What the hell has merc been doing all this time ? Sorry but turbos aren't the only way to solve the problem. As for weight, thats incorrect. Todays engines are much lighter and stronger including v8/v10 etc etc. The new process of pressing and sleeving into alloy and magnesium composite blocks has allowed BMW to get the best of both worlds.

Nice, grab some OEM m3 side skirts and your done!

Nice! .. I used a e36 m3 one for mine. I found it had the added bonus of being translucent which was nice to visually quick check levels. However for look good factor I think a nice polished one in that engine bay of yours is more appropreiate! looking forward to the next update!

They dont need to make it a strung out engine at all ... all you do is increase cubes and you have power.
-
i'll wait for the real photos to come out .. that photoshop looks like a e46 tech2 front bumper had sex with a horse.

fronts ... Rear suspension doesn't have a control arm as such. You can pull the wheel back and forth to check movement on a hoist. However remember the car weight is a lot more and what seem fine to human strength isnt always fine when you have 1.8 ton of tank stopping in a driveway crest.

When I set mine and tuned the throttle cable I had brendon press the throttle pedal and I waited for the 'click' of the brass butterflies to hit full open and dailed it back half a thread as not to cause the cable to stretch.

want me to have a look at mine when I get home ?

turbo v8 better than a NA v10 sorry .. but nah

Around the expansion tank, have you thought of getting a polished tig welded alloy one made insteadt of the OEM brown plastic one ? You could then mount it away from the motor.

This thing is ace. Love what you're doing for the diffuser side of things ... dry carbon rear diffuser on!

Whats the realistic hope of finding one of those in this country! (I acutally know of one but thats another story)

Lance @ Arrow wheels can make them up for ya. Hub centric wheel side and hub faces and grub screwed to the wheels. (obviously have to give the wheels for a few days)

We are just beating up on some members from here... haha .. nah, West auckland isn't acutally that rough ... its a lot like your standard lower to middle class suburbs. I'm marrying into westism and the missus's family are all westies. Watch outrageous fortune (on torrent) for a good tv version of it all

f**k .. im very impressed with the custom work. Especailly interested in your long length shifter. Im running something similar however looks like you have got over the linkage ratio barrier with having a shifter up to the steering wheel ?

You sure its not a worn / split control arm bush. The inner control arm moves on the rubber bush and hits the outter support ring making a knock sound. Usually happens when you come in on a drive way under brakes. Because its bolted directly to the chassis, it can make a lot of noise and seem it coming from the inside of the cabin. Otherwise, it sounds like your tracking the same noise down I am at the moment. rear passenger side knock rattle thing ... will let you know if I find it! haha

thanks .. a great watch.

Sure will, I have it all cut out sitting in my garage .. Just need to make some adjustments to make it fit better and re-cut the alloy before mounting. Will look at this soon as summer heats are fast approaching!

Some updates: Fuel system added (before hampton actually) but heres a shot of it anyways. Specs: normal pre-fl tank feeds the external accumulator (high volume, low pressure) feeds a 2 liter surge tank which inturn feeds the Walbro 500hp (low volume, high pressure 5 bar++) pump (not pictured as its underneath). The 2 liters is a bit over kill but also acts as a nice reserve if the accumulator would ever to fail. Accumulator and primer is wired in a relay and then to the DME so when EWS enables engine start .. both pumps fire a primer of gas through the lines. It leaves the pumps on the security system which is nice And an interior shot so far. mostly stock, e36 window switches and e34 leather hand brake (e brake) grip.

Grab a 330 .. for the money you cant get better motoring and it will keep you happy for a few years yet. Until the upgrade to the m3 happens

hehe .. not too worried .. I've recently been checking up on the new format of the mag and they have changed things up a bit. Lots of other non rice cars appearing in there. Would be a great oppertunity to show the modded car scene whats really up with euros and how the euro scene rolls? I have some stuff to sort out on the car, would love to give it a full repaint before however with the wedding thats not going to happen before feb '11. And also the interior front seats are starting to wear out (like all good 24 year old cars do). Good thing is the interior (apart from the front seats) is in mostly near perfect condition. Few minor things like rear helmet nets and fire extinguisher system to be added (front and rear) ...
