a pic of it all installed from the back and finally the whole thing. Yippee now i have somewhere to rest my arm. Thanks to Brent for doing me a decent price on the whole unit and sorting out where it went to when the friken couriers tried to do a number on me.

I am pretty sure the whole center console needs to be replaced, The one i am getting off of Brent is the complete center console unit. The end where the armrest is looks completly different to the one in my car, But with my current standard one off if you look under the carpet the holes are already there for the armrest version. Brent has another center unit from what i understand, Shoot him a pm i am sure he would be able to hook you up.

Yup +1 on both those comments

I just love it when a day comes together and everything just falls into place. I work night-shift and today was a nice day outside so i thought right time to do my front rotors. I had purchased a set of rotors and pads 2 weeks ago and having done the back rotors and pads a month ago now was the time to do the front. Front up on stands and first the right hand then the left, Took about 2 hours (yeah i am slow). Everything just came off with ease no problems at all. Just as i am finishing up i hear a courier pull up and bugger me he has the gauge cluster rings and new armrest cover i had purchased off of eBay last week. Now this surprised me as they came from the UK and i was expecting them to be at least a couple of weeks. Both items are better than i thought they would be and the armrest cover looks fantastic, As soon as the center armrest console turns up from Brent i will be taking it into a place down here to have it put on properly. Next out comes the gauge cluster and gets pulled a part, Take the new chrome rings out of the packet and with a bit off elbow greese they snap in. Man they look great can't wait to see them all lit up on the way to work tonight. Will put a pic up of them at the end of this but i tell ya the pic does not do them justice. Last week Gavin sent me a set of M3 CAB's that will go in when the solid ball-joints arrive so yeah just you dont love it when everything goes so much better than you think and at the end of the day you feel like a pig in sh*t
