Yep it's definetly not a dogleg aren't they Getrag 245 or 265's? I've got two here that are from 325 sport's haven't gone though the ratios as yet but thought you would find this weird as the info I saw suggested they never came out with them, they are a much larger box !! apparently there is also a 525 e34 sport that has them aswell

So Dave work this one out, I've got one of these e30 325 sport boxes here and it's virtually identical to a e36 m3 3.0 gearox the only difference is two tabs for another mount on the bottom of the gearbox same part number aswell, Now I'm really confused!

Thanks thats exactly the right amount of convincing I need to go to an aftermarket ECU will save a big headache I feel and tuneable so that will be interesting. Will rip into it in the new year

The V12 is all alloy- so won't weigh too much more than a cast iron block m50 etc plus this project is more about cool not outright power and speed, my SR powered one will leave most v8 powered cars for dead with such good power to weight so thats not really the goal for this car.

As the guys above have said it sounds like it may be the Viscous fan clutch. I sell alot of these for BMW's which have similar symptoms, you would think it would only be at the lights it would get hot but it can be whilst driving too. Also if the waterpump impellar is starting to fail it can show similar signs but when it's totally gone it will get hot quick and WILL overheat. you can try checking the fan, see if it has any foward to back movement,if it's really easy to spin when the engine is hot (engine off) it maybe gone. Check thermostat, both top and bottom hoses should be hot to touch when engine is hot and up to temp, Can do you a new Viscous clutch for $140 BS Price PM if interested

I'm not to familar with all that immobiliser stuff on the BMW's but the engine I can get will be around the 95 era, I can get the complete ignition with key and chip etc just wondering if thats the easiest way to go, a standalone ecu means I could go ITB which would be pretty awesome!

We'll I've had this mtech 2 coupe shell sitting here for awhile and which I'm showing a little attention here and there. I've got a Nissan 09 VK56DE 5.6 Titan engine here that I brought for it which has literaly only done 1000miles which was planned to go in the hole but all of a sudden I feel maybe I should save that for the Nissan and go with a BMW engine I don't really know what's come over me- Is this what its like to grow older? anyway I've been thinking of going down the E38 M73 5.4 V12 route. I've got all the drive line and suspension here for it. Planning on E28 M535 rear with large case diff and m3 evo internals- big brakes. Front m3 lower arms evo hubs stubs and custom struts and m3 rack. Also have some BBS LM 9 and 8s for it. Will either use a r154 supra box or m3 getrag box Now the question is for all you guys that have gone down the road of wiring up new engines with EWS immobilisers etc into e30's is. Is it best I try to get the whole wiring setup out of the e38 and try run it with the factory ecu- any ideas if it would run okay with a manual trans or shall I go after market. last time I checked with link about running V12's you have to batch fire coils and group injectors. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Will post pics when we've got some progress happening!

Hey guys I've got a complete rear end from an E36 M3 evo 3.2. Its the complete subframe with arms brakes and of course large case LSD badboy diff ratio is 3.25 from memory. The subframe and axles are larger than normal m3 stuff and the brakes are 312x20mm. This setup is super hard to get and would suit any track going E36 or E36 with a V8 or big 6 conversion. $1200 for BS members 0211645663

So are they considered a e30 325i "sport box" I hear they have a bigger output flange and different ratios to teh getrag-similar box to a 3.0 M3 in the 36?

I was under the impression that all the e30 325i had getrag 260 gearboxes in them, does anyone have a ZF gearbox in theirs?

Hey mate you can buy those parts from mitsi as I had to do the same as my calipers didn;t have them, think they were around $100 for the lot with new pins etc

Hey guys for a project I'm doing id like to try find some old box type speakers that everone had on their parcel shelves, the plastic pioneer type 3 or 4 way ones. I don't mind if the speakers are damaged I can fix them, just please try keep your eyes peeled even at pickapart if you happen to be there- they actually are quite hard to get as everyone threw them away I'm just doing up an 80's jappa and thought it would be keeping in theme! thanks
