A couple of 325i e30s competing at the Hawkswood Sealed Sprint today in North Canterbury. The black one was quite possibly the best sounding car of the day. On the way back to CHCH, also saw a Silver-Grey E46 M3 on what looked like CSL’s heading north on SH1. Rego FZC 299

Would be interested to see if the new owner is on here. That dealer Estoril coupe is still available for anyone that missed out and doesn’t mind spending a few thousand more !

That one certainly looks good, although not keen on those wheels. I'm always suspicious of low Km Japanese(?) imports, but this one does indeed look like genuine kms - those Ivory seats still look very sharp.

Oh, yeah - that’s nice too. Great colour combo - that interior would have been stunning when new, but still looks quite acceptable now.

…and this e24 I spotted a few weeks back at an automotive shop in CHCH. Originally had a MX____ plate when new, so possibly from the same dealer / NZ city as the e28 above?

This one is an auto, but checks a lot of other boxes… Estoril e36 Coupe Will probably be snapped up quickly at that price…

Another factory manual Motorsport coupe to keep an eye on… https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3299016546.htm Gotta love those factory cassette holders!

Very tidy e46 M3 SMG - looked to be fresh-off-boat and yet to be complied - F2AT M-tex interior with a Recaro drivers seat. Will no doubt pop up at a ChCh Car dealer anytime soon...

Yeah, I saw that come up for sale today. I suspect that the vendor intended to have it listed for at least a week , but may have made an error on the auction end date, with it closing the same day of listing. I'm sure if more people were aware of the listing that it would have gone for a lot more... I would put the value of the S85 at around $10k alone at 50,000 genuine km.

Here’s another 328i Motorsport Coupe that popped up on TradeMe yesterday - will be interested to see where the pricing ends up. This one’s a factory manual and NZ New. Doesn’t look to be as tidy as the Estoril example, but still appears to be honest. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3258069709.htm

Will be interested see the reserve on this - must be getting close at $14,600. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3231220903?bof=LIPgjs61 Not a factory manual, but looks to be well sorted. Coincidently I see that this car appears on some "Those Car Dudes" YouTube videos:

Some energetic early bidding on this one: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3234749686?bof=fISwBgxI Looks like it would be hard to find one much better than this example!

Hi there, I've got a "factory" or dealer-fitted tow bar on my e60 - it's got a 50mm ball, but I'm after the slighty smaller 1 7/8" type (approx 47.5mm) Does anyone happen to have the removable goose-neck part in 1 78/" to fit this type of tow assembly? I know that there are a few places that can machine the 50mm ball down to the smaller size, but before going down that path I thought I'd check if someone had a complete part in that smaller size so that I can keep my options open (most hire trailers appear to be 1 7/8", but I ideally want to keep the 50mm as an option to haul bigger trailers if needed). Photos attached of my existing set-up Maybe an e53 or e70 X5 has the same type of bar? Cheers Paul

It was listed yesterday. Here’s a screenshot I took this morning just in case it disappeared quickly…

I have a genuine Westfalia bar, and currently use the "TEB7AS" relay in the first link above on my e60 LCI sedan - quite easy to install, and no issues with the LED indicators etc. It doesn't however have the genuine BMW / Westfalia feature of disabling the PDC sensors when reversing, but a push of the PDC button inside the car silences that. I also don't think it gives you a dash warning to indicate if there's a bulb out on the trailer (I think the genuine ones do?), but there is a discrete audible tone from the module when indicating which will not sound if an indicator lamp is out.

This one has just come up for sale today... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m3/listing/3009561407?bof=uZwwqzBJ But it's Black. And SMG. Tidy, facelift, and NZ New, however!

... I spotted this one a few days ago - has been painted in LSB recently - was Phoenix Yellow when I last saw it about 18 months ago. It is now manual too (has been converted from SMG)
-
... that e36 M3 'vert in your garage photo also looks interesting... what colour is that?
-
Beautiful Car - don't let it go for less than what you really want! There are not many about in NZ that achieve the near-unicorn status of this one. I wouldn't be surprised if the "right" buyer would pay circa $50k for this example. Good luck with the sale, and please let us know how you get on. Cheers Paul

Laguna Seca Blue (paint colour)

Yes, this one certainly ticks quite a few boxes! I see that $40,000 is the starting bid, no yellow reserve flag is showing at that price, so the reserve is currently not met, and unknown.

A selection of some German machinery spotted at the Skope Classic at Ruapuna this weekend... The engine bay on the "Brock" e30 M3 was the finest piece of work I've seen for a while. The S54 powered e87 was also very well sorted...
