yeah I hear ya, but lowering beyond 50mm is stupid in most cases. Personally Im really not a fan of wheels up in the guards look. To me (and most performance oriantated people) when we see a car like that, the words rangi crosses most peoples minds. Not having a dig, just stating whats on people minds around this topic. All im illustrating above is there are other ways to get the look that I think you are all 'trying' to achieve without doing it the 'wrong' way.

Basically the look your after isnt dictated by lowering your car below whats actually safe. You can achieve it with wheels that follow the curve of your guards (IE 19inch wheels on an e46) You also use body kits that are lower around the outside of the car but still dont go lower than the lowest point on your car (usually around the gearbox area or diff) The wheels fill your guards with the correct offset so they are right out to the edge of the guard while not scaping and the whole kit gives you a sense that the car is low as well. this way your still at 100mm your suspension is still working properly you have way more grip on the road (wider tyres) and it looks the biz (while passing warrents). Bags on BMWs are a contradiction. Taking (for its era) a brilliantly handling car and turning it to handle like sh*t. I understand that its cool in some circles n all that which is fine. But people rarely try it the other way in this country. Seriously youll enjoy your car a crap load more.

You guys know that there are more ways to make a car look low and remain legal with out putting stupidly short springs and screwing the handling aye ?

  5. yeap, that sure is. nice
  6. Some useful options * if its auto .. do the manual conversion * qaulity suspension package (Bilstien, H&R, Koni etc etc) (probably one of the most important things for enjoyment of your ride.) * Wheels that will properly fit an e30 (25 - 20 offset) * Brake upgrade * LSD Would be the best start. But I think you would have a bit of fun with a m325i (mtech 2 or 1) as you wont then have to body kits it, you will also get uprated swaybars and LSD, larger shocks + Insurance will be a lot easier too ..
  7. might be worth a full stock rebuild ? .. but enjoy it for a bit first! ... very very nice car you have there!

  10. auto ? .. if so screw that will just end up costing you 3500k to fix it. (or getting a second hand box) just buy something without the issues. Especially in the auto gearbox department.
  11. by nuskool tires I mean the likes of Yokohama, Falkin, Dunlop derezza etc which are better fitted to the new looks vs performance people are after. By old man tires I mean the like of Conti, Pirelli etc. They are wider and balloon more on the rim. A 225 Conti which fits an 8.5 inch rim naturally is different to a Dunlop Derezza (with a naturally shampher tire wall) which fits an 8.5 inch rim naturally at 235. I run 8.5 @ 225 Dunlop Derezza on BBS LM wheels there is only a 5mm stretch each side hence the mild stretch. If you look into the recommended tire guide for these newer types of tires they are still in tolorance from the manufactures guides of the wheels beading. The Oldman tire is more suited to non-lowered cars with wider rims as they never had snug guard fits in mind when they were designed. hence the term 'oldman'. The Nuskool tire is suited to the lowered vehicle better and 'performance' driving (im not talking sacked out with cut springs rubbish btw) I have personally had to deal with both cars with both types of tires. Because I’m running very narrow tolerances I need tires that perform while having a slight stretch, Nuskool tires do this very well. I run 30 / 35 profiles on the 330 at 45psi. This doesnt make the car hard as nails either.
  12. Are your sure you want it that loud ? ... that exhaust in that you tube vid wont pass NZ noise levels. I've just recently replaced my stock system in the 330 with a super sprint stainless. Sounds awesome while still being legal.
  13. Im running 225's on 18x8.5 on the e30 no worries. (mild stretch) which os what I recommend for people with gaurd rubbing issues. naturally an 8.5 inch wide rim holds a 235 (nuskool tire) or a 225 (old man) tire
  14. haha trust me .. she would if she had the chance ... She warming to the e30 .. its lol ... took her for one drive in the weekend and she 'gets it'
  15. California has been running it for a couple of years. Couple of the e46 guys have reported strange goings on while others report no issue at all. Why they have to piss around with '98' RON octane instead of sludge 91 I will never know. 98 is already poo enough.
  16. Not to knock its idea but that thing is hideously huge! ... for all the effort why not just remote reservoir it? This wouldnt work on right-hand drive cars as the heat from the manifold would cause more problems than fixing them. Mind you sticking an LS1 in an e30 I understand why. for an m50/s50 swap remote or smaller booster options are a better choice still. The other suggestions earlier in the thread where even a better idea than this. The mk2 golf booster / Audi 88 25mm master cylinder way only costs about $600 to do and the thing brakes hard with braided lines.
  17. ahhhhhhhrgh f**k it ... would of bought them .. :/

    Website Build

A pro designed (visually doesn't look sh*t) small static usually about 2k (very rough) CMS anywhere from that upwards depending how much custom work is needed. It really falls into hours spent.
  19. that e21 is awesome ... as with the 3.0 CSL.
  20. hehe .. they wanted 129k when it was first imported. If I were them, paint the bonnet ($1000 job) paint the black inners on the wheels as silver, ditch the rice on on the boot. The whole thing would probably only cost about 3k to do and they could then ask their 80-90k price tag ... the black "two tone" 2005 US sema copy paint scheme is scaring people off.
  21. Chrome is a by product of the US hip-hop scene, someone thought it would be a good idea to stick on Malaysian import wheels. .. it actually went out of fashion in the US about 4 years ago .. About two years ago in the states the polished lip / dish and coloured centre (silver / black / whatever) Now its all about coloured dish and polished (not chrome) centre .. although I think this looks pants. so. an open letter dear would-be wheel buyer, The fast and furious 1 is a six year old movie. Chrome wheels have died their death, its only this country and the Australians (who have no taste what so ever) still using them. Please stop the chrome, and save the planet. Your friend Josh
  22. welcome back! Well, tons has changed ... Most of the oldies are still the same except its now really confusing since the name change option was put in.
