Just around places to go ... you thought about checking out wheels that are availible in NZ and picking like that ... Do what I do, figure out what you really want and contact the distrubutor.

for an e46 rear max offset is 39 at 9.5 front max offset is 39 at 8.5 I think they are 40 offset, so youll be fine.

I'm running 18x8.5 BBS LM's on the m325i ... it handles fine .. infact I would say it handles more than fine. (obviosly have running gear that allows us to run 8.5 wide) remember DTM m3's run 18x8.5's standard, so dont let people feed you bullshit
-
yes 18x8 max at et20

also from r3v a good illustration why we went with GC. On the left is the GC setup with GC camber/castor tops we went with. or here is a picture I took on my phone before we assembled it.

We have the semi coilover setup. the fronts are full coil overs utilising OEM e30 m3 struts. however the rear of ours still utilises the separate srping / shock setup of the m-coupe trailing arms. The e30 is the same. Andrew and Glenn are two people I know who are running a true coilover setup. How ever they have had to modify their rear strut towers to accomodate the larger diameter shock and spring setup a coilover brings to the table. glenns setup from : http://ubersaloons.co.nz/uber3/E28-stuff/Page3.html Which chirs I think you maybe trying to achieve ? obviously requires full cert but you can get this done as part of your cage certing (cert'd cage and cert'd strut towers) Glenns and andrews setups show a nice way to tie your diff mount bolts and your new towers all together creating a strong point. Andrew has a pretty full on role cage to go with this however.

Nah its not that bad aye .. just every 120ks you need to service it and check for wear. about a $400 job ... Think of it as like servicing you cam belt / tensioner bearing. But yes your 120% right in the "they are impossible to find" and being an "M" motor, you pay "M" prices for everything. To all: You can also just lock the cams and not run vanos if its your thing ... but you loosing 1/3 of the s50's ability. With BMW's engines, torque is king HP is secondary. a 3ltr m20 is gonna sound soooo good

I had a little fun in the e30 before I took it off the road. Having fun out dragging a latest model gt4 turbo celica classic.. realising that the m20 engine is at 360,000 ... priceless. nuff sed.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=11&fg=20 errr why go to a shop when you can just go to a BMW dealer and buy the right part ... they'll cost you only a couple of $$$ -
The dyno result would be useless due to the ECU's learning computer unless I compared stock vs SS on the dyno. however maybe we could all run a dyno day down at gav's HiVelocity dyno ?

I did thanks, just replied.

they are dual 2inch from the cats then 2 1/2 inch from the muffler (tips)... the SS stainless headers were going to cost 2k maybe something ill look at down the line but not sure. for sure .. its been about a year since i've done a proper photoshoot .. so ill do up some real nice topgear style images heheheh .. I haven't actually heard it from the outside yet .. might get brendon to drive it so I can have an audio perv Will do mang ... These coil overs drop anywhere from 30 to 75mm so should be aiight for a bit of joking around hehe .. to all: thanks for the comments

Soooooo while waiting for certain engine stuff to be done to the e30.... I decided that the e46 need some more modding since the last round. (hence digging up the old thread ) Exhaust system Supersprint 330i stainless twin 2 1/2 inch. Was a little bit of fun getting the oxygen sensors after the cats connected so we removed the pipe from the cats and replaced it with a newly flaged piece. Sleeved the new system over. This removed the restriction all e46's suffer from. Result I now have a lot more power up top, quite noticable. The tone is fantastic too, no drone and a sporty sound. Also had a firmware upgrade done to the ECU and GPU ... its now alot more responsive and just stronger through the rev range Coupe seats upgrade Came into some coupe 330ci sport seats, I will re-leather these black and install them into my old 330i carriers and make some minor mods to the seats controls. Works wheels upgrade Decided that a) it was time for a change and after my run in with the esmonde road exposed manhole cover it was time to change wheels 19x9.5 19x8.5 Rezax II Works wheels, On 4 week order now KW Coilover Thought it was time to install a set of coilovers instead of my lowering springs and here they are: Fully adjustible KW variant 2's Hamann/Eibach uprated sway bars Also part of the upgrade was the ever important sway bar upgrade. This thing if it wasn't already ... is going to be on rails

Take it into BMW and get it on the update computer ... It could just require a software update to the GCU. There are many reasons for this happening, fluid levels, fluid pressure issues or engagement piston issues. Just going through all this sh*t myself with the gearbox shop and BMW with the e46. Fun times....
