Yeah Andy has a bit of a collection of pretty nice stuff, including a tidy 2 door Sierra Cosworth.

Was it a local car? I know the Blackberry brothers had a couple of tidy M325i's a few years ago.

I actually did laugh out loud at that statement. You ARE taking the piss aren't you?

Have done a bit of net searching and i think it's going to end up just being a bloody expensive ipod / music player. Some things i've read say with the firmware this ph has you can't jailbreak then carrier unlock it and some say you can. Also, it needs a wi-fi connection but our setup at home won't let it connect. Firmware is 4.10.1 I hate technology haha.

Yeah he just informed me he got it through Telstra and it has a Telstra SIM in it at the mo'. So i'm guessing it'll be locked.................soooooooo how do we unlock it?

Hey all, need a little help / info'. My other son came back from OZ on Sat', he's got an iphone 4. It was with Telstra over there and now it's saying it's on Vodafone NZ. My questions are, Can i go to Vodaphone and get another SIM for it, Will it work ok in NZ if i do? More importantly, do we HAVE to have it on Vodafone here or is there someway we can get it onto the Telecom network? Would appreciate any help as i'm completely tech' illiterate, i'm flat out turning on the 'puter haha.

Also Jesse James' book 'American Outlaw' is a good read. Yeah yeah i know, self important wannabe .........., but it definatly isn't like that. I bought the book with no doubt he would come across as a wanker, but he actually came across as humble and quite normal.

I found it quite hard to read, writing style wise. I normally read a book a week, mostly auto biographies. Have got all of Clarksons and Mays books but found Hammonds books hard to read though. If you like auto biographies then Lee Iacocca, Richard Branson, Ray Kroc (McDonalds) and the Cuban guy that ran Coca Cola are worth a read. Also Tom Cotters series of "In the barn" books are damn good reading, i've got 2 to go out of the series of 5.

Kel-Tec sub 2000. Glock 23 .40 S&W .357 (long barrel) Inherited from my father. Safely locked away at an un-named gun club. Play with them once in awhile, on the annerverary of the old boys passing and also when i get REALLY pissed off, it's fun. PS: You think a general FA license is hard to get, you wanna try owning a Kel-Tec in NZ

We don't know yet, will have to see what the ute looks like painted. Thanks again Johno, young fella loves them. I'm not sure 'bout them yet, tried to talk him out of them but his $ his choice haha.
-
Colour will be, dark pearl blue on top, pearl orange (similar to my old E34 colour) on lower half seperated by 2 silver leaf pinstripes 'bout 4" apart with some airbrushing in the middle. They do unscrew, wheels look ok without them but the young fella likes them as is. They are designed for pre-runners and the like. http://tinyurl.com/3kt3gnd http://tinyurl.com/3uo9mqp

Once again Johno was able to do a good deal on some rims. Young fella had some 17s on his ute that were the wrong offset, he needed new tyres so decided some new rims were in order. Before 17x8 38 offset (multistud) After 17x9 12 offset. So now i have some Lenso skid rims for the Holden ute haha.

Wouldn't expect anything different from someone living in a "trailer park".

I knew i was missing something haha. 43 and never had one and won't ever get one in NZ. Had every conceivable (sp?) license when i came back from OZ, car, bike, HT, bus, tracked road vehicle. All up 'bout $6000 worth of license and NZ govt' recognised ONE, car. So i refuse to do what i've already done AND to a higher degree than what has to be done here. But the Duke does draw attention with the current pipe setup hehe.

Yep i am & yep i will mate. Will be a total strip down so progress may be patchy tho', have to fit it 'round other jobs.

HMMM makes my SS look very un-tidy. Thanks Glenn.

Definatly a YD3 Glenn (have ownership papers in front of me), the budget version of the YDS3 which was the forerunner to the RDs.

Hey guys, have started a thread for us Bimmersport bike owners. Chuck pic's of ya bikes in there and we'll get the mod's to clean up Andrews thread. cheeRS.
-
Thought I'd start a thread for those of us who own bikes. My soon to be 'cafe' My Duke SS that now sits forlorn in a shed down the back of the farm. And this thing i rescued from a barn a few months ago. Yamaha YD3, 1963 250 2 stroke.

Like. It's been around for a number of years now.

Yep they are a bit of a rarity (read 0ddity). The MPH speedo is annoying tho', also no rev' counter. Will be putting a digital tacho' on it soon along with a 14 tooth front sprocket so it doesn't sound like it's going to explode at 60mph. I found it on a farm wwaayy out the back of Stratford. The photo' is how i got it, and the thing runs like a sewing machine. If it wasn't for the pipes you wouldn't hear it running. Cost me $500, 2 tyres $90, mirror $20, park light bulb 60c, cert' (VIN) $128, plates & 6 mths reg' $273.86. So i think it's a fun little summer bike for under a grand. PS: This is my other bike.

I agree. Yet another cool WOF fail.

This is what i did re the VIN process. My bike hadn't been in the system EVER, no plates or even ownership papers, was bought brand new from Honda NZ but must've been used on a farm or something as there was no trace of it anywhere, VTNZ, NZTA or NZ Police. Lots of people said don't even try as it's all too hard. We have a guy here in NP that works part time at VTNZ that does the bike re-vinning, he's also a keen biker so he made the whole process easy. 1 Get a form from VTNZ or AA that you take to cop shop, they fill it in to say they have no interest in the bike. (You'll need as much info' as you can get ie: old plate/s, old ownership papers or last owners details) All i had was a reciept from the guy i bought it from, the Honda frame # and my license. Also don't let them (Police) tell you that they don't fill out those forms anymore, it's BS. 2 Get bike up to WOF standard. (mine just needed 2 tyres, park light bulb and 1 mirror. Only 1 mirror needed for WOF) 3 Make appointment for re-vin, fill out the form they give you (can't remember the form #) Pay $128 for certification, it's for a strict WOF and a VIN plate rivetted to bike. 4 Go into office, fill out form MR2A, pay $273.86, that's for a new plate, new reg' label and 6 months reg' (Vehicle license) 5 Enjoy riding 'round on a slow noisey old bike all summer, that's what i'm planning haha. One thing to watch tho' is brake disc thickness. This is a grey area and will depend on who does your bike. If the bike is a '91 or before then you DON'T have to provide a check sheet for disc thickness, if after '91 then you do, however....................They may make you do it, which means book it in to a bike shop and pay upwards of $150 for some monkey to measure the disc. BUT here's the kicker. The regulation only states the disc must be measured by a COMPETENT person, and as i'm sure you can read a digital vernier you qualify as competent. The biggest thing with going through the re-vin process is DON'T believe everything one person tells you...........sh*t that means don't believe a thing i just wrote haha. Let us know how ya get on.
